This was a pleasant surprise on a last-minute dinner stop. I really wasn't expecting much, but came away having tasted a couple very solid dishes. The atmosphere is a little dark and actually even a little hard to read the menu (and I have good vision). The service was all in all pretty attentive and helped make up for that. As for the food, my wife had the salmon which was fantastic. One of the best salmon dishes we've ever had. It was rich, not fishy at all, and full of flavor. It literally melted in your mouth. Myself, I had the steak which was also quite good but maybe not to the same level. My only complaint here was the fries that accompanied it were just mediocre. But if everything else is mostly on point, as it was, I can live with the fries not being all that great. Live music was mixed too loud for anyone to carry on any type of dinner conversation, could only talk between sets for a few minutes. When you get your bill, be sure to note that the restaurant tacks on an extra 3.9% service charge at the bottom of your bill citing "MN Statute 325G.051 fee". Ostensibly to help them cover the high cost of doing business with those pesky customers who choose to pay with credit cards. The food here is very good, and the menu has a lot of great flavor combinations! They give good service, and I like to watch the owner run his kitchen like a captain on a ship. The part I don't get is why they have only a 2-dollar sign ($$) rating for cost? I was charged $8.50 for a draw of Stella beer!! That is usually the price for high alcohol volume crafted beer. It should be only $5 for a 12 oz. draw of any Lager beer. Plus, 3% charge for paying with plastic. They ask that you tip in cash! So, they want to be high end, but act desperate by the prices & fees they charge. When my wife and I visited a couple weeks ago... the tap was $115 for 3 rounds and 2 appetizers!! read more

My daughter enjoyed a wine flight that I did not picture she did enjoy but the server wasn't very knowledgable on the wines, we asked about the tannins or oakey flavors etc and all she knew was "The white wine was more bubbly like champaign" We shared the avocado cream cheese won tons with a strawberry Tarragon sauce, one of a kind, and the drunken shrimp appetizer with chardonnay, cognac , garlic saffron sauce they also have it in a pasta dish, but we prefer this with crostini bread and we split the lobster pasta which was the best I have ever had anywhere and of course I forgot to snap a picture. The lobster was fresh and sweet like you want it! We finished up with their beautiful Ganache cake and 6 Grape port wine that was very rich and nummy. Went here when passing through the cities and wasn't disappointed. Everything from the ambiance, service, apps, dinner, and dessert were amazing. Started with the coffee encrusted steak bites with an amazing dipping sauce along with the avocado appetizer. The steak bites sound strange but the coffee, steak, and bleu cheese sauce meld together in such a way that leaves you speechless. The prime rib sandwich with au jus with loaded fries was also very tasty. The only complaint was that the au jus was very salty. I highly recommend adding mushrooms to your sandwich. They're so good. Lastly the sweet potato cake dessert is out of this world. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed. It would be nice to come back when they have live music. It's a very nice place in every way. So so yummy! Coming home from Crosslake, my husband and I were looking for a restaurant on the way. So happy he came across this place. For appetizers (which were all so good) we had the Avocado Wontons, French Onion Soup & Parmesan Truffle Fries. For our entrees, we got the Chicken Basil Pesto Pasta & Drunken Shrimp Pasta. We were soooo pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. AND everyone who worked there were so nice. I'd definitely recommend this gem. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Appetizer was the Pig and Fig. Sooo amazing with sweet and savory in every bite. You really cannot go wrong with toasted baguette smeared with bacon, fig and carmelized onion. Truly exceptional! We each got a steak. NY strip and a filet. Both cooked properly. I have been a fan of Pour for years but my last visit was disappointing. We went on Valentine's day and had a 4:30 reservation. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. Then we waited for 25 minutes! Before we told a waitress! We were not offered water, drinks, nor did we have menus. It's like everyone ignored us. Finally, after another 7 minutes, the owner came by and apologized. The place was not even half full. From there on the night went well. At the end of dinner, I expected some discount. Maybe free appetizer or drinks. We were offered nothing. Cannot even blame management being it was the owner that handled this situation. The food was good but it is expensive and I don't feel that this place is worth the money you spend. I would rather go to Maynard's Restaurant just down the road. read more

Amazing, amazing, amazing! We went here for dinner over Memorial Day weekend with some friends. The service, cocktails and food was simply amazing! I always thought this place was just a wine tasting bistro, but it so much more than that! We all had one of the pasta dishes, and my shrimp pasta was one of the best dishes I've ever had. Also, the avocado wontons were delicious, and I don't even like avocado that much! The drinks, oh the drinks... great selection from bourbon to wine and mixed cocktails. I have been to pour twice now. Once for my birthday dinner with a large group and then again with my wife. Both times were absolutely fantastic! The wine was excellent and the food outstanding. I had the stuffed swordfish and then salmon on the second visit and both were extremely tasty. We have had various appetizers and all have been wonderful. Phil the owner is great to talk with and seems to know food and wine. He adds a personal touch by walking around and talking to each table. The wines I tried were fantastic and all recommended by Phil. He claims to own a winery in California, but I refuse to believe him until he takes me there :) (kidding Phil knows his stuff). Only thing that was missing was a dessert drink/wine like a limoncello or port. Desserts each time we visited were average. I am hoping they will expand the dessert menu into something more than what it currently is. I would have given four and a half stars in hopes Pour would strive to expand their dessert drinks and dessert, but had to give five stars because the overall experience for this area is excellent and yelp doesn't allow half stars.. read more

The restaurant is nice... However we were seated at a high table with a high chair for my newphew, which considering the high table we were sitting at, didnt' do much for lil' John since the "high chair" didn't reach the top of the table. He was okay though. still got fed. The food was good though. Hunnie Bunnie had the mac n' cheese which was with penne noodles of something and it was quite tasty! I had some kind of tomato pasta something or other with the grilled chicken option and it was tasty as well! I believe my dad enjoyed his bacon burger once they got it cooked right for him and everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinner as well. Nice local spot to enjoy for sure! read more

This is one of my favorite spots near the cities, I am an avid lover of wine and Northern California wine country. The owners are amazing very nice people and accommodating, they bring some of the best wines from wine country to the restaurant for us all to enjoy. They also create events you can participate in or a wine club membership to try new wines you can't find in the wine/liquor stores. They've created a in intimate atmosphere with a nod to Napa and Sonoma. They bring in live music often and everyone we've listened to is amazing. They have a lot of fun food options as well the owner actually made most of them which is pretty neat! Our favorites are the crab cakes, steak bites, buffalo cauliflower and avocado wontons!! Visiting friends and they swore by this place. I have to agree - amazing. First, the decor. Super cute. Not your typical downtown atmosphere, but still very nice - small town feel. Second, appetizers. Delicious. We ordered the cheese curd risotto cakes and the blue cheese soufflé. The cheese curd risotto cakes were very good - nothing like a cheese curd, though. The shape was very similar to a crab cake. The consistency - something to get used to with the risotto. The blue cheese soufflé is very rich. It is made with a whole heck of a lot of cheese: blue cheese, cream cheese, heavy cream, bacon, and garlic. The rosemary crackers go very well with the soufflé - but they should really just give you more to start out with. The soufflé is a decent portion, but with only 7 crackers... Third, the strawberry rib platter. The ribs were ok. I mean I live in TX...but the sauce: spicy strawberry tarragon glaze. I'm making that weird noise that you make when something is perfecto accompanied by the fingers to the lips. I would eat that sauce on just about anything. Not spicy enough to sweat which is my perfect spice on a spice scale. Finally, dessert. Red Russian Cake. Made just for this restaurant by Blue Egg Bakery. I heard it's made with donuts and takes 5 days to make. Kinda like how God made the earth...perfection. The waitress messed up our bill. She didn't put our appetizers in right away. However, I'm still giving Pour 5 stars, because you can't find food this unique or good in the northeast burbs! read more
