I cancelled my membership in September of 2022 signed stating that I was responsible to pay until…read moreend of October of 2022. I had switched bank accounts and I didn't want shapes to have any access to my new account so I paid by debit for the month of October. Suddenly they start harassing me in January of 2023 saying I owe for the months of October, November, and December of 2022 and including January of 2023. I explain I cancelled paid until October of 2022 and lo and behold they "can't find" paperwork saying I cancelled. I sent a copy of my bank statement showing the payment made to shapes in September for the month of October. Told me they didn't have record of any payments or cancellations. They said I owed 339.00 from October 2022 to January 2023. My payments were 18.05 biweekly. Doing rough math that does not equate to 339.00. After arguing back and forth over email, I finally got a statement. Upon looking at my statement two things stood out. The payment I made in September of 2022 was not on the statement and they still tried to debit my old bank account several several times until October 31, 2022. That is the date everything stopped on my statement. I incurred over 100 in nsf charges. They were trying every week for the month of October. Yet they claim I owed until January of 2023. After arguing for several months I heard nothing. Fast forward, I checked my credit report because I wanted to see what my credit score was before buying a house. Well my credit scores tanked because shapes sent the 339.00 to collections. Yet the collection company they use never once tried to contact me. After arguing with another woman I just paid the 339 to have it show as paid on my credit report. I asked how to pay it and they gave me an email address of fitness@shapes.ca. So I sent my money but I wasn't done. My cousin is a lawyer and because I paid shapes directly to clear that amount off, they have the choice to take it back from the collection agency and it will be removed from my report. If I paid the collection agency it would remain on my report but showing as paid. I emailed Sofia and asked her to take it back from the collection agency as I paid them directly and I never received a response. Once they get "their" money they are crickets. I am now in the process of taking Shapes to small claims court to recoup all the money I paid to them. The biggest mistake Sofia did was send me a statement and shows dates don't go past October 31 2022, not until January of 2023. See ya in court Shapes!!!

Will forever leave a bad impression on my mind…read more I have been working out for over 10 years, I have been to many different gyms and this has by far been the worst service/ facility I have used. Shapes do not care about their members, they care about money. I have witnessed even front desk staff being treated poorly. I joined the gym a couple of months before the renovation on a 1-year contract. After the renovation was complete, I was unsatisfied with the new layout. It was no longer the facility I had previously joined. They informed me I would still have to pay out the entirety of my contract which was basically 8 or 9 months. During this last quarantine, I had about 1 week left from when I had cancelled my membership. Instead of waiting until the gyms were re-opened so I could finish out my term, they terminated my membership and charged fees well into December after gyms had been closed. Recently I had messaged the facility asking for some basic information, like sq. ft of the floor plan so I could use their facility for an accessibility project for my degree. I chose this facility because I had been there before, and it would limit my contact with other facilities and people and I had knowledge of the layout. My email was followed up with an email explaining they were much too busy to give me any basic information about the facility, about the length of writing it would have taken to type the square feet of the facility. This gym has time and time again failed to meet any kind of customer service standard other than some of the very kind front desk employees and cleaning staff. I will never recommend anyone to go here, if you would like group fitness classes go to Altea, or Goodlife, or support local.

I was in Winnipeg for less than 24 hours for a work trip, and managed to squeeze in yoga practice. I was so lucky to have a class with the owner, Todd, who was an amazing teacher. The class was challenging but fun and Todd had so many great insights into the practice, but at the same time kept things light. The studio itself was seriously the poshest Bikram studio I've ever been to, but not at all in a pretentious way! They seriously have the most luxurious change room I have ever experienced in a Bikram studio. I am trying to find an excuse to get back to Winnipeg, just so I can practice yoga here again!

Since going to studio 26 in September, my recovery has been incredible. Hot yoga, in addition to other rehab ( physio, massage, etc) helps to relieve my pain and increase flexibility. It is also a place of community with Todd and other caring instructors. Todd's classes feel like master classes where he gives individual instructions and corrections. He is also hilarious! I also love the clean studio and change rooms. I highly recommend studio 26!

Super duper awesome…read more By far the best yoga studio in the city, in my opinion. I love the moksha style yoga, and they offer a variety of classes. One word to describe Moksha: Community. The students, teachers, staff, volunteers are a great group of people. It's impossible to walk in and not feel welcome, unless you're some sort of a jerk or something.
