Our last visit here the rooftop was closed, so we were happy it was open this trip (we went twice)…read more Great views of the historic downtown Hot Springs area. They have bar and table service, and food offerings available. We only had drinks but the food offerings looked fantastic. We enjoyed that at least on our visit, the volume was minimal which allowed us to converse without yelling. Thank you for providing an enjoyable experience in the heart of town

I saw this place from a hike up toward one of the peaks, and on a hot summer day all I wanted to do…read morewas sit wherever that lovely rooftop was. We kept it in our sites as we descended, and found it to be on the 6th floor of the Avenue Hotel. Its outdoor seating area was lovely. On one side you're just in the tree tops. The other side looks over an underwhelming cityscape, but that's not Rooftop's fault. It's still just nice to be on a rooftop! It started to rain not long after we arrived. We moved under the patio cover, and that was a lovely way to watch and hear the rain until the wind really picked up and we moved inside. It was only around 4pm so we both ordered the mocktail on the menu. It's the only one and pretty simple, but it was quite delicious -- muddled strawberry and 7up. I bet it would be even better with Ginger Beer! Maybe a little high in price for the small size and no booze, but oh well. As the rain continued, we decided to share an appetizer to wait it out. We ordered an olive hummus which was surprisingly decent (I'm not an olive fan normally) with pita chips. I wasn't a huge fan of the pita chips, but they served as a perfectly fine delivery mechanism for said hummus. The staff there was really nice and seemed to get along and share duties well -- in a small place you notice things like that and it made an impression.

We always strike-up an interesting conversation with people sitting at the bar. Several local beers on tap and we had the Space Force, an IPA, on both visits....very good. We split a Reuben sandwich with fries and it was excellent. I also ordered a side of fried okra, which was delicious and so hot, I had to let it cool before eating. The bartenders are always friendly and will talk if time allows. The whole place has a great vibe. Speaking of the okra, I noticed that on my bill I was charged $13 and change for it. I thought WOW, but gladly paid the bill. The more I thought about it, I figgered it must be an error. On our second trip, I mentioned it to the bartender and asked if it were possibly an error. It was an error and she asked me how to make it right (there was a logical explanation for the error). I made it clear that I was not complaining, just wanting clarification. She asked if a complimentary order of fried okra was OK....certainly! Great place and a Hot Springs icon. Highly recommend and dont skip it.

Not only is the Ohio Bar an antique haunted restaurant it's an icon and a total beauty! Service: These girls here after eating here 2 days (what's up with restaurants being closed on a Tuesday??? The atmosphere is interesting, bit of that renovated warehouse vibe. We were definitely underdressed compared to everyone else, but there was no mention of a dress code, and if it was a problem, they wouldn't have seated us. The server took 10+ minutes to acknowledge us, and said she'd be right back with water. Another 10 minutes and she came to get our order, and said she forgot the water. Probably another 5 minutes and we finally got some. We ordered some drinks and a charcuterie board to split, as we weren't super hungry that evening. The server was a bit condescending that we didn't order entrees, saying "oh no entrees? you just wanted to try us out, I get it!" No lady, we actually just wanted some finger foods and booze. The charcuterie was very good, and worth the price. But we didn't see the server again until we were ready for the check. So, we did not feel very welcome. Hopefully other servers are more friendly to everyone, even if they're not ordering three courses.
