Joining the Y last year was a fantastic decision. Cincinnati has tons of gardens and running paths to use during the fair weather months, but the winter is relatively unkind to outdoor exercise. Originally, one of the biggest perks of the Cincy Y membership was that it allowed you to use all Cincinnati branches. Now, you can go to any Ohio YMCA with your membership! Way to go! I know the membership pricing varies based on economic conditions, and while the Y certainly isn't the cheapest option, I will say they offer a lot of bang for your buck if you are willing to take advantage. Pools and saunas at most locations, fitness classes offered at all of them and at varying times, ActiveTrax to customize your fitness regime, weight rooms, workout facilities, personal coaching, and various free training programs from weight loss to competitive running to healthy eating make the YMCA not just a weight room, but a comprehensive facility for better living. I will say that while the Y offers a wonderful program for synchronized and competitive swimming, it wreaks havoc on the pool availability schedule. During the school year, expect the pool to be occupied whenever the children can be there. Even with 3 pools available at the Powel Crosley, it is difficult to discern from the schedule when the pool is open to the public. The good news? This review is based on my first and only visit. I used child care and the treadmill. I went on a very rainy Friday night in October. My son was only one of a few in childcare. While there was one gentleman "working" (sitting in a rocking chair playing on his phone) there was a friendly woman who got me signed in. And when I returned I saw that my son was talking and interacting with her. She was friendly and helpful and put me at ease. The fitness facility is a nice size. Certainly not the biggest I've seen, but far from the smallest. More importantly, it felt relatively clean and new. The treadmill was the same I've used at other locations. Thank goodness I could watch Food Network. Lol. I'm sure I'll return again! read more

This is my favorite Cincy area YMCA. They offer a fantastic selection of programs. The exercise equipment is State of the Art. This is better than going to any designer gym. Family oriented and a personable and engaging staff! read more

This is my Y! The gym has been recently updated. They also just added way more parking. I swim laps, sometimes, and I love that they have three pools! There's an indoor pool, an outdoor pool (open year-round! They have a bubble over it in cold weather!), and an indoor water park that also has a few lap lanes. This is definitely one the best YMCA facilities I have encountered in my career for YMCA exploration. Why I consider this one pretty amazing is it's pool. It has an outdoor 50m (Olympic) size pool and it is absolutely gorgeous and its upkeep is clean,therefore, always looks blue and refreshing. In the winter time, they take a huge dome and cover it so you can still use it. I play water polo here on a regular basis with my masters team and I absolutely enjoy it. they also have sand Volleyball courts and indoor pools as well. Joined a little over a year ago and glad. The Y is certainly not the cheapest place to get a membership, but I feel like my money goes a long way. A Y membership in Ohio is now good for any location throughout the state. With a handful of Y's throughout the Cincinnati area that means you have access to a pools, hot tubs, saunas, weight and exercise rooms, gymnasiums, racquet ball courts, classes, and more stuff than I can really remember. Powel Crosley itself has three pools including a water play area and an outdoor pool facility that is put under a bubble in the winter time. It also has a relaxing sauna. this has to be one of the worst YMCA locations I have ever been to, the staff, more so the administration does not care about the well being of the younger population. the swim team is not what the Y revolves around. the director of this YMCA will never answer any concerns or email back. they take away classes that are catered to younger groups. I even talk to the front desk staff about how they aren't heard by the admin that woks there. they have someone in charge of the fitness classes there that is not qualified and they are never there past 4pm to even see how the place is ran in the evenings , that place is a mad house they turn people away read more

Our family of 5 loves the PC Jr. YMCA! The child watch hours are so convenient when I need a break from the kids so I can get a great workout in at the fitness center, Zumba or strength training. My 3 children absolutely love when Emily and Rona are the child watch caretakers, and so do I. They both speak to my kids so kindly, are understanding and so patient. I feel so comfortable when they are there! There are alot of options for group classes, swim lessons and my daughter's favorite- tigersharks swim team. Summer is great when the enormous outdoor pool is open but even when it's not the indoor water park is so much fun! This is a wonderful family friendly, safe atmosphere we enjoy daily! read more

The front desk staff is amazing and you couldn't ask for a better swim instructor than Ms. Cathy. I'm constantly impressed. The pools are always clean and we have had fun every time we've been here! My kids love the kiddie pool and kid's club! read more

Small and cramped. Parking is a pain when they have swim meets. They have Tv's built into the treadmills which are nice but they don't always work. read more

Needs updates to the sauna, locker rooms and showers. Overall nice community vibes and a lot more to do. I would like to see it open longer on the weekends for those who work during the week. The staff is nice. (recent changes shows more diversity) Overall the YMCA is a awesome place to spend time getting in shape, meeting new people and spending time with your family. read more

Fitness center is okay. Nice selection of dumbbells for sure. Varied quality of weight machines. Even though it is small, It never seems to get too crowded in the fitness center whenever I go. The huge outdoor pool (soon to be covered with a dome to stay open year-round) is the main attraction, and if you are a serious lap swimmer, this is THE place to go. Repairs are awful. Things stay broken for months! Sana is broken for 3 months at a time The pool is top priority but only to the swim team. You will often find you can't swim because the swim team is there and then the pools for the most part is closed to the normal members. The YMCA is not what it once was. This particular location caters to the Wyoming schools swim team. They receive special funding from them. The gym is substandard compared to every day health clubs/fitness centers. Worn equipment and stays out of order. For the money there are much better places to go. Not everything is negative about this YMCA, lots of good people there but their under some poor management. Please save your money and check out other options or another YMCA. read more
