I was a big fan of Powerhouse Pools prior to the new management taking over. You can tell by my prior review. Since the new team has taken over, it has been an extremely painful experience. In a nutshell, they abandoned servicing my pool with no notice. I emailed three times and did not receive any response and saw my pool turn for the bad (see pics) over those three weeks. I then get a text message saying that they had stop servicing my neighborhood as one of their technicians had left. The only excuse of this text coming so late was that they had typo'd on my cell number. While I totally understand that these things happen, what I would have expected that they leave us with the pool in good shape so that we do not have to incur the additional cost of turning over the pool. In addition to that, they are expensive compared to the market and not a great service. They always left our pool with debris at the bottom. The business owner really does not show professionalism and just really difficult to work with. Adam (the primary technician) puts in the effort but not just not been able to get the pool to how most other pool servicing companies deliver results. Fallon (the business owner) just does not seem capable or responsible for dealing with customers. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend these folks any more and its a shame to see a small business like this go from a great reputation to abysmal customer service levels. read more

I am a tenant of a rental property Powerhouse Pool services. This rental property has a pool that Powerhouse "cleans" every Tuesday. I have photo, video and recorded conversations between Powerhouse pool and myself or my husband . All proving everything in this review. It's been 7 months since we've started receiving their services. Our pool is still covered in Algae. The company says it's ok to use the pool because chemicals levels are up to standard. Despite the algae rubbing off the walls after each clean. Upon a weekly visit one of the companies employees notified myself and my husband that the rental property owner did not want to pay to get the pool properly cleaned. When asked about it they denied this despite us having recorded proof. They had my previous review taken down saying " it was not a first hand experience ". We've experienced all of this as tenants of a rental property over the last 7 months. On top of them asking me to take my review down saying it's bad for their business. Called Amanda several weeks ago and explained that as a new pool owner I needed a dependable company to clean & maintain my pool. I said that I would love to support a local Georgetown business & She seemed willing to help me until it came time to actually service my pool. She no showed for the much anticipated first appointment on May 6, rescheduled for the next day May 7th but again was a no show, blamed it on her employee Benny having truck issues, then we rescheduled for Tuesday May 18, I said that I wanted to be present at the first appointment and due to my Work would only be home Tue & Thurs this week. Monday morning which was not the appointment date I received an email stating the gates were locked so Benny left, this is why I scheduled the first appointment on a day when I would be home to let them in. Why not save us all time by being honest with people that you don't want new customers? You misrepresented that your customers call you with questions anytime but you never once answered the phone on numerous occasions that I have called, calls always rolls to VM. Apparently you were more eager to be service oriented when you started your business 3-5 years ago & now that you have a good customer base you blow off new business opportunities, your loss! Fortunately there are many other local pool service companies that are happy to take new clients. read more

This was a very disappointing experience. My pool was turning green, because my previous service had not been out for 3 weeks. That was Herring pool services, and I will review later. The first 3 times Powerhouse came out, the pool was not brushed. The response was that it takes several weeks to get back to stable. I agree it does take a bit to get back to stable. I have managed my pools (3) for over 40 years. Every time I called, it takes time ? I decided to go for another week. After testing chems he recommends I drain 1/2 the pool and refill adding some chemicals. My cyuranic acid was at 100 and his equipment did not read over 100. I took a sample to Leslie's and the level was at 60, which is good. All the time Amanda kept assuring me the pool was looking better. On another item, they did clean the filter(DE), and now I have DE in my pool. Very disappointed. I would not use them again. read more

They couldnt keep my pool clean. I told them I hadn't cleaned it in months and they kept telling me it takes time BUT I told them I had already spent a month cleaning it. It needed a bit more work but it was in worse shape after a month of them servicing it. I have messed with pools for a long time so I knew something wasnt right. I went ahead and tested the water and there was ZERO cyanauric acid. No wonder it kept getting green so quickly. I see my bill and they charged me extra for additional chems which could have been avoided if the cyanauric acid levels were good. They dont even warn you they are adding more chems and it will cost extra. It took me 5 days to get it perfect after taking it back over. It just needed cyanauric acid but maybe they dont test everything? read more

I have been servicing my in-ground pool for 20 years. I had replaced pump motor twice. I decided to replace the entire Pump assemble and did not want to take on this project, due to cutting PVC pipes and making modifications to the pluming, so I hired Power House. There price was very reasonable and it only took them 1.5 hrs . I'm very pleased with the work . If I ever need to hire someone in the future for pool repair , I will hire PowerHouse Pools. Everyone at Powerhouse Pools has been professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with, and they did a wonderful job getting our swimming pool water chemically correct after our ugly pool was overhauled. Their email system lets you know when your pool service commences and ends, and you get a concise emailed report showing the results of every water test and which chemicals were used when the pool was serviced. Photos of your pool are also included in the report -- a nice touch! Both Ro and Amanda are great communicators and both have taken time to answer texts and phone calls after hours when we've had questions. Powerhouse also replaced the media in our pool pump -- a job we were dreading to do ourselves -- and we were very happy with the price and the result. Changed from a previous service company to Powerhouse in the last couple of months. The difference is dramatic. I have had 3 previous companies manage our pool, and Powerhouse by far has been the best. The first company was bought out, and the new company stopped servicing the area after about a month. They "sold" the route to another, and they never did a very good job, and really seemed to struggle with basic maintenance. This is our first pool, and everyone I spoke to had the same response "pool care in this area is spotty". Based on other reviews I gave Powerhouse a try, and they have been terrific. read more

I had my pool installed five months ago. I used the product recommended for cleaning the glass tile on the waterline and a raised beam with a water sheer. Seems I did not rinse the cleaner off well, so the coloring was removed in various areas. The pool project manager recommended not replacing any of the tile, said it would not go well. I did some internet research and found Powerhouse Pool Care & Repair (including some positive Goggle reviews). I explained the situation to Amanda and she said she had an excellent tile repairman for the job. I was hesitant, but it looks terrific!! Moe took his time, removed and replaced the tile I requested he take care of, and cleaned up quite well after completing the work. Moe told me he has seen that happen to tile from that cleaner before and to not use it again--even though that was the cleaner recommended by the project manager. After seeing the great work he has done, I expect I will request he come out again to replace a bit more of the damaged tile--I really am very impressed with his craftsmanship. Whenever I have pool repairs or issues, they will be my first call. read more

Powerhouse took over our pool service from another company so we weren't sure what to expect. They have done a great job and we couldn't be happier! We have a scheduled service day every week and they are there like clockwork. I love getting the emails giving me all the details of what they did along with pictures to show they have been there and the condition of the pool.
