I brought my lawn tractor tire in for repair and they said it had to be replaced. Fine, I bought a new tire. When I put the new tire on the tractor, I saw the tractor leaning to one side. I thought maybe the sold me the wrong sized tire but eventually I realized the tire was not inflated properly. I filled the tire with air and it was fine. Two weeks later, the tire was flat indicating a slow leak. I took the tire back to fix the slow leak and they said they couldn't find the leak. Ok, you sold me a new tire that leaked so replace it with another new tire. But no, they put a tube in the tire. Ok, not what I expected but that's fine. My guess is they didn't even look for the leak. BUT THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE TUBE!!! They said they gave me a break and didn't charge me for the labor, huh??? THEY SOLD ME A NEW TIRE THAT LEAKED AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR!!!! Not to mention, when I picked up the tire, I waited forever for service. 3 people at the counter and noone offered help. Luckily, someone came from the back and offered assistance. Who knows how long I would have waited if he didn't come out. NOT IMPRESSED. read more

horrible all the way around! they definitely need to get some new employees, especially service department. I called to have my machine serviced one day after I mowed the lawn. They said they could pick up the machine two days after that. I told them to do a basic oil change service, which I agreed to pay $300 for on my 777 ,72" inch zero turned. I mentioned to service that I was town for a couple of but I wanted the machine back as soon as possible. To be able to mow in seven or eight days after the original pick up, I called five days later they did not even look at the machine. I called on the sixth day. They had not even got me an estimate yet I told them to drop off my machine back in my driveway. You're better off using a small mama papa shop to service your equipment or Kabota dealer. read more

Scheduled a lawn tractor pick up for 4 weeks out (which itself was crazy). Told them it was dead, new battery, no sound when turning key. The guy showed up late and alone, he couldn't pick it up. When I called them back, they said it was too large for 1 person. They could send 2 guys but it would cost 2-3 times their original pick up fee. What happened to Customer Service in this country? Will the service industry ever return to pre-Covid/pre-Trump standards, or have these 2 permanently made some Americans lazy and incompotent? read more

I was unable to start lawn mower after winter storage. Unit had been run dry last fall as usual and with new fuel felt like molasses when trying to pull start. Shop said about 4 weeks and $60 to diagnose. They called back 10 days later with word "carb would not take a clean and needs to be replaced" for $350. As unit was 30 months old and warranty was for 60 months I accepted if repaired under warrenty. They declined and I brought home planing to replace with new carb from amazon for $25. Before ordering part, tried to pull start and it successfully started first pull. So far I've cut lawn twice with no issues. I question the service diagnosis and quote of $350 to fix what? read more

Even though they are very nice people they have serious problems with their service department I've been trying to get my tractor fixed at this location spent about $4000 to repair a bucket drifting they change a cylinder which they should not however after picking up the equipment it has not been tested and I believe they did not put any hydraulic fluid. The unit was returned to the shop I have not heard from them yet service has taken approximately three months without solving my basic problem. went to store to purchase trimmer and ended up buying lawnmower with slightly used 54in deck and snowblower combo. It was a good deal. The SA was very nice in explaining how it was a great deal for the size and almost new condition. We expanded to him that er recently purchased large property and he was reassuring that 54in is great for us. Forward week and delivery went great , delivery person was informative and knowledgeable. Now , after he left I realized that deck delivered was 48in not the 54in???? After calling the guy who sold it to us he proceeded to claim that I demanded smaller size???? !!! Then he called our office and claimed that he actually did as a favor and upgraded with ''more expensive and better 48in''???!!! And third phone call was that there was a mistake and that it was 48in all along??!! So mr Ian... which one of the three options it is? Our options are return the whole thing or shut up and go away. Shady establishmen be aware of the scams, I contacted the JD directly and they are opening the case sidin with me that it's very shady and unprofessional but warning that those dealers are independent and there is not much JD can do. The service dept is a SCAM especially when they recommend parts like pulleys and axels be replaced on a John Deere rider that is only 2 years old and only gets used once a week. I do send in my rider for yearly basic service (oil change, filter and inspection). They always recommend service above and beyond the basics with the last time giving me a repair recommendation of almost 800 dollars! I did authorize these repairs to be made but it's a one and done now. I feel service is being pressured to sell customers on excess repairs and outrageous prices by technicians that are not honest. They are the only major mower shop in the area and clearly take advantage of their monopoly. After this JD Rider fails, I will go back to Simplicity and buy from Walts in Ringoes. I regret not going there to begin with given my experience with him has been excellent and was never pressured to make unnecessary repairs on an almost brand new mower. Beware of Power Place, I do not trust them anymore! They are OK to buy from but avoid their service dept at all costs! read more

I had Power Place pick up my tractor three weeks ago for a recall. I have been since instructed that the machines are serviced based on when the repair in called in, not picked up. Meaning that, they were more than happy to pick up the tractor a month early and leave me with no expectation on completion prior to picking up the machine. I now have to pay someone to cut my grass that has been growing for a month straight! When I call I get different estimates. For example "hopefully by the end of the week, definitely early next week." Then find out, after I wait a week to hear anything else, that I am still behind a ton of other work orders, and now there is no ETA. I would never ever use them again, nor would I buy a darn thing from them. Horrendous customer service, not even an apology. read more

Avoid this place at all costs, bought a chainsaw as a "demo" I was told that someone bought it and used it for a day and the saw wasn't big enough. 3 uses and 2.5 hours later the saw stops working, i take the saw to another dealer to diagnose the problem, come to find out the saw needs a new piston and rings and that power place had already replaced the same parts from the previous owner. I ask power place about the service and at first they said they never performed the service, I proceed to tell them I have it in writing from Stihl, miraculously he finds the service record for the work and that I'm beat. 600 dollar saw used 3 times, 2 pistons and these guys won't lift a finger. I will never spend another dime at this fraudulent place. read more

Bought a John Deere mower, salesman was very helpful and applied no pressure. Price was same as big box stores with free delivery. Big box stores would deliver in 11 days, Power Place delivered in three. Well laid out showroom. Will use them for maintenance if necessary. Highly recommended. read more

RIP OFF Masters: I brought in a chainsaw for service, they told me I need a spark plug, new carb, air and fuel filter and the blade is dull. What else is there??? Before I gave it to them, I put in a brand new spark plug and a new chain! The chain never saw wood and the spark plug never saw the machine running! How could a blade be dull if it never cut a single piece of wood....The told me my carb was full of water from leaving gas in it. Any time I use it, I run it to all the gas is out, which has stable in it then put stable in the chainsaw and pull it several times so it is impossible to have water in it. All this took 4 weeks on top of it. They never called me, I had to check in and the guy had a major attitude when I spoke to him. They didn't like that I know what I am talking about. They charged me $280 and a new one is $311. They are a complete rip off center, DO NOT go there!!!! read more

I took a chain saw in for repair and made a $50 deposit. I called a few days later and was told that the carburetor was ruined from running old gas thru it. They told me the repair would be an additional $70 or $120 total. Two days later they told me that they were unable to get parts and could not repair it. (They inferred that it was so old that it was not worth repairing.) They still charged me $50, but gave me back a saw that was not running. I bought a 3rd party carburetor from Amazon for $15, which I installed in 10 minutes, and the saw runs fine now. If the saw is so old that they cannot get parts then why take it in and charge me $50 ? If they cannot get stihl parts then why not offer to put in 3rd part parts to get the saw running ? Overall not a good place to get repairs. It feels like they just want to sell replacements instead of repair older machines. read more

Called yesterday morning, lovely lady answered the phone but could not answer any of my questions, then finally said let me get you a salesperson (which I asked for at the start), told her I would stop by after work and confirmed closing hours. Arrived at 4:45 and walked the outside looking at lawnmowers, no one around, went inside, only one person at desk, no greeting, waited walked around inside showroom, finally man came out, asked is I needed sales, went back to his phone, left me standing in middle of showroom, woman came up steps, he went and took care of her, and I walked out 5:15 (still 15 minutes prior to closing). For all the money they spent on the expansion, they should have hired a store manager to make sure sales don't walk out the door. Went to Flemington, bought John Deer lawnmower and paid cash gets delivered tonight... so sad, I lived right around the corner. Will never go back..... so much for nice neighbors. read more

I wanted to review this place again after further experiences. After receiving my snow blower back, I found it wasn't working quite right. After a few troubleshooting phone calls both Power Place and I were convinced something further was wrong. This time the transaction was smoother. First they picked the machine up quickly as a snowstorm was coming in a couple days, and they returned it in one or two days. They found two things still wrong after the first service and fixed them at no additional cost. I appreciated the transaction much more this time around. read more

After further conversation it seems that the incident which precipitated my negative review may have been the result of a mistake on their part, to which they have admitted and apologized. The owner got involved and extended himself to make up for the problem. I appreciate the effort and will continue to be a good customer of theirs. read more
