First review I've ever left. I had an issue with my solar not producing power. I contacted this company was quoted 150 for a 1 hour diagnostic and if it can be a minor fix in that time it'll be done. if it's a larger fix, I would be told about it and given the opportunity to have the company fix it at a later date. I received the invoice for the diagnostic and it was $161. no biggie to me then the employees came for the diagnostic. the employees were amazing and stayed at my place for about 1 hour 15 minutes fixing what needed to be fixed. after it was fixed they told me what was fixed and left. the next day I receive a text from someone at the company claiming the bill would be $600+ for the time and hours on site. they told me this was after they discounted the price. I told them what I was told about the 1 hour of service and told them I was never asked if I would like the repairs done for that price. I explained how they only spent 1 hour on site. they then told me they will discount it to $500. I told them I have ring footage of the time they arrived and left along with what I was told and never explained that the cost would be $600+. after this they never responded. read more

I'd read about poor follow-up with some companies, but this company promises excellent care and insurance for any problems, such as weather damage. Every single person I worked with was kind, patient, and friendly as well as competent and hardworking. They were clear about each job they were to do, and they worked quickly--taking only a few minutes' break and finishing in just a few hours. (One even noted a black widow spider in our screen door and offered to take it and its egg sacs away. I was really grateful: I'm scared of the things. It only took a minute--when I checked back, the spider and their truck was gone.) read more

Positive Energy (PE) is the best solar installer in Santa Fe. PE does not know this, but I gave its proposal and one other to a friend enrolled in SFCC's Sustainable Technologies program. Both proposals were evaluated by students in his class and Positive Energy's proposal was judged the most comprehensive and the most accurate, with the best quality components. On that basis, I hired PE and I'm happy to report they did outstanding work from start to finish. Over many weeks, Genevieve Clayton patiently explained all of the steps of the process and my options. Once the permits and approvals were obtained, the PE team installed the panels on my second story roof in two days. All of the PE staff were willing to share their knowledge and expertise and patiently fielded my many questions. What I learned from this experience is that when choosing a solar installer, it is important to use a local, well-staffed company with years of solar installation experience. I live in a condo unit in a 1950s neighborhood in Santa Fe, NM. The electrical service in the neighborhood and the condo is not to the newest standard, plus there was only limited exterior wall space for installing the various electrical components needed. In summary, designing and installing the system was a challenge. Prior to Positive Energy Solar, I had contacted two other local solar installation firms, who were interested in the project, but ultimately lacked the knowledge, resources, and/or dedication to come up with a design. I had given up hope that it could be done, until someone shared with me their positive experience with Maria Hondros, a Sales Advisor at Positive Energy Solar, who exceeded all my expectations. She was extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and well connected to come up with a design that took all the constraints into consideration. At one point the design was about to be determined as not feasible due to some technical calculations. She took it upon herself to review the calculations and detected an error in the spreadsheet that was used by others in the calculation.
