A member of our group is a wheelchair user, and the staff was accommodating us by reserving a low top table for accessibility. We were told the owners received several complaints - I assume because we usually did well - that this was unfair and that if we want a table we must come early. A disabled person should not have to show up early to get an accessible table. They offered to pull out a folding table if there are no accessible tables available, which would only single out our friend even more. Just because they fly a Pride flag does not mean this place is inclusive. That is performative allyship. If they were truly equitable and inclusive, they would have told those who complained that they were accommodating a wheelchair user. Period.
