The staff stand around gossiping about customers loud enough for everyone to hear. When we raised the issues politely, we were treated like rubbish. This is actually a pretty quiet country pub, and a pretty nice one at that. There is a large outdoor area, and also a terrace area out the front. A friend and myself had the 'surf and turf' with the steak cooked to perfection and the seafood sauce included prawns, octopus and squid in a lovely garlic cream sauce. My friend stated that it was the best seafood sauce he had tasted in a long time. The menu is basic but with some lovely country items like crumbed Camembert with cranberry sauce as an entrée. The wine selection was good with local wines included. With the prices being what you would expect to pay (The Entertainment Book provided a discount voucher). They offer a breakfast menu so that is next on my list to enjoy the morning country view while eating alfresco.
