If you're looking for coffee on the run, or somewhere to study that's near public transit, this place might just be it for you! That's exactly how I was able to get to this place -- as it was steps away from the Fruitvale BART Station. I'd like to also say that this place probably has one of the best Vietnamese coffee places to date -- despite being in the Fruitvale neighborhood. I love how there's other vendors joining in on the Fruitvale Village hype, and I'm just really happy for this business overall. The other things that I got from this establishment were their croissants -- they have ones that tasted really good. The hospitality was immaculate, and they made their drinks in a fast and efficient matter.

    beignets and strawberry smoothie

Found this place because of the beignets and will now recommend this spot because of it! The beignets come out piping hot fresh with a choice of either powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar as the topping. Of course, I ordered the powdered sugar topping at an attempt to scratch my Disneyland beignet crave.. in all honesty I think these ones are leagues better. I also ordered their strawberry smoothie and it was good. Nothing memorable, just had an artificial fruit taste so do not expect fresh ingredients. My friend ordered a chai latte and a sausage breakfast sandwich and she enjoyed both of them! Powderface is located in the plaza adjacent to the Fruitvale station. There are plenty of other businesses to check out as well as plenty of parking due to Bart. Don't expect a quiet space to do any sort of work here because it is a busy hub for commuters and students. Plus I don't think there's wifi (based on a previous review)

Delicious and fresh beignets!! I love having this before my appointments at highland the employees are always soo sweet and quick. I love the polar bear drink it's my top favorite but their smoothies are amazing. They also have so many other delicious fresh pastries. The area is really big and has lots of tables it's a perfect place to gather with friends or do some work I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're ever at Fruitvale station :)

Cute cafe right off Fruitvale bart station. We came in at the end of the day but were quickly taken care of. Our beignets were made fresh and were hot and delicious!

Id been trying to get here solely for their beignets. If you've been to NOLA and spent time at Cafe Dumonde, you'll be hard pressed to find something as good. This places comes close. They make it when you order so it is fresh and like at Cafe Dumonde you'll be bathed in powdered sugar when you eat. I also ordered anl Mexican spice coffee. Very good. Service is excellent and the line moves fast. Definitely have some regulars, commuters and have their regular customers orders down. Their crepes looked great so I'll be back to try those. Another local small business to support.

Service is friendly and efficient. It's right off bart so it's a fun treat post commute. Beignets were dense but the flavor was great! Indoor and outdoor seating. Cute photos on the wall.

    Yummy beignets!

Went here for the very first time and the beignets did not disappoint. They were fresh and made to order. You get them right out the fry not oily at all. They are hugeeeeee. Me and my big sis shared and 2 were enough for me. You can choice from powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. Chocolate or caramel drizzle is extra charge. I had the chocolate but next time I'll try it with caramel. The service was fast and durning the time I went they were super busy. It was lunch time for the high school on the plaza. Lots of seating available to do your homework or work. They had a lot of pictures on the wall and are. The little shop is such a chill vibe. They also sell sweet and savory crepes that I will try next time!

I came in around 8:30, a few tables outside had people drinking their coffees and eating breakfast. When I walked in, only one guy was waiting for his order. There was only one person working. The service was not good. I stood at the order counter for 5 minutes, I looked at the lady, she looked at me, and didn't offer a high I'll be right with you. I understand she was the only one preparing coffee and food. I'm not trying to complain about the wait, but the lack of acknowledging a customer to say it will take some time. I finally ordered an iced latte. I do think they have some creative drinks, but I know they are usually too sweet and I just opt for a plain iced latte instead. It was an ok latte, nothing amazing. They have a bulletin board for people to post their flyers or business cards. There was a card on the board that said A.W.A.R - All woke are retards. I'm sure that's not the view of the establishment. I do think they need to screen the board from time to time.

So festive and just hit for that season. Wonder if they can do it all year round? Smoked Salmon Bagel ($9.50/4*) Nice toasty smaller bagel with all the usuals of soft lox n cream cheese, capers and red onions. Loved the compact size as it didn't put a lead weight in my gut in the AM hours. The bagel crust tho is kinda hard and brittle, almost crouton hard which I thought was strange. But the interior was indeed soft yet chewy. Iced Cold Brew ($4/4*) Pretty smooth. I only asked for a kiss of cream and it was just right. I prefer a more robust roast finish but still quite serviceable. I liked how the owner knew a lot of the customers by name. Since I'm not a reg, I actually was the only one who didn't get called by name on a weekday morning. Love the small town vibe and even tho not a reg, I'd still hit this up if in the neighborhood.

I work super early in the morning so I rush to my Google Maps to see what's open. Huzzah! This place is open at 6am. I hop in my car and drive relatively fast (but safe) so I'm not late to work. Service is pretty friendly, I made the mistake of asking for two shots of espresso in my medium latte (2 shots is a medium, duh Lauryn), but they were pretty nice about it. My lox bagel was pretty fresh and delicious. Good amount of cream cheese and salmon, and the cucumbers and tomatoes didn't taste like they were sitting in the fridge. They were crisp! Since I was grabbing and going, can't speak too much on ambiance on the place. Usually there's a small line out the door and that has remained unchanged for this visit as well. They have a small space and tables for small parties both inside the cafe and along their front sidewalk. Their menu selection is wide, offering a variety of lattes, coffees, and teas, but also both pastries and small meals as well. It's no wonder why they're always popping around this time of day. Although I haven't tried many of their drinks, I can say that their matcha latte has been consistently good. Today I ordered one with almond milk and the matcha flavor is nicely balanced. Good ratio between matcha and milk. The matcha itself tastes pretty well rounded - not bitter, but also not too subtle in flavor. I probably got the matcha here like three times and it has not failed me yet. My partner really enjoys the Malasada but they can sell out pretty quickly. Previously I've tried their Ube Crinkle and their donuts and they were pretty good as well. This time, I wanted something a little less sweet and small so I tried the Bibingka which was great! I love mochi and the Bibingka had a mochi texture to it. It comes with some pineapple bits which I tend to avoid, but my desire to try something new overrode that today and thankfully, the bits were small. It's a dense little bite, but I enjoyed it! A perfect little bike treat. I don't get much interaction here with the workers since it's such a quick stop, but it's okay. I think depending on what time you go, it just gets really busy and employees are just trying to chug out the orders. We'll be back again for those delicious drinks and pastries though!
