Ham Egg n Cheese Croissant - heated! The lovely Black n White!
    Stephani P.

Wow, wow, wow!! My taste buds were singing a song of worship after this stop!!! The Croissants are so light flaky and buttery, it fused with the ham and cheese for a celebration. It was small but mighty! Next let's just say you could share a black n white with a friend, but I took one for the team and powered through!!! The chocolate mousse with the lightly creamy top and there was an oh so sweet cream tucked in the middle like a little surprise!! Well done Pouparts! Most take their goodies to go, it's an old shop with 2 tables!! But I will be back to try more of the tantalizing goodness at Poupart's!!!

I went there for the Pralines, but they were out. I purchased a red velvet and a carrot cake cookie. The carrot cake cookie was superb. The red velvet was just okay. Customer service was okay. The bakery was clean and all the goodies were beautifully displayed.

This Charcuterie Board is a great option for event catering.

I absolutely love Poupart's Bakery. They have food for every occasion & holiday. Custom cakes for graduations, birthdays, weddings or just because.

Very Friendly staff. I LOVED that the food was reasonably priced, yet delicious! My kids chose cookies, while I choose the Tirmasu.... The Tirmasu was AMAZING. I presume the cookies were just as good with the crumb filled car seats. I don't believe I saw seating anywhere, but that didn't effect us.

This is an adorable bakery with a ton of options. They had a whole case of just Christmas cookies. They have single serving desserts and whole pies/cakes. They also have some bread/sandwich items that looked really tasty. I almost grabbed some frozen soup to bring home with me. The gator pasta was super cute as well! I grabbed some LA hot sauce for myself and as a gift. I ended up buying 9 or so items and an very pleased. I always love to ask whoever us helping me what they recommend and get a combo of what looks good and their recs. The guy helping me was great and gave me solid recs. My favorite was the lemon merengue tart. The french cheesecake was so good too. Also, the strawberry slice. Im glad i stopped in, this place was definitely worth the visit!

Authentic French bakeries are not the easiest to find, even in Louisiana, but Poupart's makes the cut. We accidentally discovered this place when the breakfast place we intended to go to was closed. It was the happiest accident ever. This place is not only a culinary delight but a visual delight as well. The array of colors immediately grab your attention. Of my! Tarts, macaroons, beautiful little pies, and baked confections delight your eyes. I spent an hour just looking around, and I had to try really hard not to buy one of everything. Of course we had to sit down and try some of their coffee with a breakfast sandwich. Superb. They also have authentic French sandwiches made with delicious meats and their chicken salad is a treat too. You will also find a ton of local frozen food in their freezer to take home. Several types of bisques and other local staples. You could pretty much make groceries here, as they have all kinds of butters and preserves, as well as fresh baked breads. I will definitely be back when I decide to host a soirée at my house. Your guests would be so impressed sitting a dessert course! Picture perfect desserts that taste as wonderful as they look. Magnifique!!!

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Fast, friendly and helpful service. Everything is made fresh in house. They offer to warm your sandwiches up for you. (Get a ham and cheese croissant for the road) Don't miss the sweets section ! You deserve it!!! The cannolis are amazing!!! Cinnamon toast and French bread were phenomenal as well. Always a go to stop when in laffy.

Worst Cake Experience. This bakery according to its website is suppose to be a fine bakery with outstanding presentation.

Worst cake Experience. Very disappointed and will not be back. Nothing like the website advertising Fine baked goods!

We ordered a cake for a Halloween party. I was specific about how I wanted it decorated, and they did a wonderful job. And, as always with anything that I have gotten from Pouparts, it was delicious! It was a huge hit at the party.

As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

The first time, I ordered the barbecue ribs served over rice dressing, and they were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. On my second visit, I tried the smothered okra, which came with a whole quarter piece of chicken and sausage over rice--comfort food at its finest. For my last visit, I couldn't resist the ribs again, this time paired with yams, coleslaw, and pork stew. Every dish tasted like it was made with love right in someone's home kitchen. The staff is kind and welcoming, and even though there's usually a line if you arrive later in the day, it moves quickly. They're only open a few days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so plan ahead for lunch or an early dinner. The menu changes daily, but there's always a reliable grill menu to choose from. I think they need a new recipe for the cornbread dressing and the macaroni and cheese. These two items were extremely lackluster and not good at all. Now, the ribs, candied yams and the roast pork were great and delish but those other sides need some help. The cornbread dressing was dark brown teetering on black in color, which I've never seen in my life. And the macaroni was just that with little to no cheese. The atmosphere is also very inviting and comfortable to sit and dine in. I meant I would return and try other options because the lady at the register was super sweet and kind but in all honesty, those two sides need a recipe overhaul.
