Unfortunately many who came to play like us just adjusted and played with the tennis nets on the courts. It would be nice if a portable pickleball net was kept here like other parks, but it seems priority is for tennis here (amounting to around 8 tennis courts total here). Needless to say, I like the maintenance at the park here. There were also gated courts for concrete soccer, which was interesting. Lots of gnats flying around the area, but could be due to local weather. I've been here before and I was driving down the street and I saw it and I decided to stop in for a spin at first I thought I was alone but then a couple of people creeped out out of the corners. I was a young boy in his father sitting on a bench and the other was a young high school kid. There are a lot of quarter pipe ramps with varying degrees of steepness I tried a few of them, but some are too steep for me. The little boy was able to do them, though I was able to do my nose stall on a mini latch. I rode the bowl, but since I don't drop in, I don't get much speed. It's a fine challenging park. I'll be back if I'm in the neighborhood I'm sure.

I was super early to the yelpies 2025 event at King Richard's antique store so to pass by time, I…read moredecided to walk this trail for about an hour to get my steps in. The sun already set and it's dark but I still check out a short part of this trail and other people were on this trail as well, walking, jogging, biking, walking their dogs so it was dark but it was not scary! I got about 2 miles in and was satisfied with my walk before the event began. The trail was clean and I did not see any trash.

As most people have mentioned, I did see some homeless people while running. Overall, I felt very safe and it was one of the most enjoyable runs I've had in awhile. I parked at Parnell Park and ran a total of 8 miles. The trail is directly across from the park. I can't wait to come here again for more runs!

I saw a playground, a pond, a bridge, several trees, and people enjoying themselves. There are areas where people can set up for activity and eating, at least one appeared to be reserved. This park is near the 5 and 605 freeways. It was not too crowded on the Sunday mornings that I visited earlier this year.

Watch for the ducks, geese, turtles and fish just be sure if you hang out with the birds you have shoes that wash off easily. Bunnies are often seen in the shrubs, darling and so fun to spot. They recently gutted this entire park so everything is new. Bring lunch and use one of the picnic tables or find a tree to sit under. This is a great park with a bathroom near the playground, swing in and check it out. The gorgeous flora alone is worth the visit.

I also decided to…read moregive it a try because our usual spot, Home Run Dog Park in Lakewood, is currently closed for maintenance. The dog park is located toward the corner end of the park near the end of the parking lot and is split into two sections, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. There is not too much to boast about, but they do provide a water fountain for dogs and doggy bags for cleanup, which is nice. The area itself is fairly small, with only one bench and one tree that provides little to no shade. I do like that it has grass, but even though it is still a new dog park, there are already patches where the soil is showing through. Overall, it is a decent spot for a quick visit or short play session, but I personally would not choose it for a longer stay with my dog. We will definitely be returning to Home Run Dog Park once it reopens.

Went to Ruth R. Caruthers Park mainly for the skate park on (7/16/22)…read more My 7 and 9-year-olds ended up wanting to take their scooters around the park for a lap. There's a lot of sidewalk & other concrete areas for that. Then we noticed that the splash pad was on... I didn't even know that there was one at this park. Lol. It's kiddie size, but on a hot July day, kids don't care! While there is definitely room for improvement and maintenance could be better, this is still a good place to let off some steam. The adults at the skate park were very patient & helpful with my 9-year-old on her skateboard. The bowl was on the tough side for her, a beginner. Thanks crew! Plenty of free parking lot and on the nearby streets.

Grafitti in the back area, basketball courts have not rims, court has large cracks through the center, it's even missing a fence! It's embarrassing and shameful! Kids play area is ripped up and so dirty. It's hazardous. I walk my dogs there only cause it's close. Does anyone even work there!?

I been calling Lugo Park for the last week to reserve a spot for a party. Nobody never answer the…read morephone and there wasn't a voice recorder either. I was so mad cause there was no instruction on how to go by. I found out from my cousin that i had to go thru the City hall. It will help the community to have a voice recorder with instruction where to go or where to call. Thank you
