One of my items has been showing preparing to ship for weeks and they refuse to send my other items until the other item makes it from the west coast to the east coast. Pottery Barn is not a business of integrity. My daughter and I went into this store to pick out furniture for our home. We picked out a few items that were on display in the store. Then the lady helping us who was one of the managers said this piece of furniture would not arrive for six months; another for four months, etc. due to being held up at ports. Too, there would be a delivery fee of almost $300 for each item, I told the lady to cancel the order. She said she did. My daughter asked her for a receipt showing the order was canceled but she brushed it off and didn't give us anything. We left the store and bought furniture elsewhere. A few days later+ a charge for over $3200 appeared on my credit card. I Immediately disputed the charge. Pottery Barn fought back saying I had ordered custom furniture so my credit card company reversed the credit. I am appealing. Is this store so desperate for sales, they have to cheat and lie? read more

I purchased a $700 ceiling fan from Pottery Barn. It stopped working 12 months after purchase and professionally installed. Pottery Barn will not replace the ceiling fan or offer any assistance in repairing it. The graciously offered a 10% discount should I purchase another from them. read more

I went to look at rug swatches and found one I liked , oh but it's discontinued and only 2 stores (one in Michigan and other in California) have it but I have to call them and figure out how to ship it. Ok.... never mind 2 weeks later I went back in to look over swatches again, and again found one I liked. Oh but that one is completely discontinued and cannot be ordered or found anywhere?!?!?! So please explain me why your store is in such disarray that you couldn't pull all these discontinued rug swatches????? Come on, you have 5 employees acting overwhelmed, one of you couldn't read the email sent to you from corporate explaining these swatches need to be pulled??? They act overwhelmed with 3 customers in the store shopping. I had a sales person begin to help me at the register then walked away and helped someone else, then the other cashier started helping the lady after me while I was left standing there rather dumbfounded. read more

She was the most polite, informative, and caring salesperson/manager I have ever encountered! Purchased a leather couch from the store and not online in the hopes of better customer service in case an issue arose. The couch came damaged in shipping. No problem. They sent me a new one, but it too was damaged. 5 couches later still stuck with a damaged couch. Called the store and they sent me to customer service call center to resolve my complaint. Now the call center won't return my calls. This has been going on for over a year. What was the point again for ordering through the store? Guess what PB... you won, and I give up. This review is my only recourse. Should have gone to Restoration Hardware. This $3K couch probably cost me another $7K in time. read more

The store was not busy AT ALL and the sales people acted like they were bothered to have to help someone. The back area for design was filthy. I went to look at rugs. The ones they showed me were so dirty I couldn't tell what color they were. I had to move a sofa to get an idea of the correct color. The sales lady did a fantastic job of talking me out of buying 3 large rugs. She explained that the colors of the rug are very different per rug and that the rugs show wear really quick. Lucky for her she didn't have to do her job and write up an order because I left without buying the rugs I had already decided on from online. All she had to do was have a CLEAN sample and write up an order. All is well, Crate and Barrel had an amazing selection. Done! read more

Really disappointed. Our family came in and wanted to purchase the floor model leather couch. Asked about it and were told it was on 24 hour hold. Asked to leave our number in case the person didn't come back for it. The employee disappeared into the back and never returned. We spoke to another employee and asked the same thing. She said that she was the one who had it on hold so that she could use her gift card tomorrow for the sale. Sad that one of your employees would be allowed to do this. We are new to the area. Just bought a house here and we have absolutely no furniture and really needed this. We ended up having to purchase the floor model out of the Nashville location which is a different couch. Employees dodged us because they didn't want to admit that their own staff was taking it because they knew about a sale. Really disappointed. read more

I bought these plates from pottery barn last year and got them out to wash before use. They say dishwasher safe. Well I guess not!!! They are cheap and crap! Horribly made. I got the matching plastic cups and they are already cracked. Pottery barn used to be quality and now they are way below. The staff is horrible and rude and completely unhelpful also. They charge a lot and look what you get. I will be taking my money and business else wear. Maybe it will be appreciated and respected and i know i will definitely get better quality. I purchased the Ella chandelier off the floor at Pottery Barn and they held it for me until I could pick it up for my new house. When I picked it up and brought it home I open the box and I thought oh there's no wrapping there's no paper there's no nothing. It looks as if they open the box and threw it in because half of the bulbs were broken and I guess I have to like get a potato to be able to get them out of the socket. Just very poor customer service I might as well of gotten it from a garage sale. Update someone named Susan got back to me but it took me awhile to get back to her Is she MIA? Who knows UPDATE 6/18 Sharon at pottery barn has resolved this issue and I am very satisfied with the out come. I will continue to shop pottery barn!!! read more

I would like to go on record that I have had nothing but trouble since I purchased furniture and accessories from Pottery Barn. They are by far the worst retailer that I have ever had to deal with. The bank that is attached to their credit card, Comenity Bank is also beyond subpar. I have been going in circles for the last month trying to get an award certificate for $175 applied to my account. Pottery Barn says that the certificate was applied on 5/3 but the bank claims that it wasn't. I was told by the bank that I will need to make a minimum payment in order to avoid a late fee and interest charge when in fact, once the payment is properly applied, they will owe me money. Having spent over $6000.00 with Pottery Barn, I cannot begin to express my exasperation with both this retailer as well as their credit card provide. Do yourself a favor and do not shop with Potter Barn. read more

I love Pottery Barn. This one, however, is not up to snuff. When I got married, we registered at Pottery Barn. I had many returns because I did a horrible job registering and ordered items that I had absolutely no need for or no place to store-- whooops! Each time I tried to make a return here was an absolute disaster. Trekking through the mall with oversized boxes was bad enough, but when I arrived at the store, the service was repeatedly awful. After approaching one cash register, the lady completely ignored me and my mom (both carrying multiple, huge boxes) while continuing to work on the computer. After about 4 minutes of no acknowledgment, we went to a different cash register. The lady was clearly overwhelmed by our return request, and it took almost an hour to complete our transaction. Each time I had to return items, I received the same service. It got to the point where I would stock up my returns and take them with me on work trips to cities with Pottery Barns and go there instead. Additionally, a couple of months ago, my husband and I ordered a custom chair. We had received an online coupon waiving the processing fee (about $90), and I wanted to see if the store could beat the price we were getting online. The manager convinced me to order the chair through the store for the same price and let me know that the chair would be delivered to my house no later than August 4. The online delivery date was July 29, but I figured that doing business locally was worth the additional delay. On August 11, I called the store because I had not been contacted about delivery, and we were already a week past due. The lady I called had no record of my purchase and assured me she would call me back. After a few hours, I did receive a call back saying that she found my order, but it was backordered because the store did not receive the shipment they were expecting and the new date of delivery was between August 29 and September 11. Without calling, I would not have been notified of this change, and I find that unacceptable. Receiving a large purchase a month after promised delivery is not okay. While the quality and style of Pottery Barn items are great, I recommend purchasing from a different store. read more

Pottery Barn would like for you to buy a $800 for a Christmas tree online based on one photo. If you don't like it you can pay the $50-$100 shipping to send it back. Trees on display in store are just that, custom design styles for displaying ornaments, you would not want one in your home. read more

Second time to visit this store and just had my second poor experience. No acknowledgement from employees. I had to interrupt two workers gossiping behind the counter to inquire about Christmas frames. She pointed to a bookshelf and said, "they were right there". I had to assume they were sold out. No help locating some online or at another store. Didn't walk me over to double check on the product. They went on about there conversation as I continued to walk around the store with no acknowledgement from anyone else. I love the PB style but there customer service is horrible and their quality has declined over the years. read more

After narrowing down places where my fiance and I wanted to register at, I thought Pottery Barn would be a great idea. I signed up online and we planned to go to the store on my fiance's only day off. As we walked in, there were about 7-9 staff members bouncing around the store at 3pm on a Tuesday and while we went room to room, not a single person acknowledged us in the 10 minutes we were in the store- not even a greeting as we walked in the door. We were blankly looked at and then quickly passed by. We may not be the 50+ yr old dollar signs that workers jump to help but even in our mid-20s we could have easily dropped 5k in the store even if we weren't planning on registering. Maybe we're biased from working in customer service for all of our working lives (car sales, bartending, restaurant, retail, management, etc.) but the number one rule is to acknowledge the customer and employees are there to sell. As we were leaving one girl smiled at us but that was it. Won't be going back, won't be registering because I'd rather my guests not spend money in a business who doesn't value their customers. read more
