Sadly something has changed here. My wife took in to small pieces of glass in to get replacement pieces cut. One rectangle one triangle. She has had the same cuts made there before. They had the glass for two weeks then called and said they couldn't do it. My wife went to get the template pieces and said the man that does the glass was very rude and acted like it was a small job and couldn't be bothered. She came home very upset and not that it didn't get done but by the way she was treated by the glass guy there. What ever changed there I hope it goes back because it that attitude remains well be losing our neighborhood ACE store. read more

I visited Ace Hardware on a Wednesday around 5:30 PM to have a simple key made. Upon entering, two employees at the checkout counter acknowledged me and said they would call someone over to assist. After two calls and 20 minutes of waiting, I asked a passing employee if anyone was coming to help. She kindly stepped in and made the key for me--it took less than five minutes. While assisting me, she mentioned over her headset that I had been waiting for 20 minutes. At that point, an employee named Lisa walked by and remarked, "Oh well, we're extremely busy." I responded that I understood they were busy, but had I known it would take that long, I would've gone elsewhere. Lisa replied, "Then go somewhere else. It's your choice." I found that response incredibly unprofessional, especially coming from someone who, during my entire 30 minutes in the store, didn't assist a single customer. Instead, she walked the aisles giving directions to other employees. Her behavior, combined with the lack of urgency or customer care, made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. On a positive note, the cashier, Emily, was very kind and apologetic, clearly embarrassed by Lisa's rude behavior. I appreciate her professionalism. Ace Hardware, you can and should do better--especially when it comes to customer service. read more

Came here to save some money because I was mailed a $5 off coupon and tried buying a ace product and the girl working the register Angie I believe her name was gave me the most disgusted face like I was taking money out of her purse and be for scanning it to see if it worked she said I couldn't use it. Because the product was at its lowest price already and I said there's no restrictions on the coupon. She wouldn't even scan it and I said ok I'll take my money to true value where they honor their coupons and respect their customers. I usually have a good experience here but that has changed. I went in 5weeks ago with a small piece of glass from a china cabinet to have another piece made. I went the back a gentleman had me stand around until I asked if he was the person who deals with the glass. He said he was I gave it to him he then called someone and ordered the glass. He told me it would cost a little more because of the cut?? Anyways great! Wrong. Never heard from him again and I called weekly and was told he wasn't there. Or he leaves at 3:30. Ok fine I call again today am put on hold. Thee different people pick up I repeat the story Finally get me to the "man" he AGAIN asks me to repeat the story. May 4, 2025 - I went to Ace for a couple items. The plumbing department was great. The associate was very helpful. The paint department was entirely different. A man wearing glasses sat behind the counter, locked onto a computer monitor. I had to initiate conversation to get his attention. I asked for oil based paint. He pointed and said, "Over there." I eventually found it, but with no help from the employee. The last I saw, he was on the computer again. The slogan; "Ace Is The Place; Helpful?" Not this time. This guy wants a paycheck, not a job. For my kitchen remodel I purchased all my paint and some of my painting supplies here. I liked that the staff seemed more knowledgeable than what I experienced with Lowes staff...it once took me 30 minutes to get a sample at Lowes! WTH??? But at Ace I was able to find Benjamin Moore paint in all 3 colors I needed and it was mixed quickly and correctly. The paint itself was slightly pricey but I didn't have to run all over town trying to find what I wanted either. I wish they had a bigger selection of supplies (they don't carry multi packs of drop cloths) but I would definitely continue to come here to purchase my paint. read more

Prices and inventory are less than Home Depot or Lowe's, and Ace has bins to buy individual bolts, nuts, etc. The annoyance is the clerks want to help instead of simply telling you where something is located so you can figure out what you need. When clerks try to find things for me, I end up with the wrong product. I've seen clerks try to switch-and-bait other customers, so it's not just my ambivalence. The clerks don't know what you need, only you do, and each screw, bolt, nut, nail, bit, etc., must be precise. It's so frustrating to end up with wrong parts. read more

This review is for the handyman services. 2 stars because Mark worked hard to get someone out to build these floating shelves. Communication was great up until I had a complaint. I wanted these shelves to be spaced out evenly. I gave the contractor the measurements. As he is showing me his finished work I immediately notice top 2 shelves are way off. We measure and both are different measurements. Should be 16 in. One was 13 one was 15. Contractor removes both shelves. Puts them back up and now the bottom shelf is off by more than 2 inches. Fact, If someone walks in they will not notice unless I point it out. Also a fact, I notice and it bothers me. If I did this on my own ok. But I hired someone and paid $500 because I wanted it done right. It's sloppy. It's unfinished. The drill holes, the wood dust I had to clean up, the red markings and 1 uneven shelf. Top is 15 1/2 bottom is 17 1/2. Measurements were supposed to be 16. My husband went to go talk to Mark. He said it's no big deal. Zero customer service. Zero options presented. I've had nothing but bad luck trying to find someone to complete projects in my home. Everything is half a"". I would not recommend requesting any work in your home from this handyman service unless you have time to fix the professionals unfinished shotty work. read more

They replaced wheels on a screen door and re screened it. The Guy in this department had it done in an hour. They gave us the name of a Guy who did large item pick up. This is my first Yelp review, I have obviously had numerous great and not so great experiences at restaurants, stores, and other businesses over the years and of course I use Yelp all the time, however my experience today at Ace made me want to write a review. There was nothing over the top - However in comparison to shopping at Home Depot and Lowes (where I feel like employees avoid eye contact to avoid helping) this was so much better. I received help from the paint dept and the man who helped me was knowledgable and super efficient! I walked over to make a key while waiting for my paint and the woman who helped me there was quick, friendly, and again super efficient. First off I've been a client of ace for a long time i have never had issues with any of their Franchises. But today i went and purchased a few items this morning went to return the UNUSED in pristine condition the owners son began by yelling at me that he wouldn't return my "tool" it was a ladder completely in its original packaging i explained to him how we purchased a few items and bought this in case we needed it. He continued to yell at me that he wouldn't do it he just wouldn't do it. I'm very sympathetic to businesses as i am a business owner but the owners son took it upon himself to continue to yell at me in-front of the rest of the customers. I went shopping at Ace Hardware on Benjamin Holt Dr on Fri. Nov. 25, 2022. What started out as a response to a recent ad, ended with the Owner of the store, Mr Ivary, claiming he f***** up. He even asked me "are you really gonna do this to me?", as if he was the victim. When he refused to sell me a priced item for the price displayed saying it was an overlook I thought of how can it be that an independent store can be so defiant as to cause a scene, when there are much bigger chain hardware stores nearby. I shop there occassionally as I live nearby, and because of the ad they send out periodically. In the end he refused to Honor an Ad discount on a displayed priced item.
