    Matcha latte
    Vi T.

Julie's has been a community staple in Alameda for years. I met up with a friend for lunch today for an enjoyable and tasty light meal of their veggie quiche (comes with a small side of mixed greens tossed in vinaigrette) and a matcha latte drink. My friend had their broccoli/cheese soup of the day, a modified entree salad with an added avocado, and their baked egg with veggies inside (which also contains cheese btw, though it's not listed on their menu). Atmosphere is cozy and can sometimes get a bit loud inside the front, yet it is more spacious and quiet in their back garden. There's usually a healthy crowd and they close at 4pm.

Hosted a bridal shower here and everything was great! It was the majority of the group's first time there and everyone complimented the beautiful backyard and delicious tea party treats. Communication with Shannon was effortless and she made the process easy. Our server was super friendly and constantly checked if we needed anything. Definitely would come back again :)

Cute local coffee shop with a nice garden outside, as well as a parklet out front on Park St. Great for people-watching. The interior is cute but feels a bit claustrophobic and hot, so I've always opted to sit outside. They have a nice selection of loose-leaf teas, as well as pretty colorful teapots for purchase. The coffee is good, and the food is pretty good as well. On our most recent visit, I had the salmon toast with avocado, and RB had the vegetarian quiche, both tasty. I appreciate that they have vegan options. Unfortunately there is a somewhat pretentious vibe, as some others have mentioned, hence the three stars. There is what I can only describe as a self-important attitude and an air of condescension that doesn't jive with me. I've returned several times hoping it was just an off day, but nope, it's a constant. Also the signs out back about an 'unplugged zone' on the weekends? Please. I'll decide how to use my time when paying to sit down for a cup of coffee, and if that means happily Yelping away on my phone, you can go ahead and respect that, thanks. How does a customer quietly using a digital device affect you? Let people be. I would say I hope they work on this vibe they project, but I know they won't, it just seems to be part of the 'eccentric' identity here. Fair enough, and they do seem to have a loyal following, but it's not for me.

Loved this cute coffee shop! I've had Julie's on my list forever and when I was thinking of a place to get some work done in Alameda, I finally got to check it out. The garden is a lot bigger than I thought! There's so much more seating here both indoors and outdoors. Julie's has a handful of tables inside, some tables in front at the parklet, and lots of tables in back in their garden. Parking is mostly metered parking on Park Street, but if you don't mind the walk, you can also park in the neighborhoods nearby for free. Just be mindful of the hour limits. You can order from their menu of coffees, teas, baked goods, and classic cafe foods (some breakfast/lunch items) at the register. Then, take your tarot card number to your table and they'll bring it all out to you. Don't forget to bus your table after you're done! I got the iced latte for dine-in to enjoy while in the garden. The iced latte was solid - nothing fancy. But the real win here was the ambiance. Even on a Wednesday afternoon, the place was packed. Granted it was a beautiful sunny day, and this is really the perfect place to get out of the house. The wifi was strong, it wasn't too loud, and they offer plenty of shaded spots if you prefer not to be directly in the sun. They also offer private events and catering and I feel like this would be the perfect venue for a bridal shower / baby shower / tea party!

This is Baby. Neighborhood kitty that hangs out. She is the sweetest!!!

What a lovely coffee shop! Staff is super friendly and helpful! Nice outdoor seating area. Absolutely love this spot! And if you sit out in the back patio, be sure to say hi to Baby. The cat that hangs around. She is the sweetest! They should put her on the payroll!

Good service from staff. My breakfast sandwich and iced chai latte were great. We ate in the seating outside of the coffee shop but they also have a garden patio. They also had a bathroom. There was a good amount of ppl but it didn't feel busy as there is seating inside and outside. Noticed there wasn't too much diversity in the customers, but I didn't feel any negative vibes either.

Order cards to identify where to bring your order are tarot cards, which I appreciated

Went for a walk with my sister and was looking for a place to get a matcha latte. We found this spot and decided to give it a try. Multiple people greeted us and they have a wide variety of tea and drink options. I ordered a matcha latte and this was the first time where there was any topping (maybe have been nutmeg?) which I would've been okay with out. They also have a nice outdoor patio and summer hours where they are open later. It was buzzing with quite a few folks but I think you could still study or work out of there. As we were leaving they we were preparing for an open mic (it was a Saturday).

We hosted a small baby shower here, and it was absolutely perfect! The garden patio is a hidden gem--lush, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. It created the ideal setting for a cozy, memorable gathering. Planning the event was easy-- Shannon was super easy to communicate with throughout the process. The staff is warm, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of. Whether you're stopping by for a coffee or planning a small event, Julie's is a true neighborhood treasure. Can't recommend it enough!

I love a place that offers tea lattes & here there are quite a few delicious options!! Went with the classic black tea latte accompanying the avocado toast which is boosted with red pepper flakes & a balsamic drizzle! Incredible!

My partner likes all the cute mugs.

Nice coffee shop with a patio in the back and seats on the sidewalk. Back in the day I did hangout with my laptop and a cup of coffee, not so much now days. Extensive tea selection along with some beer and wine and don't forget the Momo's for the early morning girl hangout. I also like they have a kitchen and sell more than bread items. I still pop in for a coffee to go. periodically.

I usually come for a quick bite/drink and a long time ago came to study at Julie's. When I started looking for venues, I remembered how charming this little place was! I had a great experience with hosting a semi-private event in their garden for my sister's bridal shower. I had the ultimate vision in my mind and was able to execute it perfectly with Julie's! Their garden was already such a cute space that I was able to customize. Shannon their event coordinator was very flexible in offering me options to bring my idea to life. They offered various catering options with add-ons that would surely fit any event. The great thing is they have offerings for medium-large as well as small parties as well. We hosted 27 people and had half the garden to ourselves. We still felt like we had our own space and the service was great. Amazingly, all event details were all communicated via email. And in the day of, everything was exactly as we discussed. This is definitely a testament to the organization of their staff. They had the perfect afternoon tea menu to go with our event. Everyone raved about their garden, food, and experience. I would highly recommend Julie's to anyone looking to host a small get together!

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

yes, I've seen good, loving dogs there often cuddled with their humans ; just once a dog was trippin' & disturbing another dog's chi & the considerate owners took him outside :-D

Do they do a "high tea" service? Trying to access their "menu" on their website doesn't call up anything. If they do it, is it regular (i.e. most days) or is it only on occasion?

Is the garden open and do they still offer wifi?

    Yes and yes!

Do they have wifi or outlets for laptops?

I did not see outlets but they do have wifi you just have to ask for the password

Are dogs allowed in the patio?

Only if they are service dogs, as it is a food service facility. There is also a sign on the front window.

I had a day planned that included cleaning the garage, so I figured a big breakfast would be good. I walked in just before 9am, and the place was empty. A waitress greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. It's actually hard to pick a table when the place is empty. Cape 7 has a fairly large dining room. It used to be a Sizzler Restaurant. Before Cape 7, it was "Shell Shock." Cape 7 never changed the Shell Shock decor, so it has a nautical theme. A pirate stands guard by the restrooms. So I sat at a booth by the window. I sat back and the bench seat was broken. A gentleman raced over and switched the bench seats. Wow, you have to be careful when you sit down at Cape 7. I ordered a Denver Omelette w/ hash browns, a side of Pancakes, and Coffee. It took about 10-min for my food to come. By 9am more customers came in. After my food arrived, I didn't see a waitress or waiter for 20-mins. Then the owner arrived, and a waitress checked on my table every 5 mins. The Denver Omelette was made with 4 eggs. The serving size was pretty large. The two pancakes were a bit dry. I needed more butter and syrup. Instead, I used alot of jams (that were on the table). The food was okay, I might come back for breakfast again. Off street parking lot in back.

Service was quiet but attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The food was the real star. We started with the Brussels sprouts (light, crispy, and perfectly cooked), calamari (well‑seasoned and not heavy at all), and warm biscuits with whipped honey butter--so good. The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. Overall, this place is an easy 5 stars. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and memorable food. I'll definitely be back to try the dishes we couldn't get to.

For entrees we ordered the Lamb Chops, the Filet, Seafood Pasta, Pork Scallopini, and the Cheeseburger. Lamb Chops-Cooked Perfect again just like last time. Filet-was also cooked perfect (med rare), the sauce on it tasted fantastic. Seafood Pasta-Noodles cooked al dente, plenty of seafood in it, and the flavor was also great. Pork Scallopini-Mashed Potatoes light and fluffy, the brussel sprouts were different but really good, the pork was cooked perfect as well, very tender and the sauce on it was delicious. Cheeseburger-Cooked med rare which was great, plenty of meat ratio, along with the fixings on it. The fries were awesome. For dessert we had the Banoffee Tart and the Creme Brulee. Both of them were very tasty, light, and delicious. This time they added a %20 tip to the bill which is fine we normally give more than that anyway but it would have been nice to know that the tip was included and since we used a credit card, they added a fee for that which they didn't say anything about that as well. We would definitely be back again.
