Rachel was an absolute dream to work with, and we were lucky enough to have her shoot our engagement photos and wedding day. Rachel was exactly what we were looking for and more. I guess I will start with our engagement shoot, which I was extremely nervous going into. I have never enjoyed getting my picture taken and the thought of doing so for a couple of hours with my then fiancé, now wife, was an intimidating thought. Especially because I knew these photos were supposed to be filled with joy and romance and the thought of a stranger taking my picture wasn't joyful or romantic in my mind. I was an Oct. 8, 2022, bride and the reason it's taken me so long to get around to reviewing Rachel is because I keep opening up our gallery and going down an hours-long rabbit hole reliving the best day of my life. YOU NEED TO BOOK RACHEL. I was a little nervous ahead of our wedding because my husband and I are sooooo awkward and bad at posing and I was worried we weren't going to be cool enough lol -- but Rachel will make you look like badass modern Romeos and Juliets. My husband looks like a GQ model in all the photos, I looked like a princess, and somehow Rachel did this WITHOUT making us look like people we aren't, and completely capturing the essence of who we are together -- her eye is just that good. The photos you get will be real, authentic, and stunning. Rachel was a total professional in the lead-up to our wedding day and on the day of; she was clear about what information she needed from us and didn't waste anyone's time during that frantic last-minute planning period. During the wedding itself, she kept us to our timeline (we actually had EXTRA time, despite there being concerns from our planner that we'd have to cut our sunset photos entirely). She scared the groomsmen into behaving (she was great with them, and they were a distracted bunch lol) and she felt like one of the girls with the bridal party, making us all relaxed and natural. Looking through the final gallery, I was surprised at how many places she managed to be at once -- she got pictures of our guests arriving, of the church filling up, AND was magically there to catch an unplanned first look with my dad. How????? Time travel is the only explanation. (This is all to say, don't worry about her not having a second shooter -- she legitimately doesn't need one). Also, she is great with stressed-out parents; I think my mom wants to basically adopt her haha! And the photos. THE PHOTOS. I burst into happy tears every time I look at them -- they are treasures. From the magical fairy-tale-esque semi-poised photos to the candid pics of the dance party (it was her idea for my husband and me to pose with Rainier beers, and those ended up being some of the pictures I love the most!), she's great at adjusting for any tone the day takes, be it formal and serious or wild and frisky. Yes, she is pricier than other photographers out there, but also absolutely the best money we spent, and I don't hesitate or exaggerate to say that. You get to do this day ONCE, you want to remember it in all its spectacular detail, and Rachel will nail it.
