I've been shooting with these guys for a few years now. Excellent bunch of folks. They hold a match on the first Sunday of each month.

This is a great outdoor range for both new and experienced shooters…read more If you're looking to get a private shooting bay, it's definitely worth lining up before opening. It fills up quickly. If you're not in a rush, showing up after lunchtime can help you avoid the early wait, but keep in mind, on busy days you might miss out on getting a bay altogether. What really stands out is the staff. They're extremely helpful, friendly, and make the experience comfortable whether you're a beginner or more advanced. One thing to note, they don't offer rentals, so make sure to bring your own firearms. Overall, a solid spot with a great environment. Just plan your timing right and come prepared.

Never had an issue with the cashiers, sad to hear other people's experiences with them. The area is nice and spacious which is why I liked going here, you get your own bay and usually nobody bothers you. For 2 hours you'll pay 32 buck with cash and 37 with card. The wait can be brutal so get there early in the morning. There was a group of 4 of us this one time. The 2 older Range Officers, a middle aged Asian American guy and an old geezer probably in his 60s, they kept annoying us and tried multiple times flirting with our chick friend in the group. The chick friend told me she's goin' to stick next to me, so the Range Officers would stop interacting with her. Never had the Range Officers give my group this much attention. Long story short that broke the camel's back for me. I was at the 50 yard bay shooting a pistol with one hand, at a steel target provided by the range. Shot one handed here before with no issues. A younger Range Officer yelled at me and said what I was doing. I calmly replied back with no demeanor or with a rude attitude. I guess he didn't like me replying back to him when I answered his questions, then the middle aged Asian American Range Officer quickly comes up to talk to me. I replied calmly to him too, I apologized to deescalate the situation and he still kept being a fat d*ckhead. Then the old geezer Range Officer in his 60s who talks like he has sh*t stuck up his ass, I think he's the master of them, comes up to the bay and talks to me. He also didn't like it when I calmly replied back, it made him even more mad. If ya have a tough skin you'll be fine. The Range Officers are rude, except for one. Don't talk back to the Range Officers, they don't like it haha. Maybe you'll have a better experience here than I have. Won't be coming back here sadly.

After finishing the rounds I brought, I noticed my groupings were down and to the left. Since I had just installed a new optic, I thought it might not be zeroed correctly. On my way out, I decided to ask for some advice. Mike was extremely kind and took the time to ask a few questions to understand the issue. He then gave me about 36 rounds, told me to grab a new target, and said he'd meet me in a lane. Long story short, he spent 10-15 minutes helping to figure out the problem and got me shooting in the right direction ;) at no cost. I didn't expect that at all and couldn't be more grateful for his time. I also met Steven, the owner, who was just as friendly and took time to answer my questions about purchasing specific firearms. At no point did I feel like a burden. Thanks again for your time, I'll definitely be back, even with a 30-40 minute commute. It's worth it.

But I had a good experience at this range. The staff seemed welcoming and no one was unusually awkward nor starred at me. They were polite and professional all the way. I didn't even find many of the customers giving me more than a cursory look. The prices were also very fair and while it was quite busy, the wait wasn't too bad. Good selection of targets too!

The staff were welcoming and friendly. It sounded like they made special accommodations for myself and some other shooters, by opening up the "tactical" range, since there were no members shooting at that time. That was awesome, because it got me on the range sooner. I also brought with me a new firearm - Canik Mete MC9LS with a new optic. I forgot my regular range bag with my tools; however, the range staff allowed me to use one of their tools to adjust my new optic. I don't know how the targets move on the regular range, but on the tactical range, you can push buttons to automatically set the targets at a specified distance, move the targets manually back and forth, and automatically have the target return. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. $20 per lane and $0.50 targets - WAAAAAY better than prices in the Bay Area. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely become a member. (I overheard one of the staff members informing another customer of the benefits and price.). Top Notch outfit in my opinion.

I attended their intro to handguns class, covering the basics of safety and proper form, and getting in some introductory shooting experience. John, our instructor, was very engaging and great at commanding attention when needed and building up the class's confidence. Afterward, I took them up on their 'newbie' offer of free range time and rental after class. Kevin signed me up for a lane, let me rent a couple of handgun models I researched previously, and critiqued my targets, giving some general feedback and advice. He also pointed me toward a couple other models that are known to be more friendly to left-handed shooters that I can test out in the future. Great place; a little on the older and smaller sides, but staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. I get the feeling that as I 'shop around' for my go-to range there's a strong chance I will gravitate back here, since these guys are passionate about what they do, and seem to want to inspire that passion in others. Definitely will make it a point to stop by again.

Dave, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to actually help you without any pressure or attitude. If you've ever been to other firearm stores, you probably know what I mean. Many places can come off like they have a superiority complex, like you're supposed to already know everything. That's not the case here at all. At ShootSoCal, you can ask any question and they'll walk you through it without making you feel uncomfortable. That alone goes a long way and keeps me coming back. I've purchased items from them, had builds done and even had custom work completed and every single time the result has been the same: top-tier service and excellent results. They're consistent, professional, and genuinely care about their customers. I recommend them to everyone I know. If you're looking for a place that treats you right and delivers quality work, this is it.

Small shop, but good selection of equipment, from AR parts to carry bags, oil/maintenance kits etc. Also, staff gave me some practical advice about anodizing the steel barrel I had purchased (for getting a different color on it), getting a gun locker and outdoor ranges within a 45 minute drive. Lastly, I was offered assistance to assemble my firearm, but didn't need it since I'd been studying how to do that while waiting to take delivery. Bottomline: I'd use ShootSoCal as an FFL again.
