They were incredibly helpful and gave us all of the information we needed head of time! I really appreciate the attention to detail and the support they gave as soon as I walked in. It took a second to get used to taking professional looking selfies, but quickly got used to it because of Victoria. I got some digitals taken for my modeling portfolio and my friend got some LinkedIn professional headshots done. Anyways, she decided to have a photo shoot and was looking for a location local to Pasadena. When I say this was the most enjoyable photo studio session I've ever had, I MEAN IT!! I always wanted to try those self photo studios but didn't want to drive all the way to OC- that's when I discovered Portrait Space on Yelp, the first and only self photo studio in Pasadena! What really brought me to this studio was its pet friendly space and how easy it was to book a session online! My partner Aaron and I really wanted professional photos of our new puppy and kitten, and our first family Christmas card - this was THE place to go! Throughout the whole process, Victoria and Jeff were so responsive and helpful. I mainly talked to Vanessa our session, answered all my questions on call and gave helpful email instructions prior! Aaron and I chose the 1 hour session with 4 people (our kitty and puppy counted as the other two) and it included 25 emailed digital photos, 4 4x6 printed photos, and 2 color backdrops. You take the photos by a photo clicker that you can hide during your shoot! (They teach you how to use it) On the day of, we were running late and was Victoria was so incredibly accommodating - she had no problem rescheduling me to a later time in the day all while ensuring we still got our 1 hour time! Right when we entered, Victoria and Jeff showed amazing hospitality - they let our pets run free in their studio and had refreshments and treats for BOTH us and the pets! During the photo session, even though it was self shooting they were there to help us for any assistance, such as setting up props/ pose ideas - they even helped getting our pets' attention throughout the entire shoot! my family just took pictures here for our holiday card and the experience was amazing! this studio is ran by a lovely couple that were very kind and helpful with the whole session! they even paused our time to change out the background color mid session. if you book an hour, you can choose 2 colors! once we were done taking the pictures, we were able to choose 4 shots to print and 25 shots for digital copies. the hard part was narrowing it down to 25 but they do have an option where you can get all your shots for an additional cost. they have a great variety of props and chairs to use and a big restroom to use for outfit changes. i would highly recommend coming here if you want to take your own pictures on a professional set. just plan your poses cause the time does fly by! read more

I took my mom for an early Mother's Day present when she was in town and it exceeded our expectations! The rundown: You spend a few minutes doing a rundown of the photos, then you get an allotted amount of time to take photos and they hand you the remote to take the photos - and you have a little screen to preview before you take it! You get to pick your music, your backdrop beforehand (highly recommend the yellow!!), and they even have a little mini fridge with drinks Victoria & Jeff are amazing and so helpful - they have several benches and props to choose from, but you can bring props too (or even your pup if you want!). I held my baby shower here and it was the PERFECT space for it. I had 22 people total and there was plenty of room (even enough to play games) and everything was clean (including the spotless bathroom!) It's a blank space if you want to bring in a ton of decorations but they also have cute pieces in there so that if you don't have a ton of stuff already (like me) your party will still look beautiful Victoria and Jeff also had things for us to rent (like tables and chairs) so we didn't have to worry about bringing those in from somewhere else. My friends couldn't stop talking about how professional the pictures looked (usually at parties, to get group shots we have to figure out the self timer on our phones and it always looks jank) and how good the lighting was. Everyone was looking amazing in the pics!! It was super easy to use the clicker and my friends that normally don't even like taking pictures were all over it! And Victoria and Jeff sent us the pictures through Google Drive the same day!! They were super communicative through the booking process and answered all our questions promptly. 100/10 would recommend for any cozy event and would come back again for photo sessions only too! read more

What a great experience! Came to take family portraits since we haven't in 20+ years. Victoria and Jeff were so kind and welcoming, explained everything thoroughly, helped when we needed, and gave us enough space to feel comfortable! They helped us zoom in or out when needed, gave us tips, and offered to play background music for us. The place is clean, easy to quickly switch out props and seats, and fun to take photos in! Their set up makes it so it's not awkward at all when you're taking pictures because you get to direct yourself from looking at the screen. My family was very happy with our photos, the backdrops and props, the workers, and the experience in general. Tips: -write down the numbers of the photos you liked that you want to keep as you go, and mark the ones you want printed (depending on your package, the numbers will vary) -if you're prepping specific outfits for different backdrops, make sure to know which backdrop they'll have up first so you know which one to wear into the studio -try a lot of different poses/arrangements to get a variety of photos (even jackets on/off makes a difference) read more

Very cute venue space in a convenient location! We rented Portrait Space for our baby shower, and it was the perfect size for around 30 people. The space provided most of the things we needed (tables, chairs, fridge, speakers, etc.), making the setup process incredibly easy. They also have a photo station with different colored backdrop options, so we only had to bring some light decor. Additionally, we liked that it's centrally located in Old Town, with affordable parking structures nearby. The owners are also wonderful to work with! I got married recently and although we hired a photographer, we also wanted to take some more casual, laidback photos by ourselves to remember the day. I came across Portrait Space since they are local to me and our experience was fantastic! Victoria and Jeff were very responsive and once we arrived, they were so warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The process is pretty straight forward--we checked for our appointment time and the space and equipment was already set up for us. There was a large backdrop, the camera and computer screen, and then you use a clicker to take the photos yourself. I love this concept since you have total control over getting your preferred angles before snapping the shot. Portrait Space also had benches, chairs, and other fun props you can work with to get creative and switch up some of the poses. You choose a single solid color backdrop and have access to a multitude of benches/chairs/tables to use as props during the shoot. They have the most adorable holiday set up with several different props you can use. Everything was ready to go as soon as you walked in the door. Victoria and Jeff are also the sweetest couple you'll ever meet; they made us feel comfortable and at ease. They made the whole experience really fun and memorable! My son is only 15 months old and they were entertaining him the entire time trying to make him laugh and smile for the camera.
