My border collie, Mia, has been going to Wagging Lounge Resort since she was first vaccinated as a puppy. Now four years old, she still loves it as much as ever, both the people and the dogs. The team there captures amazing photos and fun music videos, giving us a glimpse of how much our fur babies are enjoying themselves. I would easily rate this place a 10! I never have to worry about Mia when she's there. She's also been boarded at Wagging Lounge, and because she's so familiar with it, she treats it like her second home. Thank you, Wagging Lounge!

UPDATE: this place posts pictures on their Facebook page of the dogs when they go outside. I saw several dogs on the side line sitting down, which would be reasonable given that it was 102 degrees that day, and not one of these dogs sitting on the side was my dog. In fact I'm attaching the pics of my dog. You tell me, does he look anxious and shy? Or does it look like a dog walking around and getting to know this new environment he was thrown into? I'm changing my rating to 1 star. This place is dumb and I'm not gonna say the reason for his "failure" that I'm thinking in my mind, but as a black dog owner I have thoughts... ------------------- This place seemed like a good option for my 8 year old mixed breed dog but I would not recommend to anyone with an older or shy dog. In fact they do not take very old dogs or shy dogs at all. I came here to take my dog for an "evaluation" to be boarded. I'm filling out a form and another lady comes in with her dog. Her dog ran up to my dog and they were friendly with eachother. A staff person ran out to the front and yelled at me "No! We do not allow leash contact in this area!" I'd never been there in my life how would I know and I should never be yelled at, it wasn't even my dog that started the interaction. Anywho, they take your dog in for daycare for about 2-3 hours (they say). So I dropped him off around 8:30 and had a hair appt at 1. They said if he doesn't pass you will have to come pick him up. In 2-3 hours if he passes you will get no phone call because he can stay. Okay. At hour 2 I just missed him so I called to check in. The lady said he was not being very social and she will evaluate how he does outside. An hour or so passes and I hear nothing so I consider he passes and go to my appointment. As I'm pulling up to my appointment (4hours after drop off) she calls and says he failed and I need to pick him up ASAP. I'm like what happened. Apparently her words : he's too shy, he's anxious and nervous, he's sitting in the corner. I asked if he was aggressive, she says no, just shy. So he failed. I had to have my fiancée leave work to pick him up. Of course my dog is shy in a new place, the usual boarding place we go to is booked so I had to try this place. He takes some time to warm up and the staff could've tried to make him feel comfortable. He's not aggressive at all. Just older, lazy and shy. if that is their policy , then that is their policy it just sucks and I wish they would have stuck with their timeline and notified me by the 3rd hour so I could've gotten him. I definitely do not want him in a place that makes him feel nervous and the staff isn't helping him to feel less nervous or is not trained to know how. So anyway that's my experience. It wasn't a specifically negative experience either, it was a nice place even though they only do tours from 2-4 so I couldn't see the place when I dropped him.. which is funny because my dog needed an evaluation but I digress. Only negative was the staff member yelling at me .. the customer.

Piper, what a beautiful, mild-mannered companion.

The first thing that attracts me to a business is the staff. Services in my opinion come a close second. No matter how great the services are, if the staff is not helpful, cordial, or customer oriented, I refuse to patronize the business. Ha! This is not the case with Wagging Lounge Dog Resort. The staff and service was 100% on point. The staff was accommodating, experienced, knowledgeable, cordial, and had the best customer service attitude that I've seen in a long time. Piper was totally happy when we returned to get her. The evaluation went quite well. She loved the staff and interacted with them well. We made boarding reservations for her immediately. Keep up the great work Wagging Lounge Dog Resort. Regards, The Boone Family

    My "long haired" dog.

I will not be returning to Wagging Lounge. I took my 40ish pound lab and terrier mix for boarding and an exit bath. When I dropped him off, I asked how much a bath would cost and I was told $35 based on his weight and coat length. After picking him up and paying, I realized I was charged $50 for his bath. When I called to ask why I was told that he is a long hair dog. I just spoke to the manager and was informed that any dog with fur over 1 millimeter is considered "long hair" by their standards. Even though the AKC classifies both labs and terrier dogs as short haired. Apparently Wagging Lounge goes by a chart they have that they don't bother to share with customers to give an accurate price. The manager told me she was sorry, but there was nothing she could do. Seems a refund could/should be issued but they are declining to do so even though I was given an incorrect price. Does this dog look like he has long hair?? This place is overpriced in general, find someplace better to take your dog!

My dog loves this place!! The owners and staff are always super welcoming and friendly, which is a plus. I have used the daycare and boarding services. Every time my dog comes home, he's worn out. He has so much fun while there. It's super cute when I drop him off because he gets so excited that he jumps all over the place. The staff there love him. They welcome him loke he's their own. I absolutely love it! I started using their services this year and I couldn't be happier. I had to board him for a week while I went on a work trip and felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with them. He was on meds during that period and they handled it all. Their prices are reasonable and the place is clean. Ask for a tour and give Wagging Lounge a try. I'm sure you'll love it and so will your dog!

I boarded my intact dog Belgian Malinois here for 5 nights in a standard suite. After picking him up I noticed he had raw red sores on the bottom of his testes (see photo). The fur was completely worn away and the sores were slightly weeping. I'm not sure if they are burns from hot blacktop, sores from wet concrete, or chemical burns from any cleaners. Upon taking my dog to the vet, the sores on his testicles were diagnosed to be infected with stafp. He is now being treated with an antibiotic. The owner of the Wagging Lounge, Jimmy, denies that something in his facility caused the sores and is unwilling to issue a refund; though he did offer to potentially share the vet bill. For me it's less about the money and more about the harm that has come to my dog and potentially others. He believes my dog licked himself until the sores were formed. I urge you to look at the photos and make the determination yourself! There is no doubt that sometime between dropping my dog off and picking him up from the Wagging Lounge that these sores were formed. I called the wagging lounge and asked what could have caused this and what the flooring of the environments are. They did not know what could cause it. The standard suite is laminated concrete, the outdoor play area is artificial turf, and the timeout area is blacktop, which is partially exposed to the sun. Keep your pups safe and in the hands of people who are willing to take responsibility! I will not be utilizing Wagging Lounge's services any longer.

Rigby having a fun at Wagging Dog Lounge

Our dog Rigby had her evaluation day and she was a little timid at first but the wonderful caring staff made this dog mama and Rigby feel at ease right away. Thank you Wagging Lounge Dog Resort for the wonderful service.

Dropped in to wash my Lab this morning and was greeted with friendly helpful staff. They made over my messy girl just enough to get her comfortable with the environment and then left us alone to use the self-service wash. What an easy process! Bathe her, dry her, take her home.

My little white corgi at wagging lounge daycare...

My little corgi loves this place. We switched from another daycare near by and I definitely see a difference in my pups attitude when we get there. At the other spot, they always had to drag her in. Here, my pup goes in willingly. I love that staff is happy to everyone that comes through the door and they are always nice to everyone.

Finally, they came out with her bed and blanket but said they couldn't find her food. When asked, the guy at the desk said he called someone who had been taking care of our dog and said the wet food was given twice a day to help my dog poop. If that's the case, then they didn't feed my dog for at least 2 days. When we got her home, all she wanted was to eat and sleep. She wasn't her playful self. Now, when she walks for a few minutes, all she wants to do is curl up for hugs and to sleep. They said they gave her a probiotic to help her poop but I'm beginning to think she couldn't poop because she hadn't eaten. During her stay, she lost 1 pound and for a dog that wasn't quite 8 pounds, this is extremely dangerous. Also, when we picked her up at noon, they said she hadn't had her morning walk. Who doesn't walk a dog in the morning? Another thing that is not acceptable is the fact that they made changes from day camp to 1-1 time, so my dog was left alone for most of the day. They made these changes without contacting me or the emergency contact. They barely made an attempt to socialize with my dog, did not take her for walks, lost/misplaced her food and bed, and gave her a probiotic without any consultation or approval. On top of everything, they charged me more than what was expected and now I have to take my dog to the vet because something happened while she was there and after speaking with the veterinarian, they need to see her as soon as possible. I will never take my dog here, again, and will tell everyone to stay away from this place.

Why is it that the one thing you are looking for always seems to be the item that is out of stock…read moreeverywhere. I was in need of dry food for my cat and every single place I had stopped was completely out of it. I thought that maybe PetSmart would be the place that would actually have this. Walked in and navigated to the cat section. Checked the shelf, and it was a negative. I even scoped out the top shelves to makes sure it just wasn't pulled forward. Even though they did not have the exact item, I did grab a bag and head towards the registers. Why in the world was the worst part about this store? Like they planned for it to be a total breakdown area. I got to the register and there was only one open. I was third in line and more were coming behind me. The hold up was a customer had an item that just happened to not be scanning and was the last one in the store. Instead of seeing that a line was forming of people and opening another register, both the cashier and another employee went off to search for a solution. Finally, another employee came to their senses and noticed that we were all just standing around. Another register opened and the line started to go down. By the time I had gone through the register they still hadn't got through that customer with the unscanable item.

The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. As a responsible pet owner, I want to make sure that there is consistency and an expectation that my Boyz are well behaved and well mannered. Which means I have to do the work. Funny, as I was driving home from our final session, I was so tempted to take them on a short walk because I knew it would be enjoyable. But decided to wait until morning... I'm so excited to be able to have an enjoyable walk with these guys... less scolding and more bonding. Well worth the time and financial commitment. Thank you OLK9 Maryland for bringing additional joy to our home... things are definitely more "manageable". I'm really looking forward to our walks, especially since there will be NO more pulling! I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.
