I learned about Prance Around Pet Service through a neighborhood group Facebook post. I originally hired them for dog walking services while I was on a 7-day vacation. My initial call was returned quickly, and Joelyne was friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about meeting my dog. She was timely in sending the onboarding paperwork, and completing the set-up was easy. She set up a Zoom call (since my request for service was only 2 days away), and "met" me and my dog virtually. It was perfect. Every day while I was away, one of Prance Around's team members showed up during my specified window and walked my dog for 45 minutes. I received a custom walk report via email every day following the walk, and it usually included pictures. I LOVE that feature! While on vacation, a family member became critically ill and required hospitalization immediately upon our return to the US. I was able to email Prance Around and extend service for an additional week without any problems. Our service commitment ended, and only a few short days later, my family member was back in the hospital. With only a day's notice, I was able to contact Prance Around and get my dog back on their schedule. No hassles. No problems. Joelyne and her crew are incredibly kind, generous, and empathetic. It has been such a relief to know that I can call on them to take care of my girl and not have any worries. We had lost our friend's ability to come live at our house while we were away, and were looking to board our rescue Lab, Thomas, when I used Yelp and came across Prance Around. The idea of leaving your pet in their natural environment and routines, rather than putting them in to a very different social setting in a boarding establishment intrigued us. As you all probably do, the high Yelp star rating catches the eye, but the number of ratings to us, as well as the text, reallly tells the story. This is true of Prance Around. The mandatory pre-engagement interview is great- Joelyne came by, was very very polite and was especially gracious as we went through a couple of minor catastrophes preparing for our 5 day vacation sans our used dog. What I liked? She took down VERY careful notes on how much to feed, brand, where the items are located, what are the owner's rules on "operating" their pets, (where we walk him, how far, what toys he's allowed to tug on, etc). The occasional, unexpected text pic of your fur son or daughter having a grand time is really a great personal touch- I'd encourage you to allow them to send you that pic, as it eases your mind when you're out of town. As is often the case when you don't have firm travel plans, Prance Around has been flexible on your arrival and departure dates; I've had to shift my return date twice, and they replied with "no problem!". The house just as we left it, the mail picked up, the dog amazingly happy AND settled when we come home. (It's nice when your dog misses you while you're gone, but it's even better if he's not crazy happy, because then you wonder if he's been depressed while you're gone). We have always opted for 3 visits a day- that costs 50% more, but it's kept our son happy as all get out, as he's gotten more walks than when we were home! I'm kind of disappointed that we don't travel more, because Prance Around is great! We have a unique situation with our cats and wanted to make sure they were well taken care of when we came across Prance Around. Dealing with them was fantastic! They had no problem coming out during Thanksgiving when we were gone. The rates are reasonable and our cats were obviously well taken care of (and groomed!). I really wish I was able to leave a more detailed review pertaining to the services being offered at Prance Around. I reached out regarding a one walk per day M-F for my dog while I was busy with meetings during that time. The initial meeting went well and I was greeted with professionalism. On the day of my dogs scheduled walk, I accidentally did not answer the phone by the walker as I was in the bathroom. Given that Im a few months pregnant I tend to use the bathroom often. While I understand this is a business and time is money. I really wish I would have been given another opportunity to use these services as I see there are many 5 star reviews. I was called by the owner stating that my apartment building is too difficult to access and I was unfit as a client. This was the very FIRST day of services. I would have completely understood if this happened more than once with me and was an ongoing issue. I was also told that there had been other clients in my complex which is one of the reasons I decided to use their services. I was also told about other building access issues and I figured since I am home it wouldn't be an issue. Apparently it was. I wish this was taken into consideration before they agreed to have me as a client and I wouldn't have wasted my time filling out paperwork. Given that life happens, I am curious to know how other scheduling issues are handled if after one mishap you are denied as a client. Again, it was a complete accident thad I missed the dog walkers call and I accept full responsibility for that. I just wish I would've been given another opportunity so that I would be able to leave a better review. My husband and I have used the dog walking services here for 5 months. Our dog walker KC, is wonderful! Willa just loves her, and we certainly appreciated all the advice and notes that KC has left us as our 14 week old, 35 pound GSD has grown into a 7 month old 62 lb teen-pup. The prices here are very fair, and the customer service is unbeatable. We leave them with two keys for our home, and communicate all visits (including cancellations) through email. The nice thing about their customer service is how easy it is to schedule last minute walks, or cancel a walk on days when we are snowed in (my god we had a lot this year!). They charge an extra 10 dollars on holidays, and when schools in the county are closed, we know services are cancelled. They are very easy to work with, and super friendly and professional. I cannot recommend this company enough for your four-footed family members. read more

One of our cats, Alec Baldwin, required medicine everyday and Patricia did not miss a dose. The cats litter boxes and bathroom was spotless when we came home. I can't imagine how anyone could do a better job of pet sitting. I've been using Prance Around Pet Services for a few months now. I sometimes have to work long hours, but it makes me feel so much better to know that my pup is being taken care of by such a great staff of people. Cricket, my sheltie, is a little shy around new people at first, and everyone went above and beyond to make sure that she was comfortable. I even had a nice 30 minute meet and greet with my walker, Victoria. I got photos, daily notes, and even a video and I could really tell that my girl was having a great time. Many times my schedule changed last minute, and they were very easy to work with, accommodating me every time. My wife and I were lucky enough to find Prance Around a couple years ago. We had them walk our two pups regularly during the week, and occasionally to stay overnight with the dogs when we went on overnights on the weekend. They were always so fantastic!! So now that our beloved dog has almost completely recovered, I feel it's time for you to be informed. We had hired Prance Around to stay with our dog while we traveled internationally probably 4 times. While things were sometimes amiss.....not following very specific instructions to contact me on certain dates via email or breaking a glass in our home, we still believed that our dog was in good care. Our last trip, however, was nothing further from the truth. My dog has age related eye issues which requires him to have several eye drops a day. Joelyne had assured me that they were "very experienced in administering drops" and there would be no problems. During our trip, Joelyne sent me emails saying how well he was doing and that "he couldn't wait for us to return" including the day we departed. When we got home, nothing was further from the truth. We found our dog lethargic in his bed with his eyes swollen shut. I texted her to say what and when did this happen. She didn't know and contacted Justin who said he was fine two hours before we got home. We rushed him to the eye specialist who diagnosed him with an "infected melting ulcer" due to some type of trauma. He was hours away from losing his eye! This trauma had occurred many days before we got home. For 4 days around the clock, he was given drops every two hours to try to save his eye which we finally did after months of meds. Now accidents happen, but I left every emergency number humanly possible in case of an accident not to mention I was accessible by text. Justin, who stayed with our dog, should have immediately addressed his injury instead of her unknowingly texting me he was fine and leaving me a generic welcome home letter that made no mention of this. By the way, the letter and texts you receive comes from her who does the communicating with the client and not the actual sitter so she is relying on information given to her! When I emailed her to say I would be picking up my keys, she called me and became very belligerent on the phone and then hung up on me. FYI. read more

Prance Around cared for my cat for 10 days while we were out of the country. This particular business does not allow direct interaction between client and sitter, but requires contact to go through the owner, Joelyne King. This disturbed me somewhat when we signed the contract, but Joelyne assured us that she would always answer her cell phone or text back. While we did get photos our our pet during the trip and he was fed and his litterbox was cleaned, I texted her on the last day b/c I couldn't remember if the sitter was supposed to stop by that day or not. She did not respond, so later that evening I sent another text asking her to call me the next day, which she did. In an email I critiqued the service and was unhappy with the fact that the sitter did not clean up the spilled food under my cat's dish, and it was disgusting when we got home 10 days later. I have two plastic "pet placemats" (bought specifically for pets at a local pet store) that I use to protect my floors from the spilled food and water, and that is where the food was. Joelyne was quite offended by my critique, she raised her voice on the phone to me and informed me that she didn't operate a cleaning service. At that point, I knew we couldn't do business any longer and told her so and that I would pick up my keys. She also said that receiving pictures of our pet while on vacation was something that she normally didn't do, but I'm fairly sure she said that would be no problem at the initial consultation appointment, and the other reviewers state that they received pictures of their pets, so I'm not really sure why she said that. She was angry and emotional. Her contract does ask for permission to post pet pictures on social media which would promote her business. read more
