There's nothing I love better than browsing a high-end magazine like this, dreaming over the designer kitchens, bespoke clothes, and incredible antiques. I would assume it is widely circulated but I went on the web site and they didn't list where it could be picked up. However, luckily enough, you can read the issue right on line (see? it pays to do a little research). The best article in the current magazine is by Walter Griggs who always does a great job picking out interesting tidbits of Richmond history. This particular article talks about the time when the "Train of the Future" came to the still open Broad Street Train Station (now the Science Museum of Virginia). The account is a wonderful glimpse into a world when trains were still "high tech" and things of wonder. There is also a great article on "Urban Playground" which sheds light on some great places for the urban sportsman and adventurer. It focuses on Richmond's bike and hiking trails, white water rafting, and climbing spots. I definitely learned something new for sure. The magazine is a handy size and is divided into dining, lodging, events, galleries, performing arts, exploring and "Spring" (they do a season for each publication) There are many local publications that spotlight the happenings going on in Richmond, "Style" and "Brick" first come to mind, but the Richmond Guide never fails to tell me something new about my city. This, accompanied by the fact that it isn't trying to be anything else, makes it worth picking up.

Sharing some of the demographics that make Style Magazine so popular, Brick seems to be cutting out a niche of younger readers left in the dust by Style many years ago. Brick focuses on live music, cultural events, and art happenings around town and the region. The See It, Hear It, and Do It sections are all devoted to these genres. Brick comes out every Thursday and is easy to grab at local downtown, Fan, Museum District and Carytown restaurants and hipper businesses. Lastly the Find It sections include classifieds, great comics, and ends up with the crossword at "Solve It". A good little rag to keep up with the more underground happenings, especially in the live music scene for sure.

While our company is based in CA, we had an event in Richmond, VA and I needed a vertical banner…read moreASAP and was wary to transport one there and back. Plus, I had a very tight timeline of 3 days, and no other printer could offer any assurance the banner would be ready/delivered in time. I found one of Keith Fabry's websites and ordered an overnight bannerstand for pickup at their office. I uploaded the file in the early moring hours and it was printed and ready for pickup the same day! Even though my flight landed later than scheduled, Debra took care of me and I was able to get the banner in plenty of time for the event. As for the banner, I paid for upgraded material and it came out looking great and was packed very well, so I was able to transport the banner via checked baggage on my return flight without issue. While KF may not be the least costly, their pricing is fair for their amazing turnaround and excellent customer service. Plus, they offer printing for Canva files which makes printing large items even easier for the casual designer or ad-hoc sign needs. Another shoutout to Debra and the entire team at KF!
