This is a cute little pottery painting place. They're making a killing off of us though! Haha. I came here with my Godmother and two Godbrothers on a late Sunday afternoon. We walked in and didn't have a reservation and had to wait a little, but not long at all. They were very accommodating. I recommend making an appointment because you don't know how long it will take for a table to become available. Everything was organized from pottery, to aprons, paint, and brushes. Pretty easy to figure out what to do, though they will explain. While we were there a birthday party started in the back, which was cool...for them ha. It got kind of loud, and I lean towards more of a peaceful quieter painting experience. Good to know that you can plan a birthday party though. I thought they had a pretty good selection of pieces to paint. They're a little pricey. $5 being the least expensive not including the sitting studio fee. I would come back. Your pottery is ready in 3 days for pick up. They'll hold it for up to 60 days thereafter, before tossing it and assuming you're not returning.

I came here with my three best friends and their families, 11 people in total, for my 43rd birthday party. The staff were helpful and patient with six artistically challenged adults (okay, maybe only three) and kids from the ages of 5 to 17. We brought a cake from Rao's in Spring and they let us use a table to set it up. We had a cooler with drinks and ice (including beer and hard seltzer for the grownups), no problem whatsoever. The store was spacious and well organized, making paint colors easy to understand and find. Had a wonderful birthday party, great atmosphere, will come again. Maybe next time my piece will be more conceptually cohesive lol

I'm going to start this off by saying it takes A LOT for me to write a bad review about anything. I am never one to complain. I have painted pottery so many times, so I have other shops to compare to this one. This was by far the worst pottery studio I've been to. I was so excited to go, especially because on the website, it says you guys have a "Texas-Sized Inventory." I walked in and was immediately underwhelmed at the amount of choices. It took me 30-40 minutes just to figure out what I was going to paint because there were really not many choices. I settled on a mug. Before I picked out my piece, we went to the counter to ask how everything works. The lady at the desk gave a very general explanation as to how it works: pick your piece, paint it, it gets fired, you pick up your piece. That's literally it, no directions on what to do. She didn't even ask if we have experience. Since I did have the experience, I knew to wipe down my piece with water before I started. I also knew that you have to use multiple coats to get the opacity you want. No explanation on literally any glazes, tools, etc. Next, the tools and paints. There is a very small selection of colors. They didn't have any colors I wanted to use, so I had to settle. A lot of the colors had swatches missing, so you couldn't even tell what it was going to look like. They had a very small selection of brushes and tools. I found myself needing different types of brushes and tools that they did not have. No q-tips, big brushes, textured sponges, stamps, stencils, patterns, nothing. They didn't even have an inspiration book like they claimed to on their website. The palettes were very small with only 3 wells that held about a teaspoon of paint each and the other 2 about a tablespoon. Paper towels were also hard to find. However, I did really like the lazy susans to spin my piece while I was painting. While I was painting, I noticed the paints were not the best quality. They kept pilling and doing some weird stuff. I was not confident on how my piece was going to turn out. I had no idea what to clean up because I wasn't given directions. I thought that they must have something at the table for a guide, but there was nothing. I went to go check out and she told me they would be ready to pick up on Monday (today). I did not receive a receipt. I realized that once I left and was worried I would have a hard time picking up my piece. Today is Monday, so I went to go pick up my pieces. They didn't have a hard time finding them, but when I saw them I was so disappointed with how they turned out. By far, the worst piece I have ever painted. Myself and the other person I painted with tried creating an ombré effect on the mugs. They did not turn out at all, even though we were super careful while painting to make sure we put the correct amount of coats on the mugs. They even wrote IN BLACK, on the bottom CENTER of my mugs random numbers in a size that definitely could've been smaller. So now I have a piece that looks so sloppy with random numbers on the bottom. If they told me they were going to do that, I would've neatly written my name or something on the bottom. I am so disappointed. (I recently realized that the black numbers rub off the bottom, so that is not a problem anymore, but I have noticed that my prices are chipped after taking a closer look!) They asked if I wanted my pottery wrapped? Um yes, I'm about to get into a car with 2 pieces of pottery. Of course I want them wrapped. Why wouldn't you? I was so looking forward to painting pottery at Potteryland. Especially because their website and social media pages look awesome. This experience totally let me down. I didn't say anything while I was there because I personally hate confrontation. Clearly I know it's not the girl that was there todays fault, so I didn't want to take it out on her. I will now be looking for another studio to paint pottery at. I'm upset that this did not work out.

My son and I decided to join my friend and her daughter and really had a great time. The staff was very helpful and attentive. This was my first time painting pottery and it was pretty easy. Looking forward to picking up our pieces.

The crack at the bottom of my vase that was not there when I handed it to them to get fired.

DO NOT GO HERE. I am pissed. I just came back to receive my flower vase I made Friday & let's just say, I am not impressed with the care they took of this vase. I spent $50 and over 2 hours carefully painting and taping off sections of this vase! What a huge waste. For any manager or owner reading this, here's why I'm pissed & others should no come here. 1. A part of the bottom edge is broken off. They dropped it or something and I can still feel the rough ceramic on it so I know this happened after it was fired. Now it's wobbly. Who the hell wants a wobbly flower vase?! 2. There are dots of colors I didn't even work with or have at my table all over it! They obviously didn't space out each of the pieces when storing it because tell me why tf there is dark green dots all over the parts that were supposed to be WHITE when I didn't even have dark green at my table!?! 3. When I came to get it she didn't even know where the heck it was. She had to go looking for it. They have no organization. I suggest you put everything that is to be picked up on Monday in one spot and things to be picked up on Tuesday in another. How unprofessional. 4. She asked if I needed it wrapped...IT'S A FREAKING LARGE CERAMIC FLOWER VASE WHAT KIND OF A QUESTION IS THAT?! & when I said yes she just barely wrapped it & it was so careless. She didn't tape the edges of the paper together so it was unraveling the entire car ride home giving me anxiety that it was going to fall out and break but of course there's nothing you can do when you're on 45 & can't stop. I had a horrible experience today at Potteryland and will not be coming back. I'll go find somewhere else to enjoy my time that will actually be worth my money. Thanks for nothing Potteryland. Hi

I went to this place with my boyfriend not too long ago. I've been looking for a pottery painting place for a while that was close by. So I was pretty excited to go. When we got there, there was only two other customers there so there was a lot of room for us to paint. Shortly after they left two groups of people came in. This was in the afternoon around 5 on a Wednesday. Their prices are pretty expensive. I went to this other pottery place that didn't use glaze paint in the willowbrook area when I was little and it was a lot cheaper than pottery land prices. We decided to go with a penguin that is about the size of a women's hand. They cost $17 each. Plus the studio fee which was $6 for adults so our total was around $50. The studio fee price is pretty common with other pottery painting places. About $8 for adults(don't know why ours was $6 but not complaining) and $6 for kids. This includes using their kiln and paints. Overall it's pretty fun but I probably won't do it again any time soon.

The pottery is a bit expensive for what it is, but the ability to use as many paints was great for my son and I.
