Today it seemed like it was a quiet day and there was only one or two other staff despite 2 waiting customers. As in both my experiences the venue appears to be really clean. Not sure what other people are complaining about re: rudeness as it's quick, polite and efficient and also the wax they used was surprisingly super painless... one big caveat: they double dip, and if you're the type that minds then you should pay more for peace of mind. They wore gloves and had a mask on for my lower leg wax. They're experienced with threading but if you have sensitive skin I wouldn't go here-- While I'm totally cool with pain (and even enjoy that during an eyebrow wax/threading) some people would feel having a thread rapidly whisking over their over-eye area would be too tender. They weren't wearing gloves for the threading part but frankly not sure if I've ever seen that or if people would still be as tactile with gloves on. It would have been reassuring to see someone sanitize hands before the threading took place. I deducted a star as the most disappointing part was double-dipping in wax... which higher end salons don't do but at this price point, is common and is a bit of a dice roll on skin health given the monkey pox scares... so I wouldn't trust waxing my pubic area with them.

They're not out there to shape them, just clean them up, and for that, I can relax the moment I lie down in the chair. I also noticed that they have henna for $5 (I plan on going one day just for that) and massages that are $1 a minute, for 15 or 30 minutes/dollars. To date, that is the best deal I have seen in the city, but no sign of RMT license. The ladies who work here are as nice as can be and smile so much. I walked in around 11AM and told the woman that I wanted to keep my shape (thick eyebrows that took forever to grow) and that I just wanted a clean up. I also wanted my upper lip threaded. First, I have not experienced pain from threading in a VERY long time. I have been threading my upperlip and eyebrows consistently every 3-4 weeks for probably 15+ years? This woman seemed like she was mad as hell and my eyebrows and upperlip were to pay. I have cuts on my lip and was tearing up the entire time. Second, she SLAUGHTERED my eyebrows. I came back with HALF of one of my eyebrows and the other completely botched. They don't match - AT ALL. I ran out of there as fast as I could afterwards because literally I did not want her near my eyebrows ever again. I will never return.

I understood her policy was very strict and for the two appointments I had, I arrived on time. I was really excited because I do believe she's great at what she does and she specializes in black skin, which is a plus. A couple days ago I was alerted at work that my covid rapid test had come back positive. I was asked to take a follow up PCR test then go home. I knew I had my appointment on Monday, so I gave Rea notice. She requires 48hrs, I gave 24hrs. Bear in mind, it is Sunday afternoon and I've just been told that I've tested positive for covid. I explained that to Rea and she immediately informed me that I am to etransfer her the amount for my "late" cancellation ($195.00) or she will cancel all my appointments. I was taken aback and was very put off by this response. I respect the policy of any business I frequent, however I strongly belive that sensitivity, tact and compassion are pillars in customer service and in that moment, Rea was deeply lacking in those traits. Fortunately she was able to cover an hour of the appointment and told me to send her $65 instead or she will cancel the rest of my appointments. Because I was still willing to move forward with her despite insensitivity, I e-transferred her the amount. But after much thought, I decided that I am not interested in doing business with someone who cannot understand that in uncertain times like this - life happens. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to finally being hair free after struggling with this for so long. However "good work", as she calls it, means nothing without sensitivity and tact. P.S. I'd like to note that she requires payment for missed appointments or late cancelations because that means she loses money - which is fair. But I'd ALSO like to note that as a client, I'm paying for gas/transit, parking, my time, as well as paying for the actual service. I'm not requesting a free service or special favors. And although she has "no exceptions". I think exceptions should be made for Covid. I even told her I could send her a copy of my results to prove I was being truthful, because I was that serious about moving forward with her.
