Very dirty firewood and poor quality. Ordered firewood and they said I will get call when they leave the yard. Didnt call and it arrived a day late. No big deal. Firewood arrived and just about all of the firewood looks like it was drug through a dirt pile. There is a lot of rotted and insect ate pieces. In the pics you can see how my previous suppliers firewood compares to this batch of dirty firewood. Didn't go with previous supplier due to them going out of business. Bummed! read more

Butchers perfectly healthy trees. Do NOT hire! They were hired by the City of Ann Arbor. Trees that were not damaged or by wires were carved out right before blooming leaving the lowest branches left looking weak and drooping when it rains due to removing supportive branches. Had tree removed february 2022, all interactions were pleasant with a reasonable quote for getting 2 trees remove. Work was done on schedule as agreed to to a level of quality that was reasonable to expect. I went to level my backyard later in the year in September and we had noticed a lot of the root system had not been grounded, I looked like they got most of it the day of but they also ran out of day light so they told me to call them back out if I saw they missed anything. I figured 6 months later it would be a struggle but it was pretty painless to get them to come back out and hit spots we noticed as we were moving dirt around the backyard. This company did such a good job of cutting down for very large trees. They were professional very nice guys. They clean up everything there wasn't one branch left. "PPM" stands for Poor Personality Man, and that is the owner Brian Dobbs. Brian is rude, careless and irresponsible. He misbehaves and talks down with his customers. He thinks he is more important and better than his customers. Brian never returned my phone calls for urgent landscaping projects. At the peak of landscaping season, when I call him on his cell phone, I get bizzarre responses such as "I am watching a movie in the movie theater!" Brian's PPM crew is friendly, skilled and competent. They do a very good job at grass cutting, tree pruning/removal and other landscaping projects. Brian knows what he is doing as well, however he is not able to cope with demanding nature of landscaping business. Brian completely ignored our repeated calls for tree service in 2019. I had PPM providing loan services for 7 years but in the end, it was the poor personality man Brian who made me discontinue. read more

I had a 14 ft junk tree along the blvd in front of my home that just had to go. I filled out a request for service on the website and 3 hours later Brian showed up at my front door. The estimate for removal, including the invasive roots and having the stump ground was reasonable. 3 days later I came home from work and it was gone. Couldn't be happier. We had 3 very large trees hanging over our house and the largest tree was literally about 10 feet from our house. After obtaining about 8 quotes from different companies, we went with PPM based on price because, no lie, their quote was half the price of almost everyone else! I received a certificate of insurance from Patti in PPM's office, called the agent and confirmed that coverage was still in place, and PPM was out the next day to remove our trees! No problems with scheduling at all, and the crew was polite and left our yard as clean as can be expected after grinding down 3 large stumps. Highly, highly highly recommend PPM! PPM did an excellent job trimming my 7 maple trees and my 1 birch tree. Brian gave us a great quote and his crew was extremely professional. I called to schedule an appointment and they came out the next day. When they were done they made sure all of the branches were cleaned up and they blew all of the sawdust off of the driveway that came off of the chipper. I would definitely recommend using them when in the market for tree trimming services. read more

Set up to have estimate with Brian. He came out, and gave estimate. Three days later I gave go ahead. He said he could do job next day. Then in the middle of the next day he called to say they would have to reschedule for the next week. He never called nor returned my messages to get work done. From the way that they handle things, I think that they under bid the job. Then they show up to do the work and realize that they didn't price it right. At this point they just walk away without any more follow up. Sloppy way to do business. I have other trees I need to have removed at other properties- won't be with these guys. For sure- don't give these guys any money before the job is complete. read more

First of all, I cannot comment on the quality of the actual landscaping, as no one seemed to want to help us! I called for an estimate over a month ago and never heard back. Called back a second time and someone came out to give us what I thought was a fair price. I called back a few days later to book a time and again, I left a message and didn't receive a call. I called one last time and I was scheduled for service today. No one came out and no one called me, so I am officially done with PPM. read more

I tried communicating with the company after an estimate was done for a The house is in Westland. The job consisted of many weed trees close to the ground. One small tree in the front yard was estimated at $350 which is way out of range compared to all otner companies.  The total estimate was.$1350. No tree climbing would have been necessary.  I countered the estimate with a fair price of $1150. I was played around with for a week just to get a simple yes or no answer. I was just completely blown off. My only conclusion is that this company doesn't truly want to deal with homes in the westland , Garden City, Redford area etc... and would like to keep their business services in the west Bloomfield, Farmington hills homes.  Completely disrespectful after being told I'd get a call and didn't even get a yes or no. Absolutely no excuse for complete unprofessionalism.  If you live outside the "Bloomfield" homes outside the "money" areas I would suggest absolutely going with someone else. They don't really want that business and your wasting your time. Seriously.  Your company wants to jack me after how polite I was with you then jack you. We had Brian's company clear trees at our house. Prior to the job, we asked if we could keep our logs since we heat another home with it and he said no - all goes into the chipper, which is fine if that is how it is. Just before the job, Brian called asking to change the service date to accomodate another job he'd like to take - we said fine - people need to make a living. They damaged a corner of the home, which per his contract, he is responsible for repairing non-moveable structures. His workers also left trees along the fence, which Brian admitted were part of the contract. And his workers gave away some wood to neighbors who asked for some - wood we could not have??? Brian returned to view our complaints the and admitted to the problems and even said he'd bring a load of wood back to us to make up for our wood given away. Despite repeated calls, we have not seen him since. This is not a guy to do business with. If you read this Brian, you are welcome to make good on your promises or you can return $200.00 to us - I had the trees you left behind estimated at $150 by another tree service, and the repair to the side of the house was estimated at $45 by a handyman. Oh, we fixed the dryer vent ourselves at a cost of $4.00. Brian, if you make good on your promises we will gladly take this post down. Consumers - if you are reading this post, know that Brian did not cure this situation. read more

DO NOT USE PPM! They came to my house and gave me a quote that was fair. Then called me a few days later to let me know that they were in the area and could do the job that day. I mentioned that I had a competitors quote and Brian told me he could match it since he had the crew in the area. I told them to come on over. His crew showed up about when I expected, took a look at the job at hand, and proceeded to sit and stare at my trees for 30 minutes. Then, they all got back in their trucks and left. No one said a word to me, didn't tell me they were leaving, just vanished. I called Brian and left a voicemail and then he called me back and said that the job was too big to complete that evening. Fair enough, it was late, I get that. Then he proceeded to tell me that he could schedule them to come back another day, but that it would be $150 more than what he agreed to while his crew was "in the area". Not exactly what I would call a good company. They can't keep their word! read more

We had Brian's company remove trees our yard and in the process there was some minor damage to the shingles on our garage. Brain came out and agreed to have one of his crew who was a roofer repair the damage. After many calls to his office and many promises that they would send someone out the problem has not been fixed. I am convinced at the point that they have no intention of fixing the problem. read more

Did some work a couple of years ago but trimmed the wrong tree. I stupidly paid cash for the work with the understanding they would come back and do the job right. I tried a few times to make an appointment but they didn't seem interested in coming out and trimming the correct branch.One excuse after another. Never use this company. read more
