This review is way overdue; Several years ago, I hired Matt Rogers to pet sit my Pug for couple of…read moreweeks in a stay home basis;we live in Southern California. we had a trip coming, and few days before we left on our trip, I took my dog to the vet for a check up and regular vaccines; I also asked one of my sisters to stop by once in a while to check on Rocky ( my Pug). In one occasion, she stopped by to check on Rocky and I do not know until know what is what she found out, that she had to fired Rogers. I messaged her from abroad, and she only told me that she had arrived, and found my dog in a bad condition, and she just said " I think that guy is nuts", I asked her what happened, and she did not want me to worry about; she continue to say... I am sorry, however, I had to ask your dog sitter to leave; Rocky is not doing well, I will be taking care of Rocky now. She took my dog to the vet. We were about to return from our trip. When we finally got home, Rocky was still not feeling well; his rear was very sore, inflamed; he was very stressed out, he looked sad; very different than the way he usually was. I asked my sister what is what she found out when she came by the house to check on my dog, and she just told me, "I do not want you to stress out more, however, I think that guys is nuts, do not hire him again". I never found out what is what she saw, or in what condition she found my dog? The pet sitter was staying over- night at my house; so I have no idea what went on. My dog never recovered, his personality was drastically changed, he looked sad and afraid; he was not longer the happy playful dog. I was devastated and feeling guilty that I hired some one else to take care of him. My sister was the one who usually took care of my dog every time we went out, however, this time I did not want to bother her, and decided to hire a pet sitter. Totally regret it!

I did some research online and stumbled across Matt at Roger's Pet Care. I was very glad I did. Matt took the time to come over and meet Dexter prior to my departure, and within the first few minutes I could tell he really loved animals. He was courteous, took copious notes on Dexter's care, and I felt really comfortable having him watch Dexter while I was away. His pricing is very reasonable, and he even sent me a few photos of my little guy throughout the trip to let me know he was okay. I highly recommend Roger's Pet Care if you don't want the price, hassle, and stress put on your animals by boarding them while you're away.

One of my cats was so…read moretraumatized by the lack of understanding and neglect that he started hiding from people who came into the house after one pet sitting experience. I have had to hire a behavior trainer to help him overcome his fears of people coming into our home. Promises were not kept and notes are not taken. We have used their services multiple times and were always happy with the care our pets received. However, this time we were gone for between one and two weeks due to a family emergency. I made sure to buy enough hay and food for all of the animals. When we were returned, the hay level was almost exactly at the same level it was before we left, making it immediately obvious the animals were not being given hay (2 guinea pigs and a rabbit). The rabbits food was at exactly the same level it was before and the kitten and guinea pigs were both out of water. We have a kitten as well who has severe separation anxiety and we told the sitter this and that they needed to make sure they took time to play with the kitten (the previous sitters with this service took time to play with the kitten and we often got really great pictures of the kitten.) No pictures at all and when we returned the kitten SCREAMED for almost 2 hours and was very distressed. Again, immediately obvious that she was blatantly ignored for the entire time we were gone. The sitters are supposed to fill out "pet logs" each time they are here. Some nights this was not even being done until the next morning when I would reach out to the owner of the business to inquire where it was. We also have a camera and noticed some days it would never detect any motion at all, suggesting there were days the sitter did not even enter the home to care for the pets. We reached out to the owner immediately with the concerns. He told us he'd "look into it" and would call us back. He never did, and instead charged our card and assessed a late fee. Afterwards, I reached out to the owner once again and did not get a response. What started as a complaint against a specific sitter has now grown with utter disgust at how this owner has fielded a complaint. Charging our card and hoping we'll go away is not how you "look into" issues. I am grateful that none of our pets were dead when we came home, but I think if we'd been gone much longer they would have been. Stay away from this pet care company. Instead of responding to us in any capacity, the business owner decided to take to my negative Google Review and Gaslight me via an owner response claiming "we would have let the sitter go if you reached out". We did. Multiple times. And that isn't the point. You charged our card AGAIN after everything happened. Pathetic. Do better.

Playtime pet sitters went above and beyond what I could have hoped for! It was so comforting, getting detailed reports and so many pics after each visit. I feel like they really got to know our cats and their personalities. Letting me know who was being extra sassy and who was being lovey-dovey. The entire team was great and we had many people to the house while away. I have to give an extra shout out to Rosalind, though, who got to spend the most time with the cats. One of our cats is so shy that she barely likes my husband, and I was certain that she would stay hidden anytime they were over. Rosalind was so patient and made her feel comfortable enough that towards the end she would come out when she was over. Truly amazing! She also gave each of them one on one playtime and used all the different toys that we had available at the house. Cinco (a.k.a. handsome Dan) loves the red ribbon that you left. I think it's his new favorite thing! We will definitely use playtime pet sitters in the future when we're away! If you're researching places, look no further, book with playtime!!
