Overpriced really bad food. I got a brisket sandwich. Small slice of white bread with one super thin cut of fatty old meat. It was so gross, I couldn't tell what was fat and what what cheese. Totally nasty and it was $17. I wish I took a pic of how pathetic this meal was. I wanted to say something but the waitress was really nice and this isn't my town. We like to ride our motorcycle to bootleggers for beers. It has a fun environment with popcorn, pull tabs and bootychaser. These wings were top notch and will be getting wings with my beer for now on. Service was good. read more

Stopped by here after leaving town from a wedding. We just needed a quick bite to eat. It wasn't busy on a Saturday morning and they had a good mix of options. The food was fine but they messed up my omelet, I wanted ham and two cheeses but somehow just ended up with American cheese. The water is awful, so get pop or coffee, the water has a bad taste to it. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily return or recommend but its fine if you are in the area. read more

Awesome bar/restaurant located in Nowthen. This place is probably exactly what you expect from a local, outer suburb bar. By no means divy, or fancy, just local. The vibe and overall feel of this place is inviting and relaxing. Sometimes local places can be somewhat uninviting. No here. Both were very good. Again, exactly what you would expect from a local watering hole. Just some down home greasy cookin. I loved it. The wings were nicely sauced with a juicy, meaty bite. The Texas patty melt was cooked to a perfect medium, just how I ordered it. A massive 1/2 patty had me in heaven with bacon, sautéed onions and mushrooms. I will say that on Friday evening this place was very busy and there may not have been enough staff. We got there at 5:00 and had about a 15 minute wait. My husband went to the bar and was still waiting to be served when we were seated. I ordered a water and he ordered a beer. Our waitress was very nice and apologized but there was still another 10 or 15 minutes until he got his drink. We ordered steak bites as an appetizer. I ordered the house salad with chicken and my husband ordered tacos with sweet potato fries. The steak bites didn't take too long and were very good tender and with good flavor. It was a little while before we got our food. The sweet potato fries were cold. The chicken on my salad was well cooked but there was so much dressing it was the house Parmesan dressing but it tasted mostly like mayonnaise. It had kind of a lodge feel to it. read more

The Good: The ambiance was pretty good - old-time pictures on the walls, music playing, plenty of seating with large tables. The Bad: The food was terrible. We ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken fajita burrito. My burger was half-cooked (the fries were good!) and my spouse only ate about 1/4 of his burrito. Guys - he's from southern California, I think this is the first burrito in almost 20 years of knowing him that he didn't just destroy. He said his onion rings were stale and just not good either. The Could have been better: The service - all the servers and the 2 hostesses seemed to be annoyed. The one who brought us to our table just tossed the menus on the table and said our waitress would be there soon, no smile, no nothing. Our server was equally detached in attitude. Even after she saw all the food we left, she never asked how the food was, if we wanted a refill on drinks. Maybe we were just there on an off day for them. Who knows. Wow over an hour waiting for breakfast to arrive.never brought water never re-filled our coffee we were there for two and a half hours.asked for our check and never came back with it just walked away she started off by telling me us she has been there's for over four years.then the food was horrible our two and three year olds wouldn't even eat the pancakes.they were flat and hard,the French toast was horrible it was like they dipped bread into eggs and fried it hard.sausage links taste like fake soy protein.the biscuits and gravy was disgusting tasted like the meat was spoiled.out of five of us only one pancake was eaten.even the toast was over done.completely dried out not sure if this is normal but we will never return and pretty sure no one we know will give them a try...it's sad that we are forced to give a rating at all.you can tell the owner really dose not care he has never apologized or even responded to any reviews as far back as four years read more

Bootleggers is a great place to grab some food and a few drinks in the northwest metro! We stopped in completely by chance. I had NO idea that this place was here. We actually drove to the neighborhood to try the pizza joint, not realizing that it's only for take-out and delivery. Bootleggers was a nice surprise. The food was really good. In addition to a couple of drinks, we both got the Prime Rib special - yum! We sat at the bar because it was busy as hell and to make sure we got good service. We had a slight customer service glitch. For some reason, the female bartender seemed too-cool-for-school and completely ignored us for over an hour. She finally paid some attention to grab our finished plates...we asked her to stop so we could box up the Prime Rib & potato leftovers for my big dogs at home (see my profile photos)...she acted super offended like we asked for her first born child. Weird. Maybe she was just having a bad day. On the other hand, the male bartender and another dude (who I later discovered was the manager) were both awesome. They both gave us first class customer service and made us feel welcome. If they're consistent and just as good or better next time (with no bitchiness), I'll probably bump them up to 4 stars. First time here and was very impressed. The atmosphere was very comfortable and very clean. Great menu and the food was very good. We had the fettuccine Alfredo and the clubhouse. The only thing wrong was they forgot the tomato on the club and the toast was very toasted and a little dry. All was ok with me because i don't really care for tomatoes and I dip the sandwich in honey mustard, which is amazing BTW. I would order it again but ask for it to be lightly toasted and heavy mayo. The fries are amazing and the Alfredo was some of the best we've had. The staff was great also. Very quick service and friendly. Highly recommend this place. read more

This place is close to home so I want to love it, but their food quality is inconsistent. They have a good menu, but they must have a frequent turnover of cooks. One time dinner will be amazing and the next time you order a burger and it is a hockey puck. I would say most often it is not good. You never know what you are going to get here. They should hire a great cooking staff and do what they need to do to keep them. People will keep coming back for good quality food. If the food quality goes down they will end up like the place next door to them. read more

After moving to the area, it took us a bit to find Bootleggers and try it. So glad we did. Very pleasant surprise to find quality food that you don't have to go the city to find. Especially for the price. Quite impressed with the Old Fashioned cocktail (although it does vary from one bartender to the next.) Sometimes can be a bit understaffed, but given their location, I'm sure it is difficult to find quality staff that is close. However, the staff that are there are always cheerful and helpful. read more

The waitress was pleasant, the restaurant was clean, the food was made fresh, and everyone liked it all. I'm not saying we were all particularly impressed with the food, but no one was disappointed either. Definitely better than something like Chili's or TGIF. I go to Bootleggers on average probably 3+ times a month. That puts it on my favorite list for this type of restaurant as I eat out 3-4 times a week, and even more in the winter. They have a good saloon menu and serve quality food in a reasonable time using pleasant and personable servers. And everything is consistent. There are no surprises from one visit to another. I personally like their pot roast best which is only served at lunch, the flat breads, and chicken entrees are other favorites, but it's all good in my opinion. Put it all together consistently, that's what really stands out. And your looking for a twist to a food item, l have never been refused a slight modification request to a menu item. Drinks are good bar quality with usually plenty of ice to keep them cold. I don't do many reviews but the owner has every right to be proud of this place. He doesn't promise exotic drinks or food but he fulfills his contract to the customer consistently in every way. My only complaint lies in the area of wait time. We left and went else where last week because of a 35-40 min wait time. I hope they consider call aheads soon. But what a good problem to have. This place should rate 5 stars and does by most standards, but I feel every place should have at least one unique item on the menu. read more

It's our new spot! Absolutely amazing atmosphere. Drinks were hearty and prices were reasonable. We started with two different flavors of wings. They were sooo good. I can't recall the second flavor we ordered, but the Buffalo sauce was pretty good stuff. Not the best bleu dressing, but honestly, not many places do have good, chunky dressing for their wings. It was a Friday night and we were served by Tana(?). We were asked if we wanted a drink within 30 seconds of sitting down! Awesome! She was super attentive the whole time.
