Truth be told, Livingston Designer Outlet is a bit of a way from Glasgow. It takes about an hour to…read moreget there on the M8 - but seriously, it's worth it! With more than 90 stores (yup, count them) there's pretty much something for everyone. As well as a huge number of shoe shops - you'll also find designer names, a Next Outlet store, cookware stores, homeware stores, jewelry stores and stationary stores. You'll also find a good selection of coffee shops and restaurants, sure to keep you fueled up through your shopping trip. There are some really great bargains on offer - whether you're looking for a Versace Dress for £300 or an M&S dress for £3. Although some Designer Outlet shopping centres are open air - you can rest assure that this one is securely inside. Which is very good, seeing as it's in Scotland and all! If you're planning a Christmas shopping trip, or are just feeling a little indulgent, then I thoroughly recommend a trip to Livingston Designer Outlet. There's a huge carpark which is free - so you can shop for hours without having to worry about when your ticket runs out. And believe me, you will shop for hours.

All their shops encourage dogs and John Lewis keep treats behind the counter. Seriously Livingston, get with the times and embrace pooches. You're out of town and many won't leave their dogs at home all day to drive to Livingston. It was bad enough when you started charging for parking. If you live in Edinburgh, you're far better not bothering to make the trip.

Some Ladies clothes are downstairs and you can go on the escalor to mens, home, shoes, lingerie etc. There are changing rooms on both levels which are manned and staff willing to get another size if you need it. I like the Food hall which has a wide range of food and is very popular when they have meal deals for £10.Their flowers are great value too. The bank area is good and we have used it to buy euros. If you shop In Marks regularily it is worth checking out the Credit card so you get vouchers to spend throughout the year. A good addition to the shops in Livingston and if you want to rest try something in the coffee shop.

Large selection of styles, however:…read more They do not have many width fittings for kids. If your child is a wide fitting you are unlikely to find anything for them here. They also don't always have every size in all the styles. Be aware you may well make the trip with your child and come away with nothing. It all just depends what they had left over as overstock from previous seasons. Also, beware of their fitting service. I have often had them measured elsewhere (ie at a regular Clarks) and then gone to the outlet and found that they say their feet are a totally different size (which turned out to be wrong). Just get them measured elsewhere first and then learn online how to feel the child's foot to see if the shoe fits though and you will be fine. I always check the kids fit myself after the salesperson in EVERY shoe store anyway nowadays. This is simply because over the years we have had issues like this in lots of different places. Adult-wise I have bought a couple pairs, and they are just slightly older styles (still fashionable though)from the past year. Boots are usually a good buy. Overall - not a one stop shop, but worth a look! If you can find a pair (for the kids or yourself) you will be saving lots - usually 50% or more.

Personally I know that most Schuh stores will stock my fave brands such as DocMartens, Vans, Cons and Etnies and they even have items that you can't usually find elsewhere (like exclusive's from Vans that somehow appear in the stores before they are on the Vans website) If you're looking for a wide range, interesting styles, colours and something a bit different, without taking a risk on brands that you don't know it's always worth a look to see what hey have in store.
