I had purchased jewelry before from Pounders and also used them twice for custom jewelry design. They had done beautiful work for me in the past so I decided on them for a new piece of custom jewelry. I don't currently live in Spokane but while I was there this past summer I stopped in and discussed a concept for a necklace. The person I worked with understood that I did not live in the area but could be contacted by phone or text. We discussed my ideas for the necklace and determined where I wanted the stones to fall along my neckline. I left a gold ring with the stones that were to be used in making the necklace, and it was my understanding that the jeweler was going to review the concept drawing to ensure the stones would sit properly when worn. I was also quoted a finish price of $600. A short time after I left the store, the person I worked with texted me and indicated the jeweler could make the necklace. I gave the go ahead and at that time also asked what the trade-in value would be for the gold in the ring I left with him. I did not hear anything back for a few days and the next text I received was pictures of a completed necklace. It was beautiful and I was very happy. There was no information provided nor did we discuss trade-in of the gold from the ring or remaining stones. Unfortunately, when I started arranging for delivery of the necklace the price jumped to $750. The only way I could get them to honor the $600 price qoute was to trade-in the gold and remaining stones from the ring. Once payment was made, the necklace was mailed to me. Upon putting the necklace on I discovered the stones did not fall along my neckline as we'd discussed and the main stone flips over so that the setting rather than the stone shows when worn. I immediately called Pounders to discuss my disappointment and was basically told that they could cut the chain to make it shorter, at my expense, but they were not sure if that would fix the issue of the stones flipping and showing the setting. Since I don't live in Spokane I can't just run over and have them look at the necklace and determine a fix. So now I have to wait until I'm in Spokane again to see if this issue can be fixed and it sounds like the fix will be at my expense. Since I provided the stones and essentially the gold, what I paid for was design work and customer service. I understand everyone is stressed out about COVID19 but this interaction seemed like pretty low-hanging fruit to have been botched so badly. The necklace is beautiful but that makes it all the more dissapointing to not wear. read more

Took a grandfather clock and an old late 1800's vintage wall clock to this store for service work. I dealt primarily with Dave. The treated me fairly and honestly. When I got the grandfather clock home and set-up there was a problem with the chime. I called Dave and explained the situation. They were going to be in the area the next day on an another house call so they said we'll just stop by. They came buy and tweaked an adjustment or two and the clock is now running and chiming just fine. I appreciated their willingness to come out and service the sale. I'll take a couple of more of my clocks to them in the future. Thank you for your services! I think I do need to add that when you treat people nicely, you'll be treated nicely in return. I have never written a review for Pounders jewelry, although I have used them many times. Every associate that I have met has been very courteous and knowledgeable. My first experience was with a beloved wristwatch that I brought to Pounders after another jewelry store in town had tried unsuccessfully for three months to fix it. After five days, it was repaired beautifully. My next experience involved several pieces that I had received from my grandmother. One piece was reset in a design recommended by the associate. The result was stunning. An emerald broach was reworked in order to be more comfortable to wear. Prongs were built up on a ring. All pieces were very professionally appraised for insurance purposes. My most recent experience blew me away. My wedding and engagement rings of 43 years dropped off my finger in a local store. Before a wonderful person found and turned them in, they had been severely damaged by being run over by a shopping cart or something. Both rings were completely out of shape and although they had been connected at the base, they were separated from each other. The white gold filigree at the crown of the ring was completely flat on one side with the filigree design completely destroyed. When I left my ring to be repaired at Pounders I knew that they would do their best to repair it, but I was concerned about the filigree. I was shocked when after only three days the ring was finished and THE FILIGREE WAS COMPLETELY AND PERFECTLY RESTORED. Fast and friendly! My husband and I worked with Andrew, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were looking to custom design two men's wedding bands, one of which would be using a diamond that had been in my husband's family for years, and the other to be a smaller scale size of the same design. I had a very specific idea in my head about what we wanted, but couldn't find a single example to show. Andrew was able to sketch it out, and hit the nail on the head. Our wax molds were done in a week, and the rings were completed and appraised in another 6 days. *We had custom rings designed, created, and delivered in under two weeks* I was worried that we would have to settle on something less than perfect. Here's the deal, there are plenty of options for jewelry repair, purchasing and design. Spokane has a handful of shops, and there are seemingly ENDLESS possibilities online. With that being said, Pounder's Jewelry blew my mind. The customer service was top notch and very helpful. They will give you honest opinions, they will help guide you to find exactly what you're looking for in the best way possible (even if that means you spend less money) they're honest and trust worthy and in the very least worth a visit. We've worked with Luke every time we've gone in, and he's helped fix jewelry, design jewelry based off of a family heirloom (engagement ring to match a wedding band) and we realllllllly couldn't be any happier.
