I called yesterday to see if I could get squeezed in asap for a hair cut for my long curly thick hair. I got a hair appt the next day for 1pm. Salon is in downtown Astoria, very clean, lots a seating is you have to wait, plenty of product to look at as well. Jeanne is a really kind and bubbly person, super easy to talk to and tell her what I wanted for my hair cut, she listened intently and gave me a quick 40 minute dry hair cut with layers, as I didn't need it shampooed or styles because I was headed to the gym. To update my original review, I still don't have anything good to say about my service at Posh. In fact, I received a message from the owner practically lashing out at me for my bad review. I did message her back in a last ditch effort to see if she would make any attempt to salvage my bad experience in her salon, but that proved useless. She again responded to me with nothing but hostility and refused to accept any wrongdoing on her part. I half expect another nasty message from her once she sees my update here. If you're looking for any kind of salon service in Astoria, I'd stay far away from Posh and the owner, Jeanne. read more

Updated my brassy-sad-split-end-balayage here with Jeanne(owner) and she also added some purples. I had a trim and she talked me into an aloe treatment(usually I say no but I'm glad I agreed). Staff was really nice and the salon was very clean. they also wore masks during the apt/screened before entry. Jeanne was able to add dimension to my sad existing balayage by lifting some sections and then she colored the rest. Found out she is an expert in color and used to educate on redkin! I feel lucky to find such a good place during pandemic. I'm super pleased with results. Was super easy to book online. read more

She is bizarre, I went immediately to another local salon and got it fixed and found out some interesting details about her. I went to the same stylist for 13 years and am VERY particular. When we moved to the area my biggest fear was finding a salon with a stylist I could trust. I went in for a wax and felt extremely comfortable and welcome so I booked an appointment for highlights and a much needed cut. Jeanne was beyond amazing!! She was friendly, attentive to my requests and I am SO THRILLED to have found her!! She gave my hair life again. My hair is beyond important to me. I booked a brow appointment. The salon was decorated pretty and very clean. This salon was highly rated on other sites. Decided to give it a try but I've very disappointed by the results. As you can see in my image of my brows afterwards, they are uneven, as you can tell by my right brow it is much thinner. I left unhappy but i also didn't want her to mess with my brows and make them worse so I paid for the service and left. I'm unsure on how she was okay letting me walk out of there without mentioning anything. My results should give you a reason to look somewhere else for waxing services. read more

I recently went in for a hair cut and a Brazilian wax. I've been waxing for years now, and although I prefer hard wax to strips, it wasn't the worst I've had. The haircut didn't leave me feeling very good, however. If you are used to shampoo/condition, cut & dry, then this is not the place for you. I sat down, was asked how much I wanted off, and she chopped away...dry hair and all. I wanted to cry when it was over. I love having long hair, so I don't want to go to cutting MORE off to fix it, so I will settle for the "weed-wacker special" for a couple months. At about 10:06 someone finally showed up and greeted me with, "you're cute for knocking, there's obviously nobody in there." I asked if it was normal to be late and was answered with "we work 60 hour weeks and can't always be here on time." What? No apologies. I said I was annoyed and she laughed. Girls were super nice and the shop was very clean and presentable. Beyond that four big things left me sour after this appointment. Got me in late after even showing up early, got the wrong color even though I gave an entailed warning to her about my hair/color, have spots where my hair is over processed (with the correct fillers I didn't think would do), got a longer time doing my hair due to venders talking about new products, and last after having a conversation about not styling my hair just blow dry I went home with sticky over sprayed hair I had to shower off. One of these I'd just blow off and still write a nice review. But my entire appointment went this way and I was ignored on everything I said. To boot it was a pricey experience. read more

It can be a bit of a stressful undertaking, trying to find a new stylist because it's a personal relationship you hope to build. You hope to find someone with talent and a great personality. Ashley Shaffer was my stylist and after a few humorous remarks that I made and hearing her giggle we quickly became friendly. What a relief! My first haircut with Jeanne, the salon owner, was mediocre, but everyone can have an off day so I went back for another try. First, I waited 45 minutes for my appointment. She was there finishing another client. Fair enough. However, as that client left and I sat there she continued to talk on the phone go to the front of the salon for lengthy social conversations with other people who came in. Work on an event she was planning, chat with other clients. Not once did she acknowledge that I was still waiting. When she finally did cut my hair she lopped it into a series of uneven layers, all of them blunt cut, something I had specifically asked her not to do. Then, against my express request, she pulled it straight and flat as she dried it. In her defense, I don't think she knows how to do anything else. When I left to meet a friend for lunch, before I said a word, she immediately offered to take me home so I wouldn't have to be seen in public. This was truly the worst experience, and the worst hair cut I've ever had. read more

I went in for a pedicure and it took an hour and a half. The pedicure was just a pedicure nothing special. She charged me $50 which is more than I have ever paid before. When I got home my toes were all sore. She cut each cuticle down too low to where they are raw. I will definitely not be returning nor would I recommend anyone getting a pedicure there. read more

I needed a haircut, I mean, really. needed. haircut. It had been several months and while I was visiting Astoria, I got the itch to get a trim. I looked up salons online and found several. I liked what the Poshe Salon offered, "pampering", their website also states that the have a reputation for "only the finest quality service". I visited the salon when I was out for a walk and asked if they could give me a trim. Right away, it felt like I was intruding on a private party and felt uncomfortable. The woman who responded to me said I could come back in half an hour and I said I would, against my better judgement. So, I went back. I told the stylist that I wanted a trim and told her what I was wanting. She asked me when the last time I washed my hair was, which was a little odd as I had just washed it a matter of hours ago-so I told her. I wondered if that was a legitimate question or a weird jab. She grabbed her scissors and tidied up her area then began to flat iron my hair. I must have looked at her funny because she then told me that they do "dry cuts" there. They don't wash and cut hair wet. They flat iron it, then cut it. Weird. As she was ripping my find hair out with the flat iron she wasn't paying attention to me at all, but carrying on a conversation with the other stylist. After she flat ironed my hair, it took her about 10 minutes to trim my hair before she sprayed it with hairspray and handed me a mirror to look at it. It looked awful. My hair looked like it was plastered to my head. I figured that the cut would be fine, I'd just fix it later, at least my ends were trimmed up. The stylist then told me that the cut was $35!!!! Now, I pay upwards of $40-$50 for haircuts in the Pearl District in Portland but that includes a wash, trim, style and personalized pampering, usually an hour long affair. I was at the Poshe Salon for no more than 20 minutes... for $35?? Plus tip??? I still tipped 15%, though I really really didn't want to. I do not recommend this place, period. So unnecessarily rude, so unprofessional and expensive. read more
