Horrible customer service. Delivery scheduled, took off of work, then delivery never showed up. They claim my sofa was lost and they have no clue where it is. Contacting customer service does not help at all. It has been such a frustrating experience, especially spending a significant amount of money for 2 sofas. I must have browsed in this mall stalwart on countless occasions killing time before a movie at the adjoining AMC theater and have never seen fit to purchase a damn thing. Correction. I kinda remember spilling twelve bucks on an after Christmas ornament featuring Charlie Chaplin and a waif bearing gifts. It always winds up on the back of the tree. Never a greeting of any kind as the staff seems otherwise occupied ringing up non-existent sales as they enjoy their Chardonnay buzz. The goods are cute to the point of gastric upheaval and represent the very best of low quality imported junk. Three thousand large for a pine couch that looks like a refugee from Ikea. Dinner plating festooned with cows that will be out of style before you hit the parking lot. This fool is steering clear. At least with Pier 1 out of the way they may pick up some well-heeled stragglers who still have more money than brains but there's probably not enough of them to force a proper greeting from the staff. Will NEVER buy from Pottery Barn again! I've been a great customer, spend a lot on furniture and decorating. Everything I've ordered lately has a fake delivery estimate. The dates have been off by weeks and months! waiting for a piece of furniture that going on 3 months where the delivery when ordered was couple weeks. Some kitchen pieces the same thing. If you go online to order now it still saying the delivery is in a couple weeks! I know everything is back ordered now, but you can't tell me a large corporation ca t do better on their delivery estimates!! I would never have ordered these, I've waited so long already I don't want to start over and they KNOW IT! The one star is for the appalling quality of customer service at the Princeton, NJ store. I have been a customer (mostly online and some in-store) at Pottery Barn for years. This time I was picking up furniture that I had talked to them about the previous day. I was told that it would be kept ready. When I went there the next day it wasn't ready at the counter and I was told to wait, no big deal. I wandered around looking at other stuff meanwhile. I was neither told that it was brought from the back room, nor was a staff member available to help check it out once I myself found out and stood around for some more time. As someone else has mentioned, they seem preoccupied with answering phones and completely ignoring customers standing by. Once I paid, I was told that they would not help load the piece into my car (I am a petite woman and needed help). Reluctantly, a staff member pushed the cart to the door and left it there, saying I could come and get it. I brought my car to the curb, but I could not get the cart out. or the furniture box out without help because it was behind the set of heavy doors in the front of the store. I went in again, waited around (people on the phone totally ignoring me again), caught someone's attention and asked for help. I was told that "people do this by themselves all the time", making me feel pretty awkward for asking for help with heavy furniture that I just bought. Finally the person wheeled the cart out and I loaded it into my car. Don't go here expecting ANY customer service! read more

Sunny, assistant store manager is absolutely awful doesnt help with anything and when you no longer go with what she says hangs up in your face. The first person to openly tell me how this is the biggest order she has ever done and to tell me about the commission. Told us to call corporate to cancel because she couldn't take care of my order. Pottery Barn sure has some nice stuff. When I moved recently I scanned this location maybe 2 or 3 times over my furnishing adventure. I saw some things I liked and then proceeded to find something similar cheaper elsewhere . The stuff is just too pricey. They had two lamps I loved. They wanted $150 for the lamp and $90 for the shade. Thanks for the idea Pottery Barn because you inspired my lamp purchase...I got ones just like yours for $75 a piece. read more

I bought a sectional in September. It was delivered in december. The corner wedge had little support. I contacted pb a week after the purchase and was told I would receive avreplcement in a week. Well 6 months later and countless calls I'm still being given the run around. Now instead of a replacement corner piece I'm told I'll get a new cushion which I specifically told them it was not the issue. It takes an hour to get to help via the phone. I'm done and will ask to return the couch. Crazy spending thousands and getting service befitting of a clearance warehouse. I was just at the store on Tuesday and I couldn't agree more that the sales staff is pretty clueless. I asked the pricing on a model sofa which took the staff about 30 mins to figure out at best even then the info was wrong. They finally decided to call for help but I was already on my way out at that point. I asked for info on design consult and still waiting for someone to call me back. There were no other shoppers in the store and plenty of staff and the experience was still bad!! read more

This company is such a disappointment. I ordered a tv stand in December, was given estimated delivery which kept being pushed to later. I spoke to customer service on multiple occasions for different reasons. There is no follow through, once they have your credit card info they don't care. On one occasion the person on the other end basically was bored with my inquiry which I sensed he wasn't listening. He said he hears the same questions every day... maybe he shouldn't work in customer service...I followed up again to see if I could cancel the order since I was not sure when I would get my product and the woman promised to call back or email with an answer and never did. It's been since December 1st and I still have no furniture and no answers but they have charged my account. Would not recommend this company even though they have nice furniture it's not worth the hassle. read more

This is not a critique of this store or any of the Pottery Barn stores this is about the company and their total lack of customer service. I ordered 2 chairs back in October and the delivery date on my receipt was December 29. It is now January 21 and I have had no communication from Pottery Barn except when I initiate it. I have been lied to by customer service they told me I would definiately be contacted on or before Dec 29. I am still waiting. Had I read all of the awful reviews on Facebook that people with similar experiences to mine had I never would have ordered these chairs. I am very upset with them especially since I have ordered rugs and other furniture from them and never had a bad experience like this. There are plenty of furniture stores that will cater to your business if your smart order from them and beware of Pottery Barn. read more

This is the closest PB to me which makes for a 35 min drive and I like the location (next to the PB kids). I went in for customer appreciation night and not ONE person asked to help me during my 45 min shopping. It is disappointing, the manager was apologetic but I am a card member and I shop there often so I am a bit turned off by it. I may try Cherry Hill for further shopping experiences. read more

While the products are nice, the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Rude, do not care about their customers and slow. They really need to train their people on some basic customer service skills. They told me they would gift-wrap a purchase for me, asked me to come back the next day since I couldn't wait (just paying for the item took forever). They assured me everything would be ready for me. When I got there, I had to wait for a very long time for someone to speak to me, finally a woman came out saying the gift wasn't wrapped and that they don't actually wrap gifts anymore (only registry items). Unpleasant attitude from the staff. Had to wait for the gift to be wrapped. They also had my phone number, they could have called me to say to come back some other day. I have had a Charleston Chair and a Half for 22 years. I love the chair and so ordered another slip cover since the one I had was faded. Unfortunately, I was moving and so just today (3 months later) went to put it on the chair. GARBAGE!!! Pottery Barn charges a fortune for its stuff and has it made in sweat shops clearly, where people don't have the skills of the motivation to sew correctly - and who would in a sweat shop. This not only DID NOT FIT, the zippers are about 10 cents - meaning they are sure to break -, the cover pattern was cut without design and so there are seams that do not match, extra material where there should not be. I PAID $500 for this cover!!! And of course Pottery Barn doesn't dare have a review page on their site because everyone would know how horrible and over priced they are. This is the only piece of furniture I have (22 years old) from Pottery Barn and I would NEVER buy another piece of anything from them. Stay away unless you want to get ripped off!! read more

With the kind of stuff in the store, and the pricing, you would expect some decent Customer service. I had the most terrible Customer experience at this store on Saturday, 1/17/2015. To start with, the check out registers had no one there for a very long time. After patiently waiting for over 25 minutes, when I asked for help, there was no one who attended immediately, or tried to make sure I got help. They were outright RUDE!!!!! Then finally I got this very rude lady, who called herself the "Manager". She refused to apologize, or take responsibility for anything! And the worst - she said that she was as it is doing us a favor by stooping down to the checkout level being a manager!!!! When I, and the other ladies in line got upset and expressed that as a manger it was her duty to make sure everything was running smooth - she totally raised her hands and said that she wasn't going to take this abuse, and that it is not her problem. She also said that this was all her General manager's fault and if anything we should speak to the GM!! lol:) What a terrible experience- I am never going back there...sad, coz I do love the stuff, but the Service put me off so bad, that there is no interest in their stuff anymore. read more
