Bought car in August 2012. When I viewed the car before buying I noticed that the tyres were worn and that the handbrake handle was missing, they agreed to sort this. They put part worn tyres onto the car! I took it back to the dealer the next day because I felt the car was not braking properly. Also the handbrake had fallen apart in my hand. The3y had superglued the previous one together! I was told the brakes were fine, probably just dusty and that they would contact me when they had a new handbrake in and they would repair it so I drove the car away. After about 3 weeks my clutch gave way so I contacted them again. They said that because I had done 1500 miles in less than a month they wouldn't do anything about it. I explained that this was obviously the problem when trying to slow the car down and any mechanic I've spoken to since agrees that the car slows as you change down gears. I had to pay £250 to get a new clutch. Brake started grinding in January, cold weather, car sliding all over the road and not stopping quick enough so I took the car to a garage where it cost me £195 to get the back brake pads and disc and bearings replaced. He said the front ones badly need done too but I couldn't afford to do them that month too. So front pads and discs have just been down this week and 4 new tyres as mines were illegal! Driving the car away and it starts chugging and misfiring. Took car back to my garage and it turns out the service that was suppose to be done couldn't have been because of the mess of the spark plugs so just had to pay £70 for new spark plugs and a coil pack. Now I need to replace a ball joint in the car too. Port Dundas told me the car had passed an MOT and been serviced. The service light was still one when I took the car away to which I was told that the only person who can turn the service light off is Renault. There was a bulb out at the rear reg plate & the headlights were not aligned properly so I can't imagine it would have passed an MOT in any other garage. But now I've had the car serviced at another garage they have switched the light off. Once you have signed you're taking the car, no come back. Almost a year down th eline, I've practically rebuilt my car and they have still not got me a handbrake! AVOID!!! read more
