I've been here twice: once years ago for brows and once today for brows and lower legs. Someone in the previous review mentioned possible workplace toxicity--When I went in years ago it did feel kind of quiet and eerie, as if some of the staff were sort of whipped despite having a full house of workers and waiting customers. Today it seemed like it was a quiet day and there was only one or two other staff despite 2 waiting customers. As in both my experiences the venue appears to be really clean. Not sure what other people are complaining about re: rudeness as it's quick, polite and efficient and also the wax they used was surprisingly super painless... one big caveat: they double dip, and if you're the type that minds then you should pay more for peace of mind. They wore gloves and had a mask on for my lower leg wax. They're experienced with threading but if you have sensitive skin I wouldn't go here-- While I'm totally cool with pain (and even enjoy that during an eyebrow wax/threading) some people would feel having a thread rapidly whisking over their over-eye area would be too tender. They weren't wearing gloves for the threading part but frankly not sure if I've ever seen that or if people would still be as tactile with gloves on. It would have been reassuring to see someone sanitize hands before the threading took place. I deducted a star as the most disappointing part was double-dipping in wax... which higher end salons don't do but at this price point, is common and is a bit of a dice roll on skin health given the monkey pox scares... so I wouldn't trust waxing my pubic area with them. read more

Nope.. just nope. My appointment was booked online which didnt show up. Thats understandable, technically glitches happen. What was disappointing and to be honest,very annoying was the staff behavior.The receptionist was trying her best to do what she could but there seems to be somevery clear toxicity in the workplace... the staff seemed to be over worked or paid less. Get it sorted. The receptionist squeezed me in for the service after asking if I was ok to wait which I was fine with. Honestly, I wish she hadnt. The lady was clearly upset she had to take in a client. Didnt even respond to MY hi ,how r u.. Didnt ask how I wanted my brows. Told her anyways, no response. Told her, I have some acne ,she grumbled, I will do it around the acne I cant do anything.. errr ok. Full face was done in maybe 7 mins and I asked her for a handheld mirror to check the final look. She said there were none and had to walk to the mirroron the wall.Even,backalley parlors have an handheld mirror. And she didnt clear the hairs she had plucked out,so I couldnt even really figure out if everything was fine I mean I get you have issues but I am also paying for a good service.Came back home and had a closer look,missed hair,uneven brows. Update :) I've been going for over 3 years now, still fabulous quick service - Manali is the best and always gets me in, even when I show up without an appointment. *** I haven't had a lot of luck with finding a regular place for waxing - until I moved down town and asked a friend who lives in the area for a local recommendation. I was SO happy with the services I received. I was able to book my appointment online through their site quite easily and received confirmation both via text and email. I had a half leg wax and armpits, we started at 10:15am and I was out before 10:30am. The aesthetician was quick and thorough and friendly but not overly chatty. REALLY IMPORTANT POINT: they use a new stick every time they dip into the wax, which I was really happy about. Very hygienic. It was an above satisfactory experience! They are currently running a promotion and before tip both services together came to $28.95 before tip. Additionally there is a loyalty program, so when I let them know who recommended me, she received 5points equal to $5 on her loyalty card, and my services were kept track of in their customer database and I gained points as well. I was excited to learn that this threading and wax bar was opening next to where I live. Although I have a regular place spot that I visit, I cheated and came here on Sunday. The bad: The wax room is way too bright! The experience was incredibly painful! And I told the lady doing the waxing this, but she ignored me - and I must point out that I have had this done many times before, and it had never hurt before The service was not friendly The service I wanted was on sale for $25 (when I got home and looked at my receipt, I was charged $30) When I checked to see how the job was done when I got home, I learned that it was not complete (only 75% done). I recently moved into the neighbourhood and needed to find a place to get the man-brows in check. As a guy, it's always worrisome to do as some places who say they can do guys are so used to doing women that they make the look too feminine. The owner and aesthetician were very nice and confident they would keep it looking masculine. They certainly did. The process was quite quick (still amazed at how she used that thread to do everything she did) and pretty painless relative to my other experiences. They burnt my armpit as well as brazilian wax! It hurts so painful during and after the waxing. Wouldn't recommend.

So I read all the comments and went to this salon. I found this salon very racist. Being an Indian salon they were rude to the fellow Indian Clients. I wanted to get my eye brows done and I asked them to show me while they were doing it and the employe rudely told me to not see till the time it's done and when it was done, my eyebrows density and volume had decreased drastically when I told her specifically not to. I also had gotten my wax done from here and they were commenting on my growth. i requested them to be gentle while doing my wax and they told me that they don't have so much of time and there are other clients. I've never felt so upset and disheartened. read more

Worst place to go to get waxed. or at least Brazilian waxed. The whole process was rushed and very painful (and I have a relatively high pain tolerance). The aesthetician was either not trained enough or just didn't want to do her job properly. I left with patches of hair EVERYWHERE and had to go home and shave again. What a waste of money. I even emailed them and explained the whole situation and asked for a refund for their poor service but never heard back. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Friendly and warm staff. Warm atmosphere. I was able to book online with ease. I received a confirmation email and text asap. I was 5 minutes late and was easily accommodated. There was a 20% discount so it was a fair price. Despite these great features, I do not see myself coming in for a Brazilian wax again. It was my first time, and so naturally I wasn't sure how I should prepare. My hairs weren't pulling because apparently they were too short, but was still able to pull in sections. I suggested bikini and still feel that post service it looks patchy. It took 10 minutes and after the procedure I also noticed more bleeding than expected from my hair follicles. I'm not bothered as I understand that hair is being ripped from an EXTRA sensitive area. I personally will not be returning for this service. read more

Ive had consistently amazing experiences with eyebrow tinting/threading. Fast and great results, lasting 4-6 weeks at a time. Julie is my go-to as she gives a natural and polished look! Only downside is that I would love to also see lash lifts available as well! Keep up the great service read more

Service here is quick and efficient in terms of threading brows and upper lip. You can't really go wrong with the $10 deal. As a walk-in client, the brow shape can be hit or miss depending on who you get however I'm not afraid to tell them how I like it done. I wouldn't recommend getting your underarms waxed by the filipino girl though - my underarms were red for days after I got them done with her. Now I only go to this location strictly for brows and upper lip threading. If you're in the area and looking to touch up your brows, this place is pretty A-OK. There is the option to make a reservation and I'd highly recommend it if you're thinking about dropping by after work because the wait times can be upwards of 30-40mins. read more

I have come twice for eyebrow threading and both times was not super impressed. The first time they took the arch out of one brow and the second time made both brows pencil thin. I would not go back. I think it is worth mentioning that this salon was recommended to me by someone I trust very much, so perhaps this is just my bad luck. Don't really post on yelp. Not sure how to promote a business without comparing it to other business. . . but. . . this place is AMAZING! Omg! I wasn't expecting the wax I got to be this good and painless. Disclaimer: only got underarm and Brazilian wax so can only report on that. I went in because my regular waxer off-Bay was on vacation and I needed a quick fix. Low-and-behold the price difference and quality were so different it almost felt unfair. What I mean is, I've been with my regular waxer for a year now and she charges $55-65 for a Brazilian plus $20 for underarms, excluding tip and tax, and there were multiple occasions where I came away thinking the wax was hastily done and there was still hairs here and there. . . And I didn't want to offend her because it could impact the next waxing appointment. So I just did what any yuppie would do and instead of leave a 30% tip I left a 15% tip. But I had a completely different experience at Prayosha. It was more affordable and welcoming. The technician, Pooja, was amazing! She was funny and effortlessly charming. And efficient! The quality was better than anticipated and I like that this place is a hidden gem. I'm only writing a review because Pooja earned it. And she can guarantee a repeat customer from me, going forward. read more

DO NOT. I went there to do a body wax. I ended up with more ingrowns than ever before. ALSO, the person waxing was not careful. I ended up with a horrible bruise on my thigh. I couldn't see it, but I felt it. I asked the "aesthetician" if I was bleeding. She laughed and said "no". This place is a sham. They do not care about your skin. read more

I went in today to have the "half-Brazillian" which I had done there before. When I asked about it the woman said they don't do it. I explained that I had it done before at this same location. The answer was "no, we don't do it". And that was it. No more discussion. I left frustrated and not happy. Later today I called a different Prayosha location and asked about "half-Brazillian". They said yes and booked me in for the next day. I will not go back to the Church Street location. I did the Brazilian wax. She was super fast, I'm used to do that in 30 minutes. The whole process (remove clothes, do the wax, clean, put the clothes on) took 8 minutes. The only thing I don't like is the kind of wax they use there. I think is a little painful - the one with strips. Except for that, everything was good and clean! read more

So the place was clean n' so on. I was a walk in, which is kinda of unheard of when everyone wants appointments. So I think they squeezed me in, Literally 2 weeks later, I still have 5 ingrown hairs, and the hair that was removed has started growing back. So I'm not sure if it was the type of wax, the direction of pull, or just my own body, I've had waxes before on the back, and have never encountered this many ingrowns before. So I'm probably not going to go back. The person seemed rushed, it was over n' done in about 10 minutes, maybe it was too fast. I have been going to Prayosha's Threading and Wax Bar's for about 5 - 6 years now, starting with the Scarborough locations. Since moving to the West end of the city the journey across town was well worth it for their great service. The one star is for cleanliness and efficiency (which may not be all that good actually, read on..). It was my first time here today. I had a wax done and was fully prepared for the pain (can't be avoided). The biggest issue I had was the beginning and end of the process. Without getting into details, the girl made me bleed in the beginning because she wasn't careful (re: efficiency). In the end, I noticed the job was NOT thoroughly done. At all. The girl claims this was intentional to avoid irritating my skin. I get that, except I've never had that issue anywhere else. Other places I've gone to would do "fine cleaning" by using tweezers. Not the case here. It's a shame because the location is convenient for me, but I will NOT be back. read more

I finally found an affordable waxing place in Toronto. Prices are great and ask about sales as they often have discounts floating around. My waxer was fast and friendly. The place is hygienic and they don't double dip bikini wax. I'm moving out of town in the next year or so and I'm worried I won't find a place as affordable as this in my new city. The downside is the actual wax they use seems to be unusually painful, for some reason. read more

Place appeared nice. Service was less than mediocre. I asked her to just clean up and not thin out my eye brows. She removed enough that I now have a bald spot on my right brow. She also left hairs because they were too small. That's the whole point of threading. To remove the hairs. Won't go back and do not recommend. read more
