We wanted to support a local business to print them and decided on Wythken. They had amazing customer service - I don't print often and they were extremely patient while I worked to get the correct file format over to them. While we were there they offered to also handle the envelope printing and mailing as well, and gave a clear, fair estimate for the invite prints only and the additional option of envelopes & mailing. 4.5 I needed simple wedding programs and they delivered. They couldn't give me a quote over the phone but I was able to get one fairly easily in person with some samples. The price seemed pretty fair to me and I was tired of DIY projects right before the wedding. We had to redo parts of the program after a proof was done due to different Word versions and I ended up sending a PDF which fixed things. From start to finish it took 6 days to get estimate, proof, and then final product. Parking is a little annoying as it is in the heart of VCU/Grace St. but I was able to find it eventually. I would not hesitate to use them again for printing needs. read more

Had a print made on canvas and it came out perfect! I called ahead for a quote and the price was very fair and service was quick. They were very helpful and professional- will definitely go back to them if I need more printing done in the future. Only issue I ran into was difficulty with finding the building... it's kind of hidden from the street but they were so good at helping to direct me to the right place when I called for help! read more

I have to give a HUGE 5 STARS to Wythken for their customer service. I was having a minor melt down...I had ordered beautiful wedding invitations with our return address pre-printed on the envelopes. In my head I would just create a mail merge document, print these on my home printer, and be all set! Much to my chagrin my home printer ate and destroyed my envelopes. So- no problem. Ran to a big box chain, we will call them "Stapless" and "Kinkoss." Both of them told me they were NOT printers and could not print on envelopes. They wouldn't even try. And both were quite rude. I called up Wythken, they took their time, explained it could be tricky, but they would TRY. They were friendly, helpful, patient and FAST! If it didn't work they wouldn't charge me. They were detailed oriented, made sure they had the font that I wanted, and things were aligned. After uploading my files, dropping off my envelopes, two hours later I got a lovely confirmation phone call: They had been successful! My envelopes looked amazing! I did a large order for a class project this year (well, large for me, probably small for them), and the order turned out beautifully. I received around 50 18x24 printed portraits, half of which were mounted on foam core board. All the images were beautifully, the owners very patiently worked with me during the printing process, and they were available very quickly. read more

I used to lo-o-ove Wythken. The staff is really friendly and casual, the turnaround is fast (usually you can get your things in a day) and it's just a nice feeling place to be in. I'd rate them five or four stars except...The last few times I've been in here the quality of the things I've printed hasn't been very good. It's only looked a tiny bit better than if I'd done it myself at home. They were very generous with one job and offered to redo it. Another job was my fault because I'd said, "cards". When the general public thinks "cards, I think we think of what we get in the store, a greeting card. With printers, they mean a flat card, like a post card. Since it was my fault for not being more specific, I paid for the cards and didn't mention it. I think I would have asked for them to reprint the cards as greeting cards, but I wasn't exactly happy with the quality so I just redid them in a professional printing house online. The cards had looked alright in the store but when I got them home the cardstock was thinner and the print was more matte and flat-looking than I'd expected it would be, based on the paper I'd picked out with the associate in the store. I'll definitely support local business by going to Wythken if I were printing up say, a report or a large amount of flyers. I think in the future though, I'll go online for things I want super glossy, like photographs or greeting cards. They're great for large number or large scale printing. They do most of the glossy flyers you see around town and the banners I've seen them turning out look great. They accept all credit cards. read more

So far i've been really impressed with this place. I had absolutely no clue about what I was doing. I needed nice prints of my artwork to sell. The person at the front desk walked me through the process and was very nice. I also had a problem with a larger print from another shop. Needless to say I won't be going back there. I took the problem print in and asked them about it, it turns out they can help me out with that print too! I'm very excited to make the next step in my online business possible through prints and happy that this place is nice enough to help me out. I wish they had a bigger scanner though. read more

I seldom write reviews, but my experience with this place was so terrible I felt the need to warn others at the extreme unprofessionalness of this place. I went there to have some prints made of my artwork. I came in and was greeted promptly, then I was led to a scanner, where a guy spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to work the scanner, saying he was new. Another person came over to help.Then, when that was eventually done we went to the computer to talk about the other details. They started to talk with me, but when the phone rang or someone else would come in, they both would just leave me sitting there. After 15 minutes I realized they clearly did not really value my business, and left. If they had been sincerely apologetic I wouldn't have minded nearly as much. I was desperate for prints, and decided to give them a second chance before I wrote them off. They said the prints would be ready that day or the next day(Saturday). I came back Monday to get the prints and was told they were still not ready, but they would call me later in the afternoon. Again, no apology for having not met the deadline they had set. It took me threatening to take away my business before they finally finished it. And when I came in to get the prints, the guy there not only didn't apologize, but acted like I was lucky he was bothering with me. The final work was good, but not worth the terrible experience. read more

They helped me put together an enlarged photograph framed in plexiglass. Not only did they complete the work, but helped navigate what could have been a difficult process. Even offered to trim and cut into sections, though I originally forgot to mention that was the intended goal. I also had business cards printed. Very professional and helpful. read more

I am a member of a non-profit volunteer local chorus in Richmond. Wythken has done much of our printing for a number of years, including full-color small posters and the grayscale programs for our three concerts a year. The staff is very friendly and professional, and they really go the extra mile to make sure "we're on the same page," as we are not up with the terminology that is used in the business.Best of all, they go out of their way - literally - to make sure we have our orders when we need them. One of the owners has actually brought programs to my home more than once! You just can't go wrong using this locally-owned (and the owners are very hands-on) business. read more

I had a terrible time with these people on 8/11/14. I called ahead and asked them for help printing and faxing something, and they said sure come on in. Ten minutes later when I arrive and ask for help, it turns out their printer is in use for the next hour at the minimum... I would just go to the VCU library if you have that opportunity. This company potentially cost me a job. read more
