Whew.... we, Patty, and I just completed my 2020 taxes just in the nick of time. Totally my bad! I was the grand procrastinator. Sorry! I have been working with Patty for 15 years now beginning with my and my Ex's coffee shop. My wife and I had Patty work on our taxes. Normally, we do our taxes on our own, but we wanted to go to an expert because my wife was paid under the table and it was a little more complicated than normal. I wish we found an expert instead of Patty and Positive Balance. We sent our documentation in to her in mid-March. She didn't reply to that email or any follow ups until April 29th (where she asked for information that had already been provided). She barely got our taxes done on time, and she actually missed the deadline for multiple family members' taxes. We just found out now, months later, that we "elected" to defer payment on something we were never informed of. We now owe an additional $1232 that we were never informed of (just found out from an IRS letter), and our taxes ended up being about $1000 more expensive than it would have been through H&R Block. When we asked her about this, she said it was automatic (which goes against the IRS letter saying we "elected" this deferral) and gave no further explanation. When we reached out to her to figure this out, she continually cut me off and was incredibly rude. She claimed I cut her off and scolded me while I was trying to finish my explanation of the situation. She told me several times that I was "verbally abusive" and hung up on me for simply trying to finish my sentence. Patty tries to claim that she won't expand and bring on help because she holds herself and her work to a high standard, but I haven't seen that. I've seen her do a poor job with my taxes and be overwhelmed because she doesn't have help. If at all possible, go to someone else to get your taxes done. You'll save yourself headache and probably a large amount of money. read more

One star only because they didn't have less. Opened my business late 2021 didn't get one P&L until a year later when I asked for my statements that I gave her in Oct.2021 because I had hired someone to do the work. She had a fit and asked that I paid her for the work she had already done which was nothing. She ended up inputting all of my statements under misc. because she never went on to my bank account when I had given her all of my PW in 2021 but of course I had changed the a while back for what ever reason, she never noticed because she never did the work. So $65,000 under misc. unfortunately I let her do my payroll and the final quarter she worked on I paid her, but she held my 3rd return hostage until I paid her $1500.00 which I had to in order to pay my employees. Just had a works comp audit and she refused to hand over 1st and 2nd quarter so now I'll have to pay 20% premium. It's just been a NIGHTMARE!!! read more

This lady handled our taxes for a few years. First of all she is not a CPA, she has a certificate to be a tax preparer. In addition, our company has received multiple fines for documents she never filed going back to 2017. She charged us 400.00 a month for work she never did. All our w2s were late and we only knew about it when people called and complained. Which we were also fined for. I've asked for documents the IRS is requesting, that she was paid for and get no response. I would never do business with this woman who runs this questionable business out of one her bedrooms. read more
