Had had the half chicken and substituted fries for salad. Very moist meat. I had the mild sauce so next time I will try medium as I wanted more flavor. Skin could also be crispier but I thought it was a filling lunch at reasonable price. Limited seating. Desserts are available. I had the pasteis de nata. Close to what I got in Lisbon but filling was a tad sweeter and denser.

Anthony Bourdain brought me here. What do I mean by that? My husband and I watch his old episodes where he visits the location we're headed to and do our best to try those spots. And let me tell you, he's yet to disappoint. Romados is like simplicity at its finest. A good old chicken and rice dinner with an extra punch. When I say punch, I mean the chicken will truly knock you off your feet. We had the Portuguese chicken and it was incredible. The meat was extremely flavorful and moist. It was nothing "fancy" but absolutely delicious. The Portuguese chicken came in a family sized meal and we have so many leftovers that I fully intend to eat and savor. The price point is also very reasonable for the portion size and quality. I definitely recommend this business!

Got the Portuguese chicken mild with fries and salad, and everything was delicious! They give such a big portion for the chicken, and it was seasoned perfectly. The fries were fried well and had the right balance of salt and other seasonings with it. Salad had a good variety of greens as well. This is a mostly takeout spot, but I can see why Anthony Bourdain recommended this spot in Montréal. A must try for Portuguese chicken!

We found the good reviews on Xaiohongshu and very satisfied after the visit. The chicken is full of flavor, juicy and willing! I like the chicken with gravy on the fries. I would hope the fries to be more crispy Their egg tart is not too creamy which I like and not too sweet. I am happy with this visit

The whole meal was so amazing, from the chicken and fries to the pastries. The sauce was a great complement to the chicken. The wooden utensils were a bit difficult to use, especially with the salad.

Got the 1/2 chicken with fries and salad. Also a nata. Chicken was nicely seasoned, moist and tasty. Ordered through UberEats. Packaging is sustainable.

Hands down the Best Portuguese chicken I have ever tried. If you eat chicken, try this place, this is a Must. Delicious juicy chicken, fries and salad served with a hot or a mild sauce. The setting is not fancy, but it's cheap, delicious and generous. I tied this classic Portuguese Rotisserie when we went to Montreal last year. There was a long line up, it took me more than 1 hr to get to the ordering counter. There are 2 lines, one for walk in and second for order pickup. Yes you can order in advance and skip the long line. I got it packed and also got few egg tarts. Went back to our hotel and ate it after 2 hrs. I was blown away, the chicken was so flavourful and juicy. Even the egg tarts were good. I will definitely go back there. Sometimes I get dreams about this chicken, and believe me I will someday just go for a drive from Toronto to Montreal and back just for this chicken.

Great chicken spot! Getting your food can take a while. From the time we ordered to when we received the food, it probably took 20 mins. We got the 1/2 chicken with rice + salad, 1/2 chicken with fries + salad, and egg tarts. The chicken combo was really big, we probably only needed one portion for the two of us. The rice is really delicious! I was surprised to encounter such tastes rice here, which only made us sad we got the fries. The salad is pretty small, just a nice side when you need a break from the carbs. The chicken itself was really delicious and tender! However, it's really salty in my opinion. Also, I feel like Costco's rotisserie chicken might be more worthwhile... The Portuguese egg tarts were quite nice. They are probably sort of overpriced compared to other places, but delicious nonetheless. However, I will say I'm more of a Chinese egg tart fan.

I was very excited to try Romados. I had read that it was one of the best Piri Piri chicken places in Montreal, so we headed that way. I ordered a half a chicken with spicy sauce and rice. The chicken was ok, not as flavorful as I expected. It was moist and tender, but lacking a bit of flavor. The rice was gooey and wet, not my favorite. My BF got the chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich itself was ok also, the bread very doughy and the fries (they pile them up) were not crispy as I like them. Others might love the place, for me, it was just OK. Nothing to come back for anytime soon.

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.

We both had a "tranche" /slice /portion of the flaky pastry originating from Brittany. While it does not look like the Kouign Amanns I've had before, it definitely tasted fabulous. We were not the only ones who thought so. While we ate our bounty at one of the two open tables, we saw person after person purchase whole galettes, possibly for an upcoming family gathering. The pastry had a sweet and crunchy crust and a buttery interior. Here, it does not resemble a croissant. Instead, the layers of dough were softer than the typical honeycomb structure of a croissant. Speaking of which, my sister also recommends the croissants here, which she used to have regularly when the shop was open more frequently.

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

The homemade ketchup had a sweet taste to it and was brought out a little colder than room temperature. I probably would have preferred the ketchup/tomato sauce to be a bit warmer. The Chicken Melt (8/10) - this sandwich was pretty big. It had grilled chicken in a creamy sauce, some Cole slaw (actually a lot of Cole slaw) and some dill pickles. The sandwich was a bit messy to eat and I think it had a little too much Cole slaw, but it was a good sandwich, nonetheless. The Long Version: So I had never heard of Rossetti before. They didn't exist when I was living in Montreal (the 2000s) and after I left, my husband (who was still my boyfriend at the beginning) and I would return often (at least a few times a year until 2019) and I'm pretty sure they weren't around then. We took a few years hiatus from visiting Montreal and then when we returned in 2024, boom, Rossetti had 4 different locations in the downtown core! What's their origin story? I have no idea. Their website has no "About Us" section. All I know is they opened sometime between 2020 and 2024, lol. I tried their caramel eclair ($5.50). The caramel icing was really tasty, but I found the choux pastry and the custard filling a bit dry. They have cannoli, amaretti, financiers, croissants and tarts. They also have sandwiches and pizza. I was disappointed that they didn't have sfogliatella, my favourite Italian pastry. Oh, they also have coffees and teas. The interior is nice with seating to dine in. Service was neutral. I may return to try another item. Maybe at one of their other locations. Review #16 (2025)

After climbing to the Kondiaronk Belvedere on Mont Royal, we decided we needed sustenance on our way back down and we spied Rosetti as we were walking back to our hotel. Since it looked very similar to Rosetta, we decided to stop in and grab a bite. The sandwiches and pastries were on full display and we knew we made a good choice. I had a Pizza Margherita which was huge...I could have shared it. I also had a caramel tart for a sweet treat afterwards. Others in the group had sandwiches and other sweets which they all enjoyed. There are some stools at a counter downstairs and a little more seating upstairs with a few low tables along with some high tops and counters. The ladies who worked there were very nice. We enjoyed our food and think it's a great place for a quick bite that's a bit elevated from traditional fast food.
