The reviews tell the story. When I seen no one had a good thing to say about this place that should've been a red flag. We came here for our annual Christmas family portrait. The photographer was friendly but this place is mismanaged. The atmosphere is chaotic and their appointments are a joke. Would not recommend this place even to an enemy. Poor quality photos, appalling customer service (waited at the counter for 10 minutes while an employee talked on her cell), extremely overpriced. We had an appointment for 5:20pm on a Sunday. A Large party with 6 children and 12 adults and we had dinner reservations for 6:15. We arrived at PI and it was packed with people. The woman we spoke with at the desk said there would be a 20-30 minute wait. We said that was fine and we took the kids outside to walk around. 60 minutes later we were told it would be an additional 45 minute wait. When we told them we decided to cancel our appointment they could not have cared less. Not only will I not get that hour of my life back but I won't get the money back we spent on having our hair, nails and makeup done. I would give this place minus zero stars. Awful. read more

I have been here 3 times previously and had a decent experience which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. Not the best place but I at least got my photo. Well today my 3 year old was upset because the two women would not let him sit where he wanted or how he wanted, kept trying to move him around when he was already upset, and instead of taking continuous pictures so we might have at least gotten one good one to print, the "photographer" just sat there and waited for him to cooperate which of course is not going to happen with an unhappy 3 year old. These people would not even let him sit in the chair he wanted and kept saying he needed a new pose. Why? We didn't even get a good picture with this one and at least he is willing to sit there. All we wanted was one good picture and no one there knew how to handle children at all. The girl working the camera obviously had no photography training or skills at all. They basically kicked us out after less than15 minutes of trying to get a photo. Just a terrible experience today. I am SO disappointed. read more

The fact that I feel like I'm on a McDonald's playground the second I entered the establishment makes me feel like I'm gonna get sick before I leave I believe is enough to make any right-minded human being to leave instantly. However the fact that this is the only place in my local area forces me to enter such an immature and borderline ridiculous workplace. If you're looking for a seriously well done photo I recommend elsewhere, if you are a young parent with no standards what so ever this is the place for you. read more

The younger woman we worked with was swearing, making racist comments and talking badly about the company. It was awful. She was beyond unprofessional and we were completely disgusted. She was too busy talking so she missed any good shot of my child. Would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Absolute disaster! Photo session did not start until one hour after our appointment and the photos were OK at best. We did get a CD of the portraits and specifically asked if we would get the high resolution images and a copyright release. We were told we would. The first CD we were given was defective and we had to drive 30 minutes back to the store to get a new one without so much as a "Sorry." When we did get a working one home, the only open-able images on it were low resolution and there was no copyright release to be found. We will not be going back to Portrait Innovations. read more

terrible experience! I showed up a few minutes late for an easter photo shoot after spending at least a half an hour getting my 3 young kids groomed and ready. When I arrived I was told i was more than 15 minutes late (not true) and they couldn't fit me in anymore. Bad customer service!!! read more

I have used Portrait Innovations over the years to capture my sons growth. I went recently and they worked good with my son who thought he was too cool to smile, pose and take pics. I picked my favorite pose for the $9.99 package and got the pics back 15 minutes later. I wish someone would've told me things like my hair being out of place or my bra strap showing. Some pics were eliminated just for those reasons. It definitely matters which photographer you get because some will tell you and apparently some won't. When I looked at the pics later at home, the pic I ordered an extra sheet of -a different pose on a white background, the background was dirty and it showed up in the printed picture so it looks like the pic has dirt speckled all over the white background. This has never happened before from them and it kind of sucks. Other than those couple things, my main pics was good. read more

This place deserves 0 stars!!! Do not buy a gift certificate from this company! I went with my best friend and her daughter for a Christmas card photo everyone was very nice to us and we had a pleasent experience until it was time to check out! My friend had received a $100 gift certificate for her baby shower. The entire price for the photo package she wanted was $ 82.86. At the end of the transaction my friend mentioned that she still had $17.14 left and asked if she would receive a gift certificate in that amount. The employee then told her that if you do not use the full amount in one transaction the company keeps the rest! The employee then stated she would have to email corporate to see if she could have a $17.14 gift certificate sent to her. At this point my friend called corporate to see if this was true. She called corporate and reiterated the same policy. My friend then pointed out to corporate that this business's practice is ILLEGAL in the state of Connecticut. Guess what they did not care!!!! My friend has already filed a complaint with the atty generals office in the state of ct. I wanted to warn consumers who are considering purchasing a gift card for someone. This was a horrible experience. The photographer clearly did not have an ounce of training in real photo taking and didn't work with my 6 month old well at all. She wouldn't take specific pictures I wanted, rushed us to change and did not fix our hair or jewlery so everything was out of place and looked awful in the final pictures. They won't do an ounce of retouching; I could achieve better results with my iPhone. Not one picture had my son smiling. And then because he was screaming and miserable by the end, we didn't get to take our time and look at the pictures. I asked to just buy the CD with all the pictures on it and I would decide later. They wouldn't let me do that, not for $100, $200, or $300. I said I simply want to just take the CD and leave. No. Apparently that was impossible. I had to get all this "free" stuff that I had to pay $20 to ship to my house even though I didn't want any of it. I spent $300 on pictures I didn't want or need and no one was sympathetic or cared that I did not get one thing I wanted. Awful customer service AND pictures. They really don't care about the quality of their work or how they treat their customers. So disappointing. read more
