We panicked when they call the USPS to confirm the voucher but the supervisor was not in, we thought we were going to be asked to return another day but instead the owner said no problem I will just call him tomorrow. She believed she did not do anything wrong because she was being calm and stating that we can we check the cameras and recordings for proof. When we said we'd leave a poor review due to their lack of empathy and poor customer service, the owner replied that "bad things happen to bad people", basically foretelling our misfortune. It was really unprofessional overall. Our disappointment as customers was met with hostility and defensiveness. I wish we read the reviews before purchasing from here. I'm glad he didn't try to do something that would ruin my boots just to make extra money. He was able to shorten the boots and they now look custom made for me. His work is of high quality. Please see pics. He is also a craftsman. Boris makes his own high quality knock off designer & artsy bags using only the finest leather. I consider myself to be extremely lucky to bump into his store. Boris now has a customer for life. My fashion knowledge in general is sub-par, to say the least. All I knew for sure was that it was my wedding, and I had to look my absolute peak. Suffice it to say, there are a lot of shop owners who would've seen a rube like me as easy pickings. The Tuxedo Shop of New York is NOT one of those places. Nancy had obviously dealt with a million guys like me before. I gave her a (general) idea of how I wanted to look, and she pretty much went from there. I got measured, and she picked out a 3-piece tux, bowtie, suspenders and shoes. Way less money than I thought a tux rental would be. She was super nice and seemed generally-interested in engaging in conversation and hearing my wife and I's story. A week before the wedding, I came back to pick up the tux. There was a guy in the back (I forgot his name) who had me try everything on. He was kinda quiet; didn't really ask how anything felt. We discovered the sleeves were a little long, so he told us to wait 15 minutes while he made some alterations. It turned into more like 45 minutes. And he didn't even have me try on the altered suit. I kinda just trusted his judgement. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end. Suit fit great, wedding was great, and everything was returned without incident. So all in all, I would definitely return.
