I myself practiced with Therese, she was extremely helpful and very safe when it came to all my practices behind the wheel.

I was contacted by a lady name Yessenea, out of a different safety first driving school. She was…read morekind on the phone to me and she cares about the business and the reviews, sadly I don't think the Thousand Oaks branch does. Yessenea, offered to see what she can do about the review although, she told me that Gary and Tosh are gentleman and yeah, that might be her experience, but let's not discount ours. I was asked to clean up this review, and offered a refund. first, she was offering me the 20 minutes that was owed to me then she offered me an hour and then she said she would just refund me whatever I had spent with them. But let's go onto the review, that has now been modified. This instructor/Manager Tosh or Tosch. Not sure how to spell his name. He came and picked up my daughter who is only 15. She's a very sweet innocent girl who has been homeschooled and I have done everything | can to shelter and protect her as a mother. He had her drive around the streets of Thousand Oaks, Tosh had her drive for probably an hour, and then told her to pull into a CVS parking lot in Thousand Oaks. He told her his button is missing from his pants and then he lifted his shirt and showed her. He pointed to the area in question. THIS COMPANY THREATEN TO SUE ME CAUSE THEY DIDNT LIKE ME SAYING THE AREA IN QUESTION WITH SOME DETAILS. SO THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN MODIFIED. SO I TOOK DOWN SOME OF THE DETAILS OFF. The area of his pants that the pointed to ammunition no child should be looking at because underneath those jeans in that body area are private parts. Are unil freakin kidding me? YOU WORK WITH MINORS AND THIS IS NOT OK. MAYBE I SHOULD GET AN ATTORNEY AND GO AFTER YOU AMIR MY DAUGHTER IS DISTRAUGHT OVER THIS. NOW SHE FEELS AFRAID TO GO IN THE CAR WITH ANOTHER MALE DRIVER AT HER NEXT DRIVING SCHOOL. THEY SAID THEY WOULD REFUND THE MONEY BUT THEY ONLY REFUNDED ONE LESSON THAT WAS USED. ONE LESSON THAT WASNT USED. AND ONE LESSON WAS USED THAT WAS PAID FOR AND NOT REFUNDED AS PROMISED. Any parent would be very upset and write a review like this. This is our personal experience and we have a right to post it here on yelp. If you don't like that it is negative then don't do things like this.

I would certainly rate the salon 1 star if I could. I'm autistic. I went in to their salon services get a short, basic haircut. The entire time I was bullied by my barber during the haircut. There were many things he did to me and said to intentionally try to make a joke out of me. Other students eventually started gathering around and ridiculing me and snickering. There was absolutely no supervision. I know I'm an easy target because I'm autistic, but that does not excuse this whatsoever. It is not okay to make fun of disabled people and it's not okay that this behavior wasn't prevented by the teachers. The haircut itself was awful and took a while to grow out long enough to touch up. Very choppily cut and poorly done. But I don't mind because it's a school and they need experience. My mom was coming over from the front to give him a tip, not knowing what had happened, but even she saw that people were just surrounding me and laughing at me, so she turned right back around. My mom had called the place after. The instructor was kind and offered a free, supervised touch up. This is good to note. I didn't accept it because I already go through enough of these experiences in my life because some people like to use an autistic person (or just weaker targets in general such as the elderly, the homeless, etc.) as an excuse to be cruel, I don't need to risk going back to a place that treated me like that. But she listened and seemed to care, so that's what matters. I had a meltdown as soon as we got back in the car to go home and it lasted for hours. I shouldn't have to be judged and bullied for being quiet and having difficulty socializing. Those were things outside of my control because I'm disabled. They appeared to be around my same age of 18, so immaturity is certainly inevitable in a classroom, but this was just cruel in my opinion. You have to sit down for several minutes just defenselessly being subjected to ridicule for things outside of your control. There absolutely should've been supervision. I'm not going to place blame on the instructors and supervisors because they weren't the ones who bullied me, but this sort of thing shouldn't even be able to happen. Things may have changed in the year since I've been and I sure hope they have. Supervision may have tightened. Obviously, a single instance does not define the entirety of the salon. If you're autistic or disabled in any other way, you're already taking risks wherever you go. It's your choice to make and things could be good now. I just wanted to document my experience so it doesn't get brushed under the rug. If you read my review and experience, thank you. I wasn't able to advocate for myself in the moment because I was overwhelmed. It was hard to speak. But at least I have the ability to retroactively articulate. Not all autistic people do. And those are the stories that you don't hear about because not all of us can speak for ourselves, so that is why I'm sharing this experience because I am able to in place where others may have not been able to.
