I needed a wood stain, but tinted…read moreto a very specific paint color sold in their store because I was going to be using it for Anaglypta wallpaper (thick paper made out of wood pulp and cotton and pressed into an embossed pattern that is meant to be stained or painted... so, yeah, a pretty unusual request). After weeks of trying samples of paints and stains, we figured that stain showed the intricate designs on the paper best but we needed to color to match the paint on the non papered parts of the walls. (Victorian houses never have simple straightforward walls). So this was not something we can get just anywhere. He said it was possible, but only with a solid stain. I decided to give it a try, even though I really wanted a clear stain that would show the paper embossing best. When I went in a few hours later Fatu had already left for the day. The staff there looked at me blankly with "What is this lady talking about" expressions. They tried their best to answer my questions and made several calls to other stores, but tinting Wood stain to the color of one of their paints was not a typical request. So I understood that it was not their area of expertise. They told me Fatu was the man who knew all about the stains. And they were right! I decided to wait and come back another day when he would be there. When I described to him exactly what I was planning to do, he understood and figure out a way to tint the clear oil based stain I wanted instead of the solid we had discussed before by hand. He even tested the color on the sample piece I brought in before I paid, just to make sure it would look the way I needed it to. It worked perfectly. Fatu really knows what he is doing and is a great person to go to for that particular color.

On our first trip, it was busy and no one really seemed to want to help. Since it was our first time, we walked around for about 2 hours really trying to narrow down our decisions. If you were lucky enough to get a sales person (we were not) then maybe you were able to get more info. We wrote down our choices and left. I came back by myself during the week hoping it was not as crowded so that I could actually get someone to write me a quote. When I walked in the front door, there was a young women sitting at the first station. She looked up and said good morning. I said good morning and then I went to look at the bathroom vanities. I knew I still needed help, so I walked up to her to ask for help. She turned from her computer monitor, looked me in the eye and said "I am busy right now" and went back to work. What? OK, that was rude. When she saw I was still standing there, she looked to the gentleman to her right and said "Oscar, you are too busy to help her as well, correct?" Oscar looked at me and said I can help you in about 10 minutes. I wish I had gotten her name because she was incredibly rude and disrespectful. After a few minutes, Ocsar tried to help me. I could tell he was rushing and really didn't want to help me so I just gave him some of my choices so I could at least get a quote. I think if you are a contractor they treat you better than just a regular person coming in to look and get prices. My contractor was not with me, so maybe if I had brought him it would have been different. For me, customer service is terrible, pricing and choices are confusing if you are just trying to look around and overall this was a bad experience. I would not come back, especially if someone like the young lady talks to customers that way. We wound up going to another bathroom company to ultimately purchase our vanity, cabinets and counter top.

Second job was remodel of 3rd bedroom/home office. Complete retexturing, paint, baseboards, barn door installation, closet door replacement, and custom closet shelving. Job took a little longer than originally quoted due to winter weather/humidity causing texture to take longer than normal to dry, but communication was on point every day to let us what would be done and when.
