I'm writing this a week after getting a color and cut by Jenny. I still love my hair so so so much! I waited to see if there was anything I didn't like about it but honestly I just love it. I didn't have much layers, my hair looked like a bowl lol I asked her to put some layers and now it just falls perfectly anyway I lay it. First off Marks is a great guy, and an amazing stylist! I was in town for a day trip to a local brewery, when I met someone and I needed to get my grooming act together. I was sight seeing and came across Salon.STELLAR. The door was locked but someone came and greeted me anyway, after I explained that I just needed a haircut and a beard trim, he invited me in and it was only after we started talking that I found out that he was supposed to be off that day, feeling under the weather, they had already closed, and it was only by chance that he was even there at all. I was speechless, how amazing, someone who I had never met, opened their business and took time out of their day off after hours to help me out and save my date!! Omg I love this place!!!!! Marks did my hair and he did a FABULOUS job! His salon is simply adorable and really makes you feel at home. Even the outside of the building is cute. In love with everything about this place. Whimsical decor, chill ambiance, lovely humans, expert business. Came to Marks with a specific pixie cut in mind and some worries (I've had many butchered hair cuts), but he was impeccably sweet and most importantly understood EXACTLY what I wanted and achieved it effortlessly. I can't say enough good about my experience at STELLAR. I am new to the area and needed to find the right salon and stylist for my hair. It's very white so if the cut is not precise, the cut marks show and it is very obvious. I also work in a professional environment and need a cut that conveys the type of image that matches the job requirement. So - I was a little nervous. First of all, scheduling couldn't be easier. I called in, left a message and he called me back right away, and I got right in. Marks owns the building and lives upstairs so flexibility and convenience is one of his core values. The cute little purple building is conveniently located with street side parking and is well appointed. The interior is spacious, clean and comfortable. Marks has been in the industry for a long time and you can tell that he's mastered many techniques. He's laid back, friendly, and a good conversationalist. Brandy my nail tech moved here. Love Brandy for Mani/ pedi's. On a whim I scheduled an appointment with Marks. I'm growing out brassy blonde.. My natural color is LED.. As in white. I just was tired of the telltale line.. Gasp. Soo tacky, I wore my hair up all the time. Finally, I've let my hair down!! My cut is fantastic. White gradually turning into color.. Almost ombré....Marks is very personable. Just hate the full length mirror.. Need bigger capes to cover this body!!! Marks is the best colorist and stylist I have ever experienced. I have difficult thick coarse frizzy hair that always wants to turn brassy orange. He turned my hair the cool ashy brownish blond I have always wanted to have. His cut tamed the volume and frizz. His quality work comes not only from his artistic talent, but also in the way he takes his time and truly focuses on the hair. The salon has a relaxing comfortable atmosphere, with plenty of parking and flexible scheduling for appointments. I was also pleasantly surprised by his reasonable pricing. I am a one station salon owner in Gearhart and often don't have the time to do my own hair. Because I work alone, I can't lean on a co worker for regular touch ups either. I have lived in Astoria for 27 years and have visited my share of salons from Astoria, Warrenton and Seaside, but no more, my mane has finally found a forever home. I went for the first time two weeks after looking for a salon for over a year. Shelley was my stylist and she gave me the best haircut I have had in over twenty years. The cut was perfect and I love the style! It even looks good when it goes straight! We talked about doing a perm to give my perfectly straight hair some body and some curl.
