The name says it all. The pups are happy and safe, and the environment is carefully structured and monitored. They all know the routine and play nicely together, and there's a minimum of barking and stress. Our dog comes home tired and so happy! PP also has some nice treats, toys, and pup food for sale ~ that is very handy for those days that you need a little extra for your pup. And what dog would say "No" to a naptime kong treat? LOVE the facebook photos that are posted every day so you can see your dog enjoying playtime. The professionals who take care of the dogs are exceptional and incredibly cheerful and patient. They all take extensive dog and pet CPR training, so you know your pup is in good hands. So happy that PP exists and that we joined the gang. read more

I've tried out a few different doggy daycares over the years and this one is by far the best. All the people who work there are super friendly and both clearly love dogs and know how to work with them. The daycare's hours are great and they're even open on weekends. Over time they've begun offering more services like nail clipping and grooming, which is super convenient. And being able to schedule appointments by text (and now the new online system) makes everything even easier. Just a great overall experience! read more

This place is not too accepting of new clients. I had to keep following up with them on the status to get my toy poodle scheduled for eval. They were not quick to return my calls and they never responded to any of my emails. Finally got my dog scheduled for an evaluation after going thru all the hoops. Dropped him off and then called after a couple hours to check in. Sudee said he was doing great. Then when I picked him up, Diva explained he was misbehaving, so they kenneled him for the remainder of the day. No opportunity to train him to get reevaluated. In my opinion, they already have enough of a base clientele that keeps them super busy, too busy to take time for new clients. My first thought when they weren't returning my calls was that aren't too eager to get my business. It would be better for them to just be upfront and say they're not accepting new clients rather than making us go thru their rigamarole of requirements and then get a fail. read more

Positive Pooches is the former owners of Primo Petcare. They built this building from the ground up because they became so successful at their rented location. I applaud them for being smart business owners and investing the fruits of their labor into a greater purpose for their business. The run a great indoor operation for doggy daycare & boarding, including grooming and a little shop in the lobby. If you are considering taking your dog to daycare of boarding, please do your research. Most other facilities will keep your dog locked up in a crate all day and your dog will only be taken out 2-3 times a day to use the potty. If you want your dog to have any human or dog interaction, you will have to pay more. If you go to an establishment where your dog is in a 'dog run'... yes it will be "free", but I hope you realize that they just let the dogs pee/poop in the dog run and they scoop/spray it once a day. Nor will your dog have any human or dog interaction. Positive Pooches allows your dog to be free the majority of the time. If your dog is shy or smaller, there are separate areas. If you want your dog to be in his/her crate all day, there is a separate room for crating so he/she isn't being taunted by other free dogs. They take the dogs out to potty in regular cycles and they separate them for snack/feeding time. The dogs are crated when boarded over-night and you can bring your own doggy bed/blanket to make your dog feel more comfortable. Many other boarding establishments are not flexible or accommodating, and if they do, charge you extra. I am certain from my own research that you will be paying MORE to go somewhere else. It is apparent that they care about their business as they use and sell quality products, have friendly & professional workers, and have great PR including newsletters, FB pictures/videos posted daily, email correspondence, holiday events, handmade Christmas cards, giving back to the community, and participating in local events. First time boarding my dog at this location over Labor Day weekend and it went great. My dog is not very social & I was hoping occasional doggy daycare & boarding would help and it has. So far I like this place the best and will have no problem bringing her here again. Friendly staff, clean & well organized. My only complaint is they either didn't have enough water in her kennel or they didn't change them out enough. My pup was parched when I picked her up and it was horribly hot Labor Day weekend. read more

The worst excuse for a dog daycare you could imagine. Our dog was closed off from other dogs from 9:30am to 5:30 for simply not using the bathroom when they found it to be the right time for her. No effort was made to contact me nor my mother who lives two blocks away who also used to send her dogs here until this incident. Nothing was communicated at all until my mother went to get her since I was out of town. When I called and asked for a manager I was told by the person who answered that there was none around. After a few minutes of realizing my frustration she then claimed she was the owner. So she lied to me when I called in order to try and avoid my claim. Also i tried to explain what if some one did this to a child, and carols response was "they would probably be in a diaper". Claimed that this is the policy on their website which me nor my mom could find. My girlfriend was in tears over the treatment of our dog. Any one who cares about their dog do not send them here. My mom recalled one of her dogs being isolated when she picked them up and the girl claimed she was "training" although she was on the computer. It all adds up this place is a sham ran by people who do not care about anything than a quick buck. I cannot believe this place read more

I checked out all the local doggie daycare places in my area before settling on Positive Pooches for my Lab puppy. I chose them for several reasons. First, most of the other daycares had SO many dogs cooped up in a space with nothing to do but mill around all day! And one place even said "oh we aren't very full today" - I was appalled! There was no way a dog could find a quiet corner to relax alone. They felt more like warehouses than places where dogs would have fun. At PP, the dogs have room to play, but also raised beds to sleep on and toys to play on and with. Plus, they crate all dogs for a two-hour midday break, which is crucial for puppies and even adult dogs to give time to rest (not to mention, it's good for the staff to have a break too). Second, at PP, they take the dogs outside to potty on a regular basis. Most of the other daycares I looked at either didn't have any outside access or didn't let the dogs out if it was raining or muddy outside (read: most of the year here!), so all the dogs are forced to go potty on the floor. Not a good environment for any dog, but certainly not a puppy being housetrained. I tried out one of these places, but my puppy smelled so horrible when he came home that I had to bathe him. It was not the normal doggy smell from playing with other dogs, but a stale urine/kennel smell from an unclean floor. He never smells bad when he comes home from PP. Third, the staff is great with the dogs at PP. Some daycares have constant barking all day long from multiple dogs (so that the staff has to wear ear protection!). One place I visited had just one staff member to watch all the dogs and his only way to control them was to constantly squirt them with a spray bottle. Each time I've come in to drop off at PP, things are pretty darned calm. It's obvious that the staff has multiple options in their arsenal to make sure everyone gets along and that there is some standard of good behavior required of the dogs (including asking for a Sit before going out the door). PP has a minimum 3-hr evaluation before accepting a new dog, and is very careful on setting up introductions at the eval. When I asked another place how they would introduce my puppy, the owner said "We'll just put him in with all the dogs, and they'll flood him and then he'll be fine." This is an awful technique and demonstrates the lack of canine behavioral knowledge of that place compared to PP. And last, I don't want to neuter my puppy until he's fully grown at 18 months or older. This is becoming more and more widely recommended by veterinarians. Most daycares have a rule of no unneutered dogs over 6mos of age with no exceptions, but PP was willing to allow my intact puppy to continue to come to daycare until/unless his hormones started causing an issue with the other dogs.
