A big royal palm was damaged in a wind storm and they replaced it. I lost most of the bushes and a couple of palm trees after Milton. A couple of months ago they replaced 30 pitch apple and planted about 25 Areca Palms and other plants. Quality of the plants were exceptional. Bill and Leann are very pleasant and straight forward. I have spent a significant amount over these two projects and I had several bids and they were competitive. When you are spending a lot of money you should ask a lot of questions and get comfortable before pulling the trigger. It will alleviate misunderstandings.

My first order included a mulberry that arrived with a fungus and scale infestation. I treated it myself with neem oil because I didn't want the hassle of returning it. They offered me a $10 refund, which I accepted. The bigger issue was my second order. The Water Jasmine I received was nothing like what I expected. At first, I thought the main branch had simply broken during shipping. After examining the tree more closely, I discovered that the original main trunk had already been cut off, and the tree was relying on a very thin secondary branch--which was the part that broke during shipping. This was not a healthy or properly developed tree, and certainly not worth the price I paid. When I contacted the seller, they refused to take responsibility. Instead of offering a reasonable solution, they told me I would have to pay to ship the tree back at my own expense, and they would only refund the $25 cost of the tree--not the shipping I paid to receive it. Since their shipping charges increase with each additional plant, I would lose a significant amount of money for a tree that arrived in unacceptable condition. I spent over $250 on additional bonsai because I trusted this company. Instead of standing behind their products or valuing a repeat customer, they chose to make me pay for their mistake. What makes this even more frustrating is that this company charges higher shipping costs with every additional plant you purchase. I already paid inflated shipping to receive the order, and now they expect me to pay again just to return a tree that never should have been shipped in the first place. That's unacceptable. I spent my money on this company because I trusted them. Instead of standing behind their products, they shifted the cost of their mistake onto the customer. If you're buying bonsai online, be aware that the tree you receive may not match your expectations, and if there's a serious issue, don't expect customer service to make it right. In an effort to try something different, I went to Depot Nursery. The owner (Alex) is knowledgable, easy to work with, and not afraid to steer you away from plants that won't do well in certain yard spaces with particular needs. All of the plants I purchased from Depot Nursery have survived and thrived well into maturity.... Which tells me that the plants they sell are of great quality. Their delivery was available quickly, installed quickly by Alex's guys, and I even had Alex cut in the garden beds and mulch afterwords. Their prices, selection and available service are better than any in town! Not to mention the fact that I've been able to place a special order with the wonderful manager Nicole for specific plants from them that aren't/weren't available from any nursery in town. I recommend this place to all of my friends and family.

They claim to be Aborists but it is almost as if they have no training on how to trim a "palm tree"…read moreat all. Granted they worked hard, but the owrkers do not know any better. It looks like some amatuers came through and over trimmed an entire neighborhood and left just a few palms standing up on top of each palm tree, which any aborist will tell you is not good. Palm trees are different from Deciduous and Coniferous trees. Older fronds provide nutrients as they go to yellow then brown. When trimming, you are to leave anything at or above 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock alone. Not only do these older fronds continue to provide sustenance for the new fronds, but as they wilt, they pull the base of the frond away from the tree, creating space for the tree to expand and grow as thick as the stump below it. By ridiculously over cutting, these palms are now "growth interrupted", and will never grow out properly. The tree is not going to get much taller, and any additional height will be string bean thin at the top. Now most people giving good reviews have no idea how palms grow and are just happy they will not have to deal with the palms for a few years, because it has been so over trimmed! They are conditioned to see these over trimmed palms as "neatly trimmed" when actually the growth is being permanantly stunted, and the top of the tree will stay thin, because cutting the young fronds to soon stops the expansion and strangles the neck of the tree. Normal trees will grow back if you cut below the "branches and leaves line". Did you know if you cut the top leaves completely off of any palm tree, it dies.....we all see a very tall stump on occasion....it is from over cutting.

Jose, the leader of the crew was very nice and accommodating as we revised the original order. I also appreciated the follow up call to confirm my satisfaction with them. Maloney provided directions for sod care and these were followed carefully. After a week or two, the new sod had died. When I complained, Matt told me that sod webworms had jumped from my establish lawn into the newly sodded area and this is why the new sod died. This being the case, there was nothing that Maloney had to do. This did not make sense since my established lawn was healthy, and continued to be healthy. With this in mind, I contacted the University of Florida Extension Service and explained the situation. I was advised that "... really don't think sod webworms where the problem as the existing turf grass looks fairly good... webworms would not only go after the new newly laid sod unless there was a severe infestation already in the new sod". I called Maloney and explained what the experts at the University of Florida told me. Matt then told me that he did not grow the sod. He explained that he purchased the sod and because of this fact, his company had no responsiblity. I argued that I purchased of sod from his company and not the sod grower. This made no difference! Weeks ago, I sent a letter to Maloney asking for reimbursement in the sum of $465 which includes the cost of the sod, old sod removal and installation of new sod. To the best of my knowledge, Maloney has not responded and I have been totally ignored. Unfortunately, my next step is the small claims court. Not my choice, but I have no alternative. My advice is to think twice before using Maloney!

This is an olive tree. Note the shape that is nothing like the artistic shapes you see on the website. Also note that the leaves are completely dried out and falling off. In the next day or so they will all be off. I called for perspective, and some reassurance. I spoke with Lou who has an incredibly pushy vibe and was not at all helpful. He could not tell me why the leaves were falling off. He suggested that it was because of my location, but my house is at 49% humidity, neither overly hot nor cold. In other words, it is much like any other location that he might be shipping to. If the leaves falling off is normal, then all he had to do was say so, but I suspect that is not the case. He had no interest in sorting this out or making sure I was happy or reassured. The plant just looks bad, and I have no idea whether it will survive or not. Packaging and shipping were good, and the weather has been OK the past few days that it would have been in transit. So I would assume that is not why the leaves are falling off. This was a gift to commemorate the life of a relative who recently passed away, a sweet gesture from my daughter, and I don't have the heart to tell her that her generous gift has these issues, or I would suggest that she ask for her money back or dispute the credit card charge.
