This is a fairly standard Pottery Barn, if you are looking for furniture ... but they never seem to have as much sale or clearance items, as other stores do. It's pretty much all out on the floor and mostly couches and chairs. They have 2 beds ... 2 headboards ... and 1 or two dining tables. If you are looking for living room furniture, 80% of this store is that, along with bedding, blankets, vases and table wear. The staff here is pretty haughty. They'll come up to you, if you look like you have money ... but for the most part, they kind of hoover around the registers. The exception being the gentleman who works there. He is pretty chatty and helpful when he's working and we pretty much only deal with him because he's the only one who comes over to help us. The main thing is that you can't purchase anything from the store off the floor, furniture wise. You have to order it and often they say it will take a couple weeks to ship ... but most times the item is on back stock and takes months or more to ship. We ordered a couch from there and were told 3 weeks ... it ended up taking 6 months! Never again will we order, unless it's a display piece. Another thing is, despite the high prices, the furniture isn't made very well. Our leather chairs are starting to show wear and the paint is wearing off ... the dining table is scratched and worn after only a few months. In the future, we will stick to only buying accessories from here and buying furniture elsewhere from a brand that doesn't show a lot of wear right away. read more

Dont buy from there. they don't care about you. I had ordeded a bed. wouldn't deliver until night stands came in. they were back ordered and don't tell me. I cancelled the order and had to rebuy. day before delivery they cancelled delivery because they damaged the headboard. finally delivered the bed. the headboard wasn't fixed and didn't sent all the parts. ordered another one and after ordering months before it finally came. gave me a minuscule credit that didn't even equal the delivery charge. They dont care because they know people will buy. read more

I love Pottery Barn stuff, it's well made, stylish and fairly priced. This time, I went to get some candles as gifts and their variety of scents was really good. The place is very big, so it's hard to find staff if you have any questions, they are just not walking around looking to answer your question. You have to actually go to where they are and ask for assistance. That's fine. The Pottery Barn company was co-founded in 1949 by Paul Secon and his brother Morris in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Paul discovered three barns full of pottery from the factory of Glidden Parker in Alfred, New York, who had stored extras and seconds up the road from the business. That's where the name comes from. The company was acquired by Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in 1986. Its mail-order catalog was first published in 1987. Plenty of parking at this large location in Garden City. read more

I purchased the Big Sur sectional. It wasn't cheap. It has a funny gas like smell that after 4 weeks has not gone away. The cushions also dip towards the arms making for an uncomfortable seat. It wasn't like this in the store. I wanted to exchange for another sofa and customer service will not allow me to as it's a custom order. I understand that but just wanted to exchange as this one isn't feeling right at all. My whole house is furnished with pottery barn, I'm so disappointed with the customer service that I have received with this issue. What is happening to Potterybarm?? Don't make a big purchase here!! Awful customer service, the return policy is terrible. Purchased a relatively inexpensive item, it did fit our needs so we wanted to return it. Didn't have the paper receipt, we told them we were rewards members and normally get an email receipt and asked if they could look it up. They wouldn't, paper receipt or no return. Okay. What they didn't know is that I was there to possibly buy a very expensive recliner. So they played hard ball on a $40.00 Item and lost the opportunity to sell a $2000.00 chair. If you wouldn't help us with a $40.00 problem, I certainly don't want to chance a big ticket sale with a company with such inflexible policies. read more

Okay, okay, okay... Yes, it's a Pottery Barn. Yes, it's full over overpriced machine-made furniture, throw pillows and dishes. I know this. But I don't care, I love it. I love this Pottery Barn in particular because it's enormous, has a great selection and they have amazing customer service. Amazing as in they go above and beyond to help you out, and are even excited for you when you find something you love, as I recently did when I came upon the perfect outdoor table for my patio. At 60% off. Unscratched, unscathed, unused - it was perfect and I knew this on first site. The woman working there was so excited for me, I think it might have actually been the deal of the century. Another thing that's cool about this PB is the design center. A staff member with the proper training will actually sit down with you and help you customize your space with their products through a super nifty computer program. Drapes, rugs, sofas, even paint color! SO helpful and I seriously wish they'd had this contraption when I was renovating and decorating my 100-year-old house. Parking is tight, as it always is in GC but if you get there first thing in the morning or even during a weekday, you'll get this barn all to yourself, go nuts and perhaps even find your dream furniture at 60% off. read more

I wouldn't buy a sofa here if they gave it to me for $10. Ugh. I had a horrendous experience with the delivery of an expensive loveseat. It took forever and ever and ever. Customer service was AWOL. After the order was placed, absolutely no one cared except the sales associate herself. The comfort level of the piece of furniture is terrible. Much more firm than their equivalent on the selling floor. Totally misrepresented. So unhappy with the purchase. Buyer be very aware!!!!! read more

Not the fault of this location but it's the closest one! We ordered a crib and two attachments to eventually make it into a bed. The attachments arrived on time. The crib was ordered in May of 2021 and was initially set to arrive September 2021. Our child was due November 2021. In July the receipt date was pushed back due to October, then in August it was pushed back to November, then in October it was pushed back to December. Our son was born on 11/1, so December was still fine. A week after his birth, they pushed it back again to February. At this point we realized we were not going to have the crib in time, so we canceled our order. Now, they have the audacity to charge us return shipping of $30 for the parts that go with the crib that never arrived. This is unacceptable nonsense and if there was any semblance of customer service we would have not only gotten a free return, but a gift card for a future purchase. Will never shop with West Elm, Pottery Barn, or Pottery Barn Kids again unless they have the product in stock. I understand there are supply chain issues, but if you cannot fulfill an order, you are supposed to say you are out of stock so the customer can look elsewhere. You do NOT accept a customers money for an order that cannot be fulfilled. read more

I am not sure how this store could get any better. No matter what I am in Garden City for I always make it a point to stop in at the barn. (To be truthful, most of the time I am there to specifically go to PB.) I love wandering around looking at all the decor. I could spend hours walking through. Looking, touching and imagining these beautiful items in my home. I am a bargain hunter so if you check out the corners they normally have a clearance section in each area. The last time I was in and purchased something I ended up bringing home two beautiful duvets sets complete with all the matching and corresponding pillow covers. If you need help with anything the staff here is always willing to help. They have design specialists ready to answer any and all of your questions. They will even go to your home to help you with paint colors, furniture placement or even designing your entire space from start to finish and for FREE! From rugs to drapes and full on dining sets this place has it all. The holidays are fast approaching and the last time I was there, they had a sampling of all the holiday decor which is soon about to take over the store. What I love most about PB is anytime you purchase something they ask if it is for a gift, and if the answer is yes, they will wrap it for you. But not like your typical mall wrapping job, this is beautifully adorned with cute trinkets and all. Thank god they moved from downtown at Providence Place to Garden City, the newer location is gorgeous, adorned with reclaimed old barn wood and doors as high as the sky! It's huge and its a pottery barn! This space was much bigger than i was expecting. They have a lot of stuff in there...almost too much to the point of being cluttered. They showcase everything from nice rugs, window treatments, bed frames, desks, couches, more knickknacks and decorations than you can count, and even place settings. We found out that for some items they will send out a 'consultant' to your home to help you design a look or in our case help customize their modular office desk. They do this for free, which is just the right price! read more

I originally was going to post a negative review because of a series of problems I had with some orders but after I discussed the issues with the manager they worked really hard to rectify the situation and help me out. So I know Pottery Barn can be expensive and some people think we are crazy, but I love the store and love the style and what they have. We did have a few issues with a couple different pieces of furniture that were delivered. After the second delivery of our couch and it still not being right I was pretty much in tears when I called the store in Cranston. Patricia Dick who is the store manager (and by far deserves to be) took total control of the situation she was my only phone call and I had to do nothing further, she got the company to replace the couch and checked on me regulary right up until the date of delivery. She is what customer service should be. I hope Pottery Barn values her as an employee. I will shop at this Pottery Barn over and over again just because I know that if there happens to be an issue which lets face it mistakes happen, She will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and do everything possible to resolve the problem.
