Came to check out the new dog park since they recently had their grand opening. I also decided to give it a try because our usual spot, Home Run Dog Park in Lakewood, is currently closed for maintenance. The dog park is located toward the corner end of the park near the end of the parking lot and is split into two sections, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. There is not too much to boast about, but they do provide a water fountain for dogs and doggy bags for cleanup, which is nice. The area itself is fairly small, with only one bench and one tree that provides little to no shade. I do like that it has grass, but even though it is still a new dog park, there are already patches where the soil is showing through. Overall, it is a decent spot for a quick visit or short play session, but I personally would not choose it for a longer stay with my dog. We will definitely be returning to Home Run Dog Park once it reopens. read more

Went to Ruth R. Caruthers Park mainly for the skate park on (7/16/22). My 7 and 9-year-olds ended up wanting to take their scooters around the park for a lap. There's a lot of sidewalk & other concrete areas for that. Then we noticed that the splash pad was on... I didn't even know that there was one at this park. Lol. It's kiddie size, but on a hot July day, kids don't care! While there is definitely room for improvement and maintenance could be better, this is still a good place to let off some steam. The adults at the skate park were very patient & helpful with my 9-year-old on her skateboard. The bowl was on the tough side for her, a beginner. Thanks crew! Plenty of free parking lot and on the nearby streets. read more

Garbage hours. No lights at the skatepark. Then they wonder why there's always needles and graffiti in the skatepark in the mornings. Makes it unsafe for kids. Tennis courts close early on the weekends. The city should hire people to work a late shift. read more

Cute park! They are under construction so I wasn't sure if there will be a playground for kids. I came here a couple time. Seem to be over crowded with kid sport practice. I usually exercise here once in a blue moon, today the moon was very blue. Caruthers Park is known for being gently tucked away in between a suburban residential area, the 91 fwy and the San Gabriel riverbed. Basketball courts, baseball, open field, swings for kids and benches, just what you expect in a park. While this park is not as huge as the other Bellflower park this one has a skate park. I saw a few dogs out which did not seem a problem to anyone. It was rather quite except for all the people enjoying themselves. I saw a couple of courts with only one or two guys playing, I thought about challenging them but, nah, I am no Michael Jordan. I spent less time in the park than at the riverbed area, but the park was very usefull as the park is where I park. read more

Cute little park I just hate how there's no shade!! I literally paked me a bed on the go just to relax since I work nights and here I am leaving a review on a dirty hard bench anyways, love the kiddie pool and their hours. Now I can bring my little one here. Happy yelping! read more

Nice ok park... however, my son wanted to go skate, but too many young teenagers hanging out and rolling joints and smoking pot... So he skated by the kids playground. Not as fun but will do. read more

This place is pretty big and located not too far from the 91 freeway exit at Bellflower, hidden at the end of a neighborhood. The fraternity I'm a little sis for had their 17th Anniversary at this particular park recently, so I made a stop by here for the first time. Pros: _Big - plenty of grassy areas, along with benches and tables _Restrooms _Basketball courts _Ice cream trucks seem to always be over here - I saw 3 of them roll up at the same time when I was there _Playground for kids _Parking - lotsss of parking _Clean _Lots of trees with shade Cons: _No dogs - apparently we aren't allowed to bring our pooches out here because of careless owners who don't clean up after their pets. I guess there's a designated dog park nearby _No bounce houses allowed! At the anniversary, we had a lot of alumni with kids and I spoke with some of the bros who were saying they were trying to rent a bounce house for those kids, but weren't allowed to. Lameeee. Overall, it was okay. I wouldn't really go back to it again because it's a bit out of my way and they don't allow dogs here. read more

The skatepark section is fun, no doubt. The park is kid friendly too. Sometimes some river people wander off the path, not threatening though. Has a kiddy pool (piss pot) when it's too hot. It has a snack shack and a staff that patrols for trash. It can get really crowded on holidays and big sports tourneys. Don't mind the horses walking by, it's Bellflower. Enjoy. PS- I hate the new camera tower at the skatepark, but, Man, if it didn't solve their graffiti problem. Props. read more

Cool little park lived around the corner for a couple years. Loved when they put in the skate park. They have a small workout area and a hand ball court. I like the fact that you can walk a crossed a small bridge to see hole 3 and 4 of ironwood nine golf course. Spent a lot of time there well I was in Bellflower. read more

On weekends its packed here! Today was first time here on a weekday, its very nice without all the people. Finally walked into the park and found out its not dog friendly. Kinda sad cause my bobo was totally enjoying the park! read more

This park is located in the city of Bellflower just off of the 91fwy & Bellflower blvd. Plenty of free parking available(lot and street) at this park with Spacious grassy areas to picnic and BBQ. There are basketball and tennis courts as well as a skatepark located adjacent to the park. A couple of icecream trucks seem to just circle the park so you can usually satisfy your sweet tooth as well. The surrounding neighborhood has properties w/ stables so it is not uncommon to see horseback riders passing by. Cool spot to chill and have a picnic. read more

Over all a great park it has a great trail .. it follows the San gabriel river and it's really a hidden gem in bellflower..

The skatepark is the best thing about this park!! If you want a good bowl sesh go to caruthers!! best bowl within 50 miles I would say! The stair sets are unique so it's a pretty good park, I skate like 10 miles to get there like 3 times a week! read more

It has a tennis court, a basketball court, a couple playgrounds, but vibe was, it's mediocre, not as clean.

Good place to stop for a quick bite and rest. Just off the 91 and close to the 605. However if you stop there on Wednesdays the City of Bellflower street cleans. Street Cleaning signs are posted but not on all side streets close to the park. Be careful if you park on Ripon Ave. First right off of Flora Vista. read more
