I was looking to buy my first bonsai tree and I couldn't find any suppliers that weren't insane prices in California. I came across Wigert's Bonsai's website and sent in an inquiry about a couple of trees. I got a text back shortly from one of the workers Angela. She took tons of pictures of different trees for me and helped me find the style I was looking for. I don't think I've ever had a better experience buying ANYTHING than I did buying bonsai trees on the other side of the country at Wigert's through a phone. Seriously, I only wanted one tree and ended up buying four. I couldn't be happier. Trees arrived in amazing condition and look way better in person. 10 stars!!

Wow! Great bonsai nursery deep in Florida. Right off hwy 41 with plenty of parking and plenty of things to see. I was on vacation in Florida (from NC) and was shopping for some trees to take home with me. We pulled in the parking lot and John said greeted us and he answered all my questions and gave me two recommendations (Chinese elm and dawn redwood). I went home with both! I was super satisfied with the selection they had, as well as the really huge/old bonsais they had on display. John was so helpful and I will definitely come back when I'm in the region!

My first visit to Wigert's was to see what it was all about, have always loved the beauty of bonsai but never visited a bonsai nursery. After several more visits just to enjoy the beauty of the bonsai, a friend and I decided to sign up for a two-day beginner's class. Our instructor Jason was great! He combined show and tell with our workbook to prepare us for our hands-on work with our tree. Snipping off the 3/4's of each leaf seemed harsh, but it is necessary to be able to see all the trunk and branches, plus to develop the tree's canopy. Wiring the branches and gently moving them into position to start creating the tree's shape was satisfying. I am looking forward to next week when we repot our trees. Interested in bonsai, visit Wigert's, they have a wonderful selection of plants pre-bonsai and bonsai, plus all the necessary tools, soil, wire, etc. to meet your needs.

I needed a beautiful zen place to just be and I found it at this incredible place. I felt very relaxed and stress free while being allowed to roam free and explore the beauty that is bonsai. I met a nice man named John who would just appear every once in a while and check in on me. There's enough room to roam and be in your own space. I know I will be back.

Excellent selection of healthy bonsai. The prices are fair. The owner is helpful at directing you toward plants which will work for you.

Easy, flat walking tour (or you can ride in their golf cart). Jane was great as a tour guide, with a wealth of knowledge and an easygoing style of sharing information. What an incredible amount of plants here ! While their focus is more on edible plants and plantings, there was more than enough for people interested in colorful or blooming plants and trees. Beautiful setting, like walking through a tropical arboretum, lush and tropical. We were given samples of probably a dozen leaves to eat or smell through our tour. It really opened my eyes to trying to plant a few things that I hadn't considered before. There's also a small gift shop with some unique items as well as a nursery/garden center with some of the many plants that we had seen on our tour. Nice variety and decent prices !

According to their website "we carry plants, garden supplies, books, gifts, and locally made items. Maximizing the enjoyment of life spaces through nature, imagination and thrift." Rick Molek is the owner of Thrifty Garden and he opened this micro-nursery in January of 2018. In addition to the gifts and plant supplies, Molek offers workshops on raising houseplants and also offers a houseplant hospital by appointment. Houseplants are a great choice for novice gardeners when Florida's temperatures start to soar the 90's. Thrifty Garden offers many different types of houseplants in the shop, and prices are affordable so you can flex your green thumb with minimal risk. They have offered in-person classes on plant care ever since the shop opened and with the pandemic they added online and phone coaching too. Don't forget that they offer beer and wine too. Now that is the kind of gardening that anyone can get behind. Check out their selection of raw honey and naughty garden gnomes. You can find a list of events on their website.

I think it is a great place to support and promote local fellows. They also sell cold beer, we had a couple while we were waiting for our table over at Bullig and the lady at the front is the sweetest, she gave me tips on how to take care of ny pothos plant back home. Their patio outside is wonderful to catch a breeze while taking sips on a cold beer.
