We waited a few minutes and a server greeted us and said they were very busy so she would take our drink orders before our regular server would become available. We waited a little longer and our new server Melody brought the drinks and apologized for the wait. Melody was very nice and professional. She checked on us throughout the evening. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. My husband ordered coconut shrimp with a baked potato and our friend ordered the walleye. We each ordered the cabbage soup with the dinner. The chicken parm was delivered on a huge plate of pasta with red sauce. Unfortunately neither was flavorful and there was just way too much pasta. The chicken had a small amount of white sauce on top. The red sauce was not seasoned at all. My husband said the coconut shrimp was fine. My mother found that the pork ribs were dry and bland (and I did try them and they were indeed bland and the only flavor came from the BBQ sauce). Don't brag that your boneless, country style pork ribs are cooked for 18 hours, when the result is dry and bland. My king prime rib was served later so the hashbrowns could cook, according to the waitress, yet the hashbrowns that my mom and I both had were okay on the outer edges, but not warm/cooked on the inside. The prime rib had decent flavor, but it was tough and required a lot of sawing through with a steak knife. The best part of the visit was our waitress Hannah; food was mediocre.

We walked into the bar which looks like a fun spot to socialize. Unfortunately every seat was filled. Some with teens which was a disappointment. The bar staff didn't seem to see us nor did servers passing by so we went back to Kaylee and asked if we could grab a table in the bar area to order drinks until our reservation. She was great and found a spot for us. The restaurant and patio were empty but the bar was full. After a few minutes, no one had taken our order so my husband went to the bar and ordered cocktails. From that point the bartender attended to us. Our dirty martini and old fashioned were very good. When it was time for our reservation, we elected to sit outside since it was such a nice evening. The patio has plenty of seating and a beautiful view of the lake. The building could use a little refresh but it is still a nice patio to sit and enjoy a meal. Our server was Maria who couldn't have been more lovely. She was friendly, attentive and always walked with a smile. I ordered the filet, medium, with a baked potato. The filet was cooked perfect medium but lacked seasoning. The potato was fine. My husband ordered the special which was a chicken Alfredo dish. He said it was delicious. We originally stopped by the location up in Duluth, but we opted to wait until going to their main factory in Grantsburg before purchasing anything. This location of Burnett Dairy Cooperative is basically an entire complex, with a gas station and convenience store, all the milk storage tanks easily within view, the corporate offices and factory, and then this store filled with tons of different dairy products from all over Minnesota and Wisconsin. It was an absolute madhouse walking in at 2PM - it was so crowded inside there was barely any room to even walk around and browse. I'm honestly not sure why they are so popular. We especially wanted to order the fried cheese curds since their old menu stated they were made with fresh Burnett Dairy curds, battered and fried in house. Well, that's no longer the case. They now get their cheese curds from a supplier and it isn't made from Burnett Dairy curds, according to the cashier that I talked to. Oh well, the next best thing? Ice cream! We went up to the ice cream station, lined up for a while, and then learned that, nope, they don't make their hard scoop ice cream either. It's from Cedar Crest. They also don't make their own soft serve base! The only thing they do is churn a mix from an external supplier in their machine. Seriously? If I'm looking at a random drive-in or candy shop, or a middle of nowhere ice cream shop, sure use Sysco or other commercial food supplier. But this is a dairy cooperative we're talking about! They should be making their own products! As insult added to injury - for our fourth option we wanted to try the fresh cheese curds. They sell them for $6.99/lb, freshly packaged up on a table right near the check out registers. Unfortunately the bags were all around 1lb and we didn't want to commit to such a large package. Luckily we saw that one of the employees was bagging up more fresh cheese curds in the back. We asked if we could get a half pound and they said no, the minimum was one pound! No samples either!
