I didn't actually purchase anything here myself, but my Mom did. I went with her to purchase the vehicle and the staff was very nice. My Mother isn't exactly a pro at buying vehicles. In fact, her trade-in was a 1990-something minivan, complete with a 3" screen TV and VHS. What can I say, we rolled in style! She opted for a Ford Escape. (I convinced my mom it's pronounced Ess-Cah-Pay, it's kind of hilarious). Their deal was unmatched. I even contacted Jim Burke Ford and asked if they could beat Clevenger's deal. They're response: "We can't even come close. Jump on it, before someone else does." So, that's exactly what we did. Well, not literally. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is for the limited selection. It's a small town Ford, so their selection doesn't have to be big, but it was still limited to me. This is complete reckless endangerment by the Porterville Ford dealership Porterville Ford at https://www.portervilleford.net/ They gave my sister and her husband a complete 140 point inspection they supposedly did before selling them this car and the brakes literally were missing bolts and fell off. It could have killed her and anyone else in the car. Only this dealership could manage to screw up a perfectly good Lexus. By the way they had my sisters previous Ford SUV for weeks and couldn't figure out what was wrong. It was a design defect in the oil pan seal. Her husband googled it and solved it. so I purchased my 2025 Ford Maverick at Porterville ford and shortly after I noticed (1) 1"x1" chunk of paint missing on my front bumper that the dealing tried to put a chalk/glue on it then 5 other chips on the passenger side. I was there this morning getting a recall fixed on my vehicle. As I was sitting in the waiting area, I had to hear what I can only imagine was the manager, absolutely going OFF on his employees. Voice raised, several F bombs, hitting his fist on the counter. This went on for an uncomfortable length of time. He was accusing his employees of not working hard enough or well enough and costing him money. I felt it was completely unprofessional to have that conversation in ear shot of a customer. And it wasn't even a conversation - it was an absolute tirade. Talk about a hostile work environment. That man should not be managing people if he can't keep his temper in check. My parents purchased a F350 Ford Diesel from Porterville Ford. I would not recommend this dealership if it was the last dealer on earth. My parents purchased the truck on March 16, 2017. The sells person didn't know anything about the truck and could show my mother all the features of the vehicle. The dealer finally got the truck detailed yesterday April 20th! It's sad that it took them this long to get the final detailing and my mother didn't even actually know how big her gas tank was because again the sells person didn't explain the features of the truck fully!! They never gave my mom parents the key code to access the truck through the door key panel. Came in for a replacement key and was told to return the next day at 8:00am. Did and was told it would take up to 1 hour for the new key to get cut and programmed. Service guy was assigned the job and I didn't think anything about it when he stood around and bull****ed for 10-15 minutes with other employees about only working a half day, Orange County stories, laws about dogs riding in the back of truck beds and other stuff. Then after 1 1/2 hrs later they come up and say there is some mix up and delay and it'll take another 1/2 hr to get it finished. It's now almost 2 hours later and it isn't done. Terrible service that reminds me why most people I know avoid dealerships unless absolutely necessary. This is a prime example. read more

I want to buy a brand new truck and if not in stock was ready to order it. I was driving down from work in Sacramento calling dealers next to the 99 to see if this unique truck was in stock to actually see it. I called this Porterville dealer yesterday four times,they were close to my house. I got continued automated voices, never a human, no matter what # I hit, it was a vicious cycle. Even when pressing the # for sales, it kept sending me to their mailbox,which said it was full. No matter how many times I called, the same thing. I will never call them again even though they are 11 miles away. Also, a similar thing happened when calling the Tulare Ford dealer, except I called three times for sales and twice got the nice finance guy who once forwarded me to sales which was a mailbox that was full. Tulare is 12 miles from my house, sales section is terrible still, we have gone to Keller twice for 2 trucks. We only use Tulare Ford for service because they rock. Customer sales service should be #1, both of these dealers are not. I drove back up to Selma Ford and dealt with them, a human answered the phone every time. read more

This is absoulute truth. Porterville Ford dealership tried to charge me fees they didnt have to or need to. After negotiating a price drop "for the car price" and going to the bank and getting the cashiers check to pay them they admitted their mistake but refused to reimburse me. I had already had the cashiers check in hand ready to buy! When I saw the paper work were it showed their mistake about the DMV fees I asked them "whats that about?" WOW....they had used unnecessary DMV fees to negotiate a drop in over all price, not the vehicle price!!! In negotiating the price drop for the car they dropped the sale price 900 plus dollars and I was happy with that. I went and got the check from the bank and went back to the dealer ship and I realized they didnt drop the price of the car much at all. They only dropped it about 300. In reality they were adding an unnecessary fee on top of what they were asking for the car! The car was already current with DMV fees and instead of only dropping the car price they just corrected the "intentional over priced dMV fee". They dont make mistakes like that and if they do why buy from them anyway? When asking them what happened they admitted to this. I asked " If I would have given you full price what would you have done with the mistake (extra money) in the DMV fees." They said " we cant keep that its not our money and we would have written you a refund check before you left". WHAT A SCAM!!!!!! they dont tell you these things till after and hope you go away with a good feeling of having a check from them after the sale!!! I didnt buy the car because if they use tactics like that then how can you really trust anything they do? be careful.... The managers name that did this is Deepak. and get this... Bought a used truck almost 3 years old at the time of purchase and after the purchase they didn't homer the detail and the spare key they promised also 8 months after the purchase it had a major oil leak and didn't want to fix it through warranty obviously is part of the powertrain warranty, and they charge you for things that don't even make sense. read more

When we got there the guys said ok it will be $360! We called him on it and he said, "Oh sorry, we over quoted you. It will be $150." Then he calls and tells us for new brakes, resurfacing on the back brakes, and new rotors on the front it will be $950!!! I started calling Visalia and Bakersfield Ford and they said all that work would be a little over $600! They are Price gauging! I do not recommend AT ALL. At the end of the day I didn't end up buying the vehicle do to a personal matter but from the moment I got to the dealership Alejandro took care of my needs for a purchase and ended up getting me approved. Worst service I have ever received! I was working with a lovely young lady by the name of Selena, she was beyond down to earth and I felt she gave me honest answers every time I had asked her any questions. My experience turned sour when the "Sales Manager" decided to butt his nose in the sale and become overly involved. It started with him calling me at work and me simply asking him if he was able to call me after 5 as it was a better time for me since I was at work. He seemed bothered and acted like It was a problem. That set the entire tone. I still showed up at the dealership per Selena's and my set meeting time and upon arrival he could care less about me until he had realized I was the one he had spoken to about a potential sale. Fast forward we go on a test drive come back and we start talking numbers and they do the little sales tactic of brings in the "Sales Manager" he started to make me feel uncomfortable so I began to state I wasn't interested as he wasn't doing what I had asked which was putting the payment where I wanted and letting me deal with the down payment. He made it seem like I was poor or couldn't afford it. He rudely begins to shuffle the paper in front of me and aggressively circles the down payment required to get to my requested monthly payment and at that time I had received a text that was moderately important. At this time I stood up and wasn't feeling at all comfortable and as I had asked for my keys back he began to become very hostile and arrogant and ask what the problem was. I stated I didn't feel comfortable and didn't appreciate that the price had gone up from the agreed amount and then pointed it out per discussion with Selena, he aggressively slammed the table and started to cause a seen having the entire sales floor look at us as he begins to say loudly "oh do you deserve to be tax exempt? Do you live in the reservation? How do you not know where you live?" At that point I was beyond pissed as he not only disrespected me but did it in front of my wife and in front of the General manager and that guy sat there at the desk and allowed it. I politely asked Selena for my keys back (this being the 4th time) she then proceeded to hand me my keys and I then told him that I may have overlooked the sales tax but there is other ways to address it then being arrogant, rude and beyond disrespectful. And just to be frank I could have afforded that car 3 times over but to be successful as I am you don't get that way without have good debt. The wife and I stopped by to look at a truck and was greeted by a friend sales man. After finding another truck in the back I told the sales department I would buy it. As simple as it sounds after running my credit twice and being assured by the Sales manager Matt and contract writer Mary each assured us more then 6 times from Matt and 3 times from Mary financing was going to be secured and will not be an issue. Being this was a Sunday I had my reservations and had told ALL that was involved I would pick up the truck Monday after financing was secured. After waiting over an hour for a two block trip to get the truck filled up I spent another 45 min swapping all my belongings over from my trade. Monday I get a call saying there was a problem about financing. I told them I was not in the market to fix other people's problems that they assumed respectability for getting the loan they said was no problem. After several back and forth calls and speaking to the owner about the shitty performance and bad attitude I got post sale and securing financing we returned the truck NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN. This small home town dealer with a new owner is a utter joke and is in no way a value to my home town. The slicked back hair ear tickling sales tactics was not appreciated and screwing over by family will not go over lightly. This is s bad place and I urge anyone in the market to pass by because your likely to get screwed over too. And F in my book.
