Avoid this place if you value basic courtesy. I was visiting from out of town and stopped by to ask about purchasing a day pass. During the conversation, I briefly mentioned and offered to show them the FTNSS app, which helps connect travelers to gyms in new cities. Instead of a simple "not interested," the response was dismissive and unnecessarily rude. I understand not every business wants to engage, but there's a respectful way to communicate that. I recently started going to Power Shack and it's an efficient gym with plenty of weights and cardio options. The staff is always kind and greets me when I walk in and when I walk out. Every time I've been there I've seen the staff do extra cleaning on all of the equipments which makes me feel more safe coming. This location has a studio with mirrors, which is nice for warm ups, cool downs, or doing your workouts in. There are weights and mats too! read more

This place is a dump. They now charge $559 for a one-year membership. You should go across the parking lot to Crunch Fitness or Planet Fitness that charge a fraction of what this place charges. There are problems with the equipment and heating and cooling. Things don't get fixed because the owner can't afford it. They have three TVs, I hope you like watching fox news. The staff is rude and not helpful. They tout this place as a family-owned business. The Powershack is as screwed up as the owners. read more

Great gym, rarely crowded, clean, mostly for serious weightlifters, tons of equipment, well worth extra money

Unfortunately this is the worst gym I've ever been to. Every machine is decades old. Dozens of broken machines and dozens with "duct tape" repairs. Locker rooms smell like sewage and overall cleanliness is nonexistent. Not friendly or welcoming and overall poor location. read more

There's some nice specialty equipment and lots of free weights which is great but it's not unexpected to find something worn out or flat out broken (see the treadmill pics below on another person's review). The place is cleaner than the Westerville location but not by much. The Zach W. guy below who gave a shill 5 five star review was an employee of the company when he wrote that review so if you do an average of all the scores without his review included (which violates Yelp rules) this place has a much lower star rating on the whole and you'll notice a downhill trend that the first two reviews for this place were high and have been low in more recent years. Staff is normally great but they are paid pennies and are expected wot work miracles. For the amount of the membership, you would think that there would be new equipment and that ownership would fix broken equipment very quickly. Unfortunately I have seen equipment sit out of order for months and the staff feeling horrible about it because owner is a cheapskate who only cares about the bottom line. Wanted to share that the staff is amazing and especially impressed lately with one in particular named Ali. I just started working out at this location with my friend/trainer Constance. Luckily they agreed to let any of her current/previous clients train with her without a membership to the gym (obviously we can't be there unless with her). So far the place seems really nice. The locker room is decently large, with two full showers. There is plenty of equipment and I love how they've separated the two sides of the gym with a wall of mirrors. Other clientele seems kind, and cleans up after themselves which is wonderful and more than I can say for the last gym I attended. If only they had a pool, but I probably wouldn't want to pay those big gym prices for something I would rarely use anyway. read more

Best equipment and the most knowledgable staff of any public gym I've been to. I've been a member of multiple gyms on the northwest side of Columbus and Power Shack hands down is the best gym for results! If you're looking for a country club feel, you've come to the wrong place, go join Lifetime Fitness for that and expect to be sold an expensive training membership that lacks results. If you're looking for top notch equipment, knowledgeable staff, and lasting results in strength and aesthetics head to Power Shack and don't be shy to ask Patrick or Mitchell for advice. They are more than helpful and know what they're talking about. Regarding the issues Robert has had on equipment and cleanliness, equipment sometimes breaks it's the name of the game. In my 6 years of being a member I have never experienced an issue of prolonged equipment issues. Yes I'll give him that the locker room could use some updating but it's NOT dirty. It's just not sexy. It seems as though the local ownership may be putting their money into the equipment and knowledgeable staff which I would take any day over a sexy looking locker room. read more

I attend this location as well as the location in Grove City. As a...um...chubby person, I'm never made to feel uncomfortable when working out here. It never feels like a meat market, everyone seems focused on their goals and cleans up the equipment after use. There's a good variety of equipment and I've never had to wait to use the treadmill or elliptical machines, there's a circuit set up as well as free-weights. The locker rooms are always clean and there's a sauna to relax in. Overall I'm very pleased with my membership and I'll re-sign up when my contract is over. I wish the Grove City location had the Kids Zone, that's my only complaint. read more

The people who work here are always very nice and helpful. However, when I signed up last December I was told that I could cancel my membership at anytime. When I called AAC (the people who bill me every month) claimed I wasn't able to cancel because I wasn't paying on a month to month basis. Well, I AM paying on a month to month basis. So, I went in the next day and asked to go over my contract with one of the employees who worked there. He said I had signed up for an entire year and there was no way I could get out of it. He was very apologetic but I still have to pay for the rest of the year. I'm upset because I feel mislead and was lied to when I was told I could cancel at anytime. After the end of this year, I'll never get another membership at a Power Shack. read more

I went to this gym for a full year and was satisfied with my experience. Friendly, helpful staff and good equipment / patrons. After my year membership ended I switched to a cheaper gym for financial reasons but noticed I kept getting charged on my credit card. It turns out one of their employees renewed my membership without my consent and I'm stuck footing the bill because of their contract language with a third party billing company that takes a written notice and 30 days to cancel. I spoke with the location manager who was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't do anything but refer me to their billing company. I have no respect for a manager who hides behind contract language instead of taking responsibility for himself or his employees. I will never recommend this gym to anyone in the future. Crunch Fitness across the street is awesome though. read more

They have all kinds of equipment and they try to keep it clean. The gym facility itself is great, but I have stopped going to this location because the staff has made me feel uncomfortable on multiple occasions. The high school/college aged boys that use the gym as an after school hangout stare, snicker, and have asked me if I have a boyfriend. One trainer has interrupted my workout/needed to remove my headphones so he could "give me some workout tips" and start a conversation about where I work, what I do, etc. And then continues interrupt workouts on multiple other occasions just to chat. I've actually felt uncomfortable enough to leave the gym before finishing my workout, because all of the above situations made me less than welcome. I love the gym facility and location, but there are more than a few ways to seriously improve. read more

We were lied to from the beginning about the childcare options. There is no "Kid's Place" for the kids at the Hilliard location. In fact, they looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned it. Their website is not up to date. Now, I am trying to cancel my membership after a year and AAC sends me to Power Shack, Power Shack sends me back to them and said I need a CERTIFIED LETTER to get out of a non-contract membership. Do not get into this money trap. Apparently they are attempting to keep you in a lifelong membership against your will. read more

I had signed up for a 1 year membership in April 2015. In June of 2016, I realized my account was still being charged. Confused, I called for a explanation in which I was told I had renewed in April. Um, no? I haven't been in over 6 months (I signed up for a new, cleaner gym with better equipment that didn't regularly break down and bathrooms that weren't disgusting). I was told to call back when a manager was working - so I did - and he said after 12 months my contract became a month to month agreement. Okay, maybe you should have brought that up beforehand... but then I was told they don't handle cancellations and to do so I needed to call their third party billing partner. Seriously? They had no problem signing me up... I called Affiliated Acceptance, their third party partner known for customer complaints and fraudulence, and was told I needed to write a physical, post-office certified cancellation letter and mail it in stating my name and account number and it would take 30 days to process. So another month of being charged... Are you kidding me?! Had I known this information was hidden in my contract or that Power Shack worked with such stone age shady partners I would have never signed up. read more

The Hilliard location was very different and had very poor customer service. The manager was very hard to work with and did not want what was best for his members. read more
