Solar panels on second story roof.

Positive Energy (PE) is the best solar installer in Santa Fe. PE does not know this, but I gave its proposal and one other to a friend enrolled in SFCC's Sustainable Technologies program. Both proposals were evaluated by students in his class and Positive Energy's proposal was judged the most comprehensive and the most accurate, with the best quality components. On that basis, I hired PE and I'm happy to report they did outstanding work from start to finish. Over many weeks, Genevieve Clayton patiently explained all of the steps of the process and my options. Once the permits and approvals were obtained, the PE team installed the panels on my second story roof in two days. All of the PE staff were willing to share their knowledge and expertise and patiently fielded my many questions. What I learned from this experience is that when choosing a solar installer, it is important to use a local, well-staffed company with years of solar installation experience. There are many decisions to make and it pays to use a company with the professional knowledge and expertise to help explain all of the options. Positive Energy is that company.

I can't say enough abut the professionalism, knowledge, excellent product, and great service from Positive Energy Solar, from Maria Hondros in sales, to the crew who spent the last two days up on my steep metal roof installing my 3.0 kW system. They were efficient, skilled, safe, and did an excellent job. Thank you, Sebastian, Orin, Aaron, and Chris--you guys rock! I can't wait for PNM to hook my system to the grid so I can watch my meter run backwards as my panels generate clean power.

Owner tells people to; "Go back to their country." Nasty but of racism. (I edit review possible fake person taking name.)

All the staff - from sales,…read moreto techs, to company owner were wonderful, timely, intelligent, informative, and communicative throughout the installation process. Sandrine, a CST sales rep, is highly passionate about sustainable energy, well educated on solar, and did a fantastic job with her "solar presentation". I found her by accident - or by the grace of God, because I had already signed a contract to work with PositiveSolar Energy. But after signing the contract and putting down a $2000 deposit, the PSE rep called and told me they were going to have to add $4000 to my invoice due to an electric panel upgrade. I put the brakes on the project, then met Sandrine of CST by coincidence...and luck! CST put together a bid that was more than $4000 UNDER that of PositiveSolar Energy INCLUDING THE ELECTRIC PANEL UPGRADE, a 220 plug, AND an outdoor outlet! Wow! I called up my PSE rep and told him about CST's bid. He said he would see what they could do to reduce the price because, even if I forfeited the $2000 deposit, I would still be paying less with CST than with PSE. Well, long story short, PositiveSolar Energy couldn't come close, so to try and deter me from giving my business to Consolidated Solar Technologies, the rep started bad-mouthing CST, my rep Sandrine, and falsely stated CST was losing its contract with SunPower (the company whose solar panels we chose to have installed), and also stated CST was going out of business. ALL OF THIS WAS FALSE and simply a tactic to scare me into staying with PositiveSolar Energy - which I did not. Because of the lies and deceit conducted by a PSE representative, I was able to get the full deposit back and carry on with Consolidated Solar Technologies. CST got right to work assessing my roof, submitting permits to PNM and getting the installation completed. A SOLAR INSTALLATION IS NOT A FAST process because it requires third party approval. This is NOT CST or any solar company's fault. I think the installation process took just over two months from start to finish. The electric panel, solar panels, plugs, etc., are great and functioning perfectly. I LOVE being able to review our system's solar production at the end of each day or week. AND a $7 electric bill (payment to PNM for still being connected to the grid) is WAHOO!!! BEST OF ALL, the solar energy our system produces is more than we use in these summer months. This means we are building credit for the shorter and colder winter months AND the excess energy we produce during the long sunny days of summer is distributed through the grid to our neighbors' homes. SO...we are helping more than ourselves use clean, sustainable energy! Yay! It has been almost a year since the system installation was completed and turned on. We could NOT be happier. Additionally, we had golf-ball size hail this summer which damaged both of our cars, but DID NOT damage the panels. But if they had been damaged, SunPower panels are warrantied for 25 years! GO SOLAR! and Go solar with CST - Consolidated Solar Technologies! Thank you Sandrine, Alberto, Robert, the rest of the crew and James for saving us "a vacation's cost of money", for your top-to-bottom professionalism, AND for leaving things neat and tidy after the installation. It is my honor to refer friends and recommend CST to anybody who mentions the word SOLAR!

I knew going solar was more complicated than it needs to be. I feel like this presentation really clarified all I need to get solar and advocate for solar. Kurt informed us that "leasing" or allowing a "lean" against our mortgage is more harmful than helpful. Also, that the "very nice guys" who come to my house really are not from New Mexico, rather they are selling my desire for solar to a 3rd party and can cause issues in the future if there are problems. I don't want solar to be known for anything like this. Going green should be easy. I love how Kurt and Solar Works Energy makes this easy!!! Educating me on the "roll-over" on my PNM bill takes me back to the good 'ol days of cell phones and gives me comfort in knowing that what is mine is not lost. The saving stretch into those months during the year where we are a) charged more, b) use more. Yes, PNM charges more in the months we use more. *Mind Blown* Solar has never looked so good- I want the whole of New Mexico to be a production metering in the new future. Wouldn't that be great? Net metering right now before PNM is bought out to grandfather me into my solar bill sounds like a plan. This means we cannot sleep on this!!! Add the fact that financing solar is 5-10% less than what PNM charges and the bill does not change? This move is the same as planting 6,577 trees per year!! Removing 56 cars off the road per year!!! Driving 25k less miles per year!!! For me, a minimalist this is choice. 25 year warranty! Panasonic backed products. No cash down. Locally monitored. Federal (26%) and State (10%) tax credits. $25-$30k total. 40-60 days from start to finish (due to city of Albuquerque contracts). 36% tax credit. Indebted to the financing of solar for however many years you finance verse to PNM (or whomever) for the rest of your life. Increase the value of your home. Save Mother Earth. A company with ethics that is local. This feels like a win/win. Send them a copy of your PNM bill, see if it's right for you. Those COVID checks coming in while we are locked in the house... this will not be the last pandemic either. 10/10 recommend going solar with Solar Works!!
