After…read moreliterally driving all night into La Crosse for a family medical emergency, we were greeted by Keisha at the front desk who was understanding and reserved for us the perfect room. What we though would be a few days trip ended up being a month-long roller coaster ride and through it all, the Grand Stay was incredibly accommodating. My brother, sister and I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite, which is spacious, comfortable and well-appointed and the kitchen was most helpful. Taylor & cleaning crew swapped out towels and took out trash when needed, Tracy, Tiffany & Monica handled last minute revision updates without hesitation, and Anthony kept us laughing at breakfast. When running into Justin (maintenance), he was always sure to ask if everything is ok. The 3 of us would begin our day very early in the morning in the back of the breakfast area getting work done on our computers, then upon return, very late into the night, in our unofficial office and Gina always made sure we had fresh hot water for our tea. The hotel is located on the beautiful Mississippi River and is within walking distance of the historic downtown area. Our room was clean, the breakfast hot and the lobby/community areas relaxing. Oh - and thank goodness for on-site guest laundry! The crew at the Grand Stay all worked together to make a difficult time as easy on us as they possibly could, and I will even go as far as to say we made friends during our month together. Sincerely, the "414 Team"

Several months have passed since we stayed at Cozy Cottages, but I feel I must write this review…read more We wanted something different for our stay in Wisconsin this time, so checked out cabins and came upon Cozy Corner Cottages in our search. What a great place to stay. Stayed in cabin 3, right in the middle of the cottages. A beautiful, tall tree gave us shade and such beauty.....we're from AZ and tall trees are somewhat uncommon. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. W bought food for the time there, but everything else was supplied. We had a family gathering there the Sunday before departure and everything was furnished to accommodate the crowd, even a crock pot for my bean and hamburger dish. Fishing was something my husband wanted to do, and he did with the time he had. There are several fishing spots nearby. He was happy to have caught a few fish. In addition, the staff was amazing to work with. Everyone was accommodating, helpful, and kind. We have a wonderful place to stay from now on.....no more cookie-cutter hotels for us!

I was looking for a place to stay somewhere between Minnesota (our flight destination) and where my…read moredad lives in Southern Wisconsin for a side trip during our visit. I picked a lake on the map that looked to be about halfway and then relied on google to find me a place that was near the lake. Cozy Corner Cottages popped up. I reviewed their website and it seemed to be okay but I found very little in the form of actual guest feedback so I really wasn't sure what to expect and had set my mind to expect very little. We were very pleasantly surprised. When we drove up to the property it was nice to see that it was very clean and well-maintained. The cottages were really cute and each cottage had it's own little yard that included a firepit, a grill and a picnic table. The interior of the cottage was much more roomy than I expected. It was clean, well-stocked, nicely furnished and very comfortable. There was even a television with quite a few channel choices. The kitchen has a toaster, toaster oven, refrigerator, and two-burner stove with lots of cooking equipment. The bonus for this family is the well-maintained pool that is directly in front of the cabin. Our kids were in paradise the entire three day stay with the pool to themselves (highly likely with only five cabins). The pool was warm and had an abundance of great comfortable seating, umbrellas and fun pool floaties, rafts and toys. There is also a small playground right next to the pool. When we arrived there was nobody in the office but they left the cabin open and I checked-in later in the day. Melissa is an amazing host. She offered us all kinds of information on what to do and checked-in with us when she would see us out and about to make sure things were going well. The grounds as mentioned are very clean and well-maintained and the little lagoon near the property leading into the lake (although quite gnarly and not swimmable) was set up beautifully and made for a very relaxing place to sit. We took one of the boats out and although it is a bit of a trek (or paddle) to get to the lake it's doable and was a nice way to spend an afternoon. We spent a couple of nights roasting marshmallows and playing with their lawn games which you can borrow and set up near your cottage (ladder ball, cornhole, etc.) Although there were others in the four adjacent cabins we truly felt like we were alone and in our own little world. The place is relaxing, hospitable and very much like a home away from home. Highly recommend.

I was a little nervous but based on the research I did online the place seems to be universally loved. Let me start out by saying that every expectation I had was exceeded. We stayed in the Library Room and it had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The owners are very nice and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. All amenities were provided and I didn't feel like I was in need of anything. My only nitpick was that the wireless internet was very slow and cell phone reception was not good. But I was on vacation to get away from city life, so I can't really say this was a bad thing at all. I was a bit concerned that there would be large spiders or roaches or something, but we did not see any bugs whatsoever in the room, everything was as clean as could be. The house is charming and immaculate. My other concern going in was that there is a biker bar right across the street. Luckily every single person in this area of Wisconsin acts civilized and polite so that turned out to be a non-issue. If I ever find myself in the Westby/La Crosse area again, I will 100% be returning to Westby House Inn. If you're on the fence about this place, I say go ahead and do it. You will not be disappointed.
