Amazing team! Structured classes! Personal in home sessions! 24/7 support! Since my partner and I joined the PK9 community our lives have changed - initially we purchased the puppy pack for our baby golden retriever Leia and looked at purchasing additional sessions for our reactive 4yo kelpie x staffy Baylee. From the first call to PK9 they were flexible, willing to help and provide us with the best support possible. We were able to include Baylee in the in home sessions to make sure we were setting Leia up for success and make the decision of which dog we felt needed extra support each session. Mel was recommended to us to work with Baylee as a reactive dog and we will be forever grateful to the transformation in our house hold. We have been educated through ongoing support in the form of online videos, classes, Facebook group and texting with Mel who is ALWAYS happy to help and answer questions. Mel was able to break down the foundations of what we can do to help regulate our home environment and make sure that Leia continues to learn not only obedience but life skills. I had lost confidence in myself and strongly considered that Baylee might be happier on a farm but PK9 has shown us it's possible to turn things around and given us the tools to continue to learn with our poochies. Melissa at Pk9 has worked with us and our dog Cassie (4yrs, Sighthound X) for over a year now. Before we adopted Cassie in 2021, she had already been adopted and returned as she was "too much to handle." Cass was showing severe anxiety and reactivity towards other dogs, and later, we found out towards men and certain people. Our confidence was beaten, and we wanted to be the best for Cassie. We are so glad we chose to work with PK9 and Mel because we have all made amazing progress. I mean, we couldn't even take her for a walk without wanting to run back inside, haha. We can now walk Cassie with confidence Cassie has made doggo friends Her recovery time is much quicker (when reactive) She's happy!!! (& mostly calm) Recall has improved She listens! Mel and the whole team at Positive K9 are amazing. I have been training with them since my dog Elle was a young puppy. Elle is dog reactive and can get nervous with new people but with the support and guidance of Mel and all the other trainers, Elle is more confident with people and can go for walks without blowing up at dogs. Mel from Positive K9 has been amazing at helping me train my lively english Springer spaniel. She is great at reading the situation & then passing on strategies to manage Maples quirks.
